We had pupcakes for breakfast today, in celebration of ’s 1st anniversary! It seems like yesterday that I first met CJ at Bishan Park, where she assessed my situation and advised Hooman on the best suited activity to help with my stiff joints and weight.

Over the past 5 months, I’ve had massages and hydrotherapy—I don’t really like being in the water but being in session with CJ makes me feel safe and she never shames me even when I’m having an ‘off’ day. This is really matters to us because despite being a lovable doggo, I get made fun for my chonkiness 😅

Are you a certified small animal rehabilitation therapist? We are looking for you!

We are a Mobile Rehabilitation Centre. Our air-conditioned van is equipped with a Hydrotherapy Treadmill, Physiotherapy equipment, Infrared red light laser therapy and space for massages. Our services are provided in the comfort of our client’s home or in our van. It’s an added advantage if you have a class 3 driving license.
Hydro Tails wellness is hiring certified hydro therapist! Experience advantageous.

Responsibilities:
- Able to assess and recommend rehabilitation treatment plans.
- Assist other therapists in the day-to-day operations.
- Arrange appointments for clients.

Golden's paw-parents are interested in rehabilitation and its benefits as Golden is a 14-year old golden retriever.
Golden showed signs of stiffness when walking; her paw-parents said she has problems getting up and can only take short walks; her muscles were really tight.

Golden’s paw-parents signed her up for our trial sessions to determined if she can adapt to rehabilitation and to understand the different types of therapies and their benefits.

We applied Myofunctional Massage Theraphy on Golden during her trial session to release all the tightness and improve her blood circulation as her muscles felt cold and stiff. To reduce Golden’s pain and to release her knotted muscles we also used infared light laser therapy.

Golden’s paw-parents realised that after just one session, Golden looked brighter and happier, she was more relaxed and able to move around better!

Now Golden gets weekly sessions of Myofunctional Massage Therapy and we’re happy to say that she is doing really well! She has a bounce in her walk and is getting around the house much easier. She is also able to take longer daily walks and her appetite is better too!

Golden now looks forward to seeing Hydro Tails Wellness van as she knows the next one hour in the van is pure enjoyment 🥰

On this second most important Chinese holiday, it is time to get together with family for a meal, enjoy the full moon and celebrate the fall harvest!

Do bring your furbabies out for moon viewing as this day is closest to the autumnal equinox(beginning of fall) each year, which means… the moon is at its brightest and biggest!! 🌕

Teddie started rehab with us as her paw-parent is concerned about the stiffness in her legs and wants her to feel comfortable and pain-free as she is in her senior years.

During her first session we discovered that Teddie has lots of knots and tightness in her hindlegs, lower back and shoulders. She was not resting well during the session due to the discomfort from the tightness of her muscles.

After the first session, her paw-parent took her to the beach for a swim, something which Teddy has not done for years and she also started playing with other dogs. Her paw-parent also told us Teddie’s appetite is much better and her stools are normal, no signs of constipation or soft stools.
Our deep tissue massage aids in digestion which is really important for seniors as everything slows down as they aged.

During our second session of massage, Teddie was feeling so comfortable that she fell asleep during the session and was completely rested! Her muscles felt different as the tightness and knots had decreased.

Not all rehab therapies are difficult for the fur-babies; our massage therapy has a lot of benefits and all of our fur-babies look forward to them!

Blackout is around 1 yr old. He was referred to us for pain management by the vet.
According to the breeder, the mother’s umbilical cod was tied around Blackouts hind paw for a period after birth and the nerves died thus his paw was lifeless and they had to amputated it. After adopting Blackout, owners realised Blackout was in pain at at the amputated leg and lower back area. He showed shows of pain and unhappiness when carried or touched. Owners brought Blackout to a vet and they found out that his amputation was mid-leg resulting in the pain as such decided to amputate at the joint to minimize the pain. He did get better after the surgery but is showing signs of pain and discomfort again. Vet suggested rehabilitation instead as this might be a recurring issue and putting him on painkillers frequently is not advisable.

Our therapist, Gaya did a full assessment and found knots and spasms on lower back and hip area. The muscle around that area was cold as well which shows that blood circulation is not at 100%.
We started blackout on Myofunctional Massage therapy which is like deep tissue massage. This will aid his blood circulation and release the knots and tightness. In addition, we did infared laser therapy on him to aid in releasing all the deep muscles and help with pain relief as well!

He was so comfortable during the session and you can tell the bliss in his face! He was a joy to work on and we are pleased to see slight improvements just from one session!
