Dogs in their senior years can stay active too.

Here are some of our dogs in their golden years. Moderate exercise helps to slow down the advancement of arthritis and the deterioration of their muscles.

Our Day School program activities are beneficial for them physically and mentally.

The first step to an enjoyable walk for you and your dog is to check your leash and how you are holding it.

Easy peasy!

We can shape many behaviours through luring (teaching our learner to follow our hand), without the need of physical manipulation.

Teach your dog to follow you and walk on a loose leash.

And no, your dog do not have to heel beside you all the time!

The shorter the leash, the less room there is for the dog to manoeuvre.

When your dog feels the tension on the leash pulling him back, he’d lean forward to pull against the pressure. This is called Opposition Reflex and is similar to when someone pushes you and you brace yourself automatically.

When you walk your dog with tension on the leash, you are actually encouraging the dog to pull on the leash. The more he pulls, the more he gets to go where he wants to.

To avoid unintentionally training your dog to pull, use a longer leash instead (1.5-2m). If there is no tension on the leash, there is nothing for the dog to pull against!

Teaching our puppies to enjoy being handled and restrained is part of socialisation too.

We want to teach them to love being touched instead of just tolerating the process.

Sometimes awesome treats and a little encouragement goes a long way.

The more we practice. The better we will get.
