We want our rescued dogs to experience kindness, joy and the great outdoors as much as possible.

This is the new page for Project JK - Just Kindness. The original page breathed its last due to technical difficulties. We will miss it.... :(

We started helpi

ng an elderly stray feeder, back in 2004, to feed, catch, sterilise and rehome our homeless dogs. Through the years, much awareness has been created. Many rescue groups have sprung up. More dogs have been taken off the streets - into shelters or homes. We hope you will be part of our new beginnings or heartbreaking endings — celebrating all the little things in life.

to our post in July 2018 when Forrest and buddies moved to the animal lodge. And we pondered about the 5 Freedoms so important for any animal under our care, whether they are at the shelters, foster or forever homes.

🐾 Freedom from hunger and thirst.
🐾 Freedom from discomfort.
🐾 Freedom from pain, injury, disease.
🐾 Freedom to express normal behaviour.
🐾 Freedom from fear and distress

These are the 5 FREEDOMS for the physical, mental and emotional well being of our animal friends who deserve to live in a kind, happy, stress-free environment. 🖤

Last minute outings are the best - SURPRISE CHIP! 🥳

This boy is a great travel companion. Good hearted, easy going, curious, fun, game for anything and eats everything 😄

Chip is 9 years young. He does require an experienced family who will patiently reinforce his good behaviour and carefully manage his reactivity to other dogs and certain humans. To his immediate circle of humans, Chip is very affectionate and loyal ❤️

Drop us a message to meet this good boi who might just be The One you need in your life! 🐾

On this day 3 years ago, the Potatoes 🚙 from east to west to the new animal lodge.

So much has happened, so many memories good and sad. What remains the same is the happiness they bring whenever we meet ❤️

Happy to see u too Forrest! 🖤 Even happier that nothing bad happened to you and your buddy during today’s “special appearance” by 2 offleash dogs 🙈😱

Everyone, pls be extra extra careful with your house gates. Your dogs may be friendly and may not bite BUT many dogs do not tolerate offleash dogs rushing up to their butts or faces and they might react/bite from that sudden intrusion into their space which would then lead to a negative experience especially for timid dogs 😩

That scene of a big dog bounding up to Forrest seemed to happen both in slow mo and in a flash of a second....before the owner ran up to carry the dog away. Things could have gone either way 😓

So so thankful everyone is safe and unharmed 🙏🏻

Had a lovely walkie and lotsa treats before the rain. Time for a snooze now. Happy Sunday everypawdy 🖤😌

Good walk + good shower + good lunch = great weekend 🥰🐕🌤🌿

It’s been a year since we moved Forrest out of the shelter to home boarding.

Like many other rescue dogs, Forrest learns to adapt to new environments, new people, new mates - while we try our best to make the transition as low stress as possible by arranging a few home visits before the permanent move, keeping to the same diet, bringing along familiar items like his bed and visiting him every weekend to help him settle in and thrive in the new neighbourhood.

We often say that Forrest has come a long way cos indeed he has! Memories of his rough puppyhood in a rusty bunny cage with abusive farmers have faded away, making room for this bright eyed happy boi who has found the courage to trust and love us humans again ❤️

A good day with a good boi 🖤

🐾ADOPT CHIP🐾 Some weeks back, Chip went on an outing with his favourite vollies. He had a great time.

Chip is 9 years young and will do best with an experienced family in a one-dog household. He’s a fun and affectionate boy who enjoys outings and adventures. As he mellows with age, Chip will make a good TV buddy too.

Drop us a message to find out more. ❤️🐕

We helped Bob-Bob along mercifully in June 2019 when he was very ill. Then Oyster in Jan this year when she developed a painful tumour. Kimmie took her last breaths at her staycation home in March after a fun night out at the beach. Cathy took her last breaths last Wed evening after 16 months in her foster home.

They were all rescued from a mushroom farm more than 10 years back and had seen both the bad and good of mankind. It is amazing how they can learn to trust and even love us after the abuse they had seen and experienced in their old farm days.

We looked forward to seeing them every single weekend at the shelter and their simple gratitude and beaming smiles carry us through the week. Until we see them again.

They ask for very little. Yet give us so much more in return.

“Dogs’ lives are too short. Their only fault, really.” ❤️🌈
