We're a small, independent community project trying to rehome the abuse cases and cat hoarder situations in Spooner Road.

Hello everyone! It has been awhile but we're back with some updates. We apologize for our inactivity these past few months as we are slowing down on our operations.

We are happy to inform that we have successfully accomplished our mission on rehoming all our cats which were predominantly from Spooner road + a handful more from urgent and desperate cases and as such, we will be winding down our Cattery Project.

We would also like to share that our team has decided to donate the remaining $300 of funds that we have towards GUI who has supported us since the very first meow of our kitties. Ground Up Initiative is an organization that aims to address the environmental and social concerns created by rapid urbanization. They also aim to connect people back to nature, community and self.

For adoption: Tofu 🐱

Tofu is a sweet 2 year old cat with hetereochromia ( 1 blue eye and 1 yellow eye) who is super cuddly and affectionate. He is very shy for the first few days and will hide in small spaces ( which could be due to being abandoned). However, after he warms up to you he will be a real cuddle bug, loves your attention and will even sleep with you! Ps: he loves belly rubs and head pats too!

🐱SUCCESS STORY: BRIE & GINGER🐱

Our last kitten, Ginger has been adopted together with his mummy, Brie! Initially wanting to adopt one of the other kittens along with Ginger, their adopter fell in love with Brie when she kept staying near him and asking for his attention.

Their adopter says both of them are doing great and they love lying on the cat tree most of the time. Both of them would sit and sleep with him most of the time. Other than that both of them loves cuddling and playing together as well!

We would like to thank Brie & Ginger’s adopter for adopting both mother and son together and giving them a wonderful furrever home with an amazing furrever family! 🥰🥰🥰

🐱SUCCESS STORIES: Cookie and Cream(l🐱(formerly, Stripes and Spots)

The inseparable pair of the batch has been adopted together! Initially only wanting Stripe/Cookie, our adopters couldn’t bear to separate him from his brother Spot/ cream. Hence they decided to give both of them a loving Furrever Home! Here’s what they have to say about them:

“Cookie and Cream are very active and lively. They are super active that we had to lock them in the room so that they will sleep. They usually sleep well when locked. But once the door is open, they will start playing with Gohan and Kingsley again.
They really eat a lot. They eat half a can each and some leftovers from Gohan and Kingsley. These 2 are really adjusting well to life with us. Gohan and Kingsley are happy with Cookie and Cream.”

Once again, we thank Cookie’s & Cream’s adopter for taking both of them in and allowing them to be together furrever( as well as having two big brothers that dotes on them)! 🥹🥹

🐱 SUCCESS STORY: BOBA 🐱 (Not to be confused with the other Boba)

We are proud to share that all four of our kittens has been adopted!

Boba is the first out of her four siblings to get adopted into a loving furrever home, here is what her adopter has to say about her:

“The undisputed queen of the house, Ms. Boba is a fiesty little monster that will meow our ears off till we follow her to the kitchen to make her meals.

An absolute poser, she’s camera ready 24/7 and always looks adorable whether she’s sleeping in the most unglam positions or staring right into the depths of our souls.

One of her favourite activities is hiding behind objects and jumping out to scare us even though we can clearly see her. When it comes to sleepy time, she becomes an absolute sweetheart and purrs nonstop. She will choose her favourite human of the day to sleep with and curl up between our legs or by our side.

When she’s feeling generous, we’ll even be able to wake up to her purring and making biscuits on our chest right before she yells at us to make her breakfast. We absolutely love her to bits and knew from the day we saw her that she would be a part of our family 🧡🤍🖤”

For Adoption: BRYCE

Our handsome boy, Bryce is still up for adoption and his health is improving a lot!🥰

Other than his health issues, Bryce LOVES to play, he eats well and he takes his medicine without even struggling at all, making him a purrr-fever companion for first time adopters!

Because of his needy personality, Bryce would best suit a family who will be home most of the day to give him love and attention. While he loves people, he does easily get overwhelmed by rowdy kids and will hide, so he would prefer a family with either no children or calm, older children (teens and up) who won't scare him.

Bryce had a hard first few years of his life, having grown up along with 7 siblings inside of a metal cage, never let out and forced to fight over a single plate of food everyday. In spite of it all, he still loves humans with all his heart and will surely bring many years of joy to the right family ❤️ Will you give him a chance?

FOR ADOPTION: HERA🐱

Our beautiful Hera is still up for adoption!

She is a chill 5 year old cat that loves to spend most of her day napping. She loves to make biscuits ( kneading) while purring in front of you and she is VERY vocal when it comes to demanding for food. She loves being petted on her head, chin scratches and rubbing against you.

She is very independent and knows how to entertain herself when you are not around, when you are around she would love to play with you!
Overall, Hera is perfect for a first timer if you are looking for a furry companion 😊

Luna is a beautiful one-year-old kitten who is full of energy and curiosity. She is very adaptable, and knows how to make herself comfortable in a new environment. Although she has FELV and cannot interact with other cats, she is extremely playful around humans, and is always up for a good scratch. Luna is the happiest when she gets her meals! This kitty absolutely loves to eat, and will always lick her bowl clean. Being a young cat diagnosed with FELV, we wish for Luna to find a safe home with a family who can provide for her needs, and raise her with lots of love.

🐱 FOR ADOPTION: KITTENS! 🐱

We've got a new batch of rescue kittens who are finally available for adoption! They are about 3 months old and we are looking for new homes for each as our fosterer can only keep them until the end of July.

Callico: 🌶The epitome of small and fiesty. She makes up for her tiny stature with a fearless heart. Always on the move and honing her hunting skills, she is the most mature in terms of behaviour out of her peers!

Ginger: 🍼 He is the most whiny and screams bloody murder when being picked up. He is probably mamas boy!

Stripes: 🛝The second most independent to Callico, he loves to climb everything (humans included) and will be sure to keep you busy playing!

Spots: 🤤From his size you can tell he lives to eat. This foodie is 1.5 times the size of his sister for a reason. If he isn't eating, he is sleeping!

As his adopter’s resident cat is unable to cater to his playful nature, our handsome boy Leo is back up for adoption again!

Leo is a brave and spunky young man about 1 year-old who enjoys the companion of humans and other cats. He enjoys playing a lot and is very energetic! He is perfect for adopters who are seeking for a companion for similarly high-energy young cats (preferably around 1-2 years old)

Though he is mischievous, he is still a good boy who behaves well when left by himself. However, due to his preference of rather rough play-fighting, homes with elderly cats and children are not recommended.

🐱 SUCCESS STORY: ROSIN 🐱

Rosin’s adoption had most of us on an emotional roller coaster. The poor girl had failed approximately 3 adoptions and with each failed adoption she became more and more depressed with her constantly scratching her face , overgrooming herself and becoming less manja towards people.

Recently she has finally found adopter(s) who loves her very much. She returns the affection by showing off her hunting skills ( by catching all the pest in their house) and even flop over and knead their feet to request for massages!

She now spends her time having zoomies during play time and loves to play with tennis balls!

We are very happy that after so many months and hardships, Rosin has finally found her furrever home where she is truly happy and becoming very affectionate just like how she was before. We would like to thank her adopters for giving her a chance and showering her with love & care.

🐱 SUCCESS STORY: ONYX (formerly Mimi) 🐱

Dubbed as a little demon by our volunteers due to her attitude and loving to play rough, everyone was worried that Onyx would not be able to find a furrever home due to her fur colour being black. Months later, Onyx has finally found her furrever home!

After she has been adopted, she has turned into a little angel towards her adopter. Her adopter mentions how they are bonding very well together - from asking for belly rubs when she returns home, watching tv together to giving headbutts & rubbing her body against her adopter to show affection!

We are very happy that Onyx has found a furrever home and thank her adopter for looking beyond her fur colour and choosing to to give her a chance in a furrever home!

🐱 SUCCESS STORY: CYRUS 🐱

Our resident big brother and naughty boy at the cattery, Cyrus finally got himself adopted back in March! In fact, he had caught the attention of his adopter very early on because of his unique fur coat (which they learnt it could be due to abuse he was a kitten).

His new adopter shared with us that they were smitten when they saw him play fetch with his favourite rainbow ball and how he dotes on his feline brothers and sisters. They thought he would be a great resident partner- in-Crime with their resident cat, San Mao.

Cyrus has settled in wonderfully and eating very well. He is still chasing his rainbow ball and his new toy, SanMao ( they play together every night!). His adopters are glad that he is still that mischevious boy that he was at the cattery because he adds colour into their lives.

We are very happy that Cyrus has been adopted and would like thank his adopter giving him a loving furrever home!

🐱 Success story: Hazel 🐱

After her first failed adoption, sweet Hazel has finally found herself a new furrever home!

At the beginning Hazel took a long time to warm up to her adopter’s resident cat, Blackie, who was very eager to play with her. Nonetheless, with her adopters’ endless patience and Blackie’s determination to befriend her, she finally stepped out and became friends with Blackie.

According to her adopter: Hazel now gets along well with Blackie and once in awhile they will fight ( because Blackie is in a bad mood that day). At the end of the day, she goes to sleep together with them!

We are so glad to hear that Hazel has found a wonderful home and once again thank you to her adopters for their patience in integrating Blackie and Hazel together!

🐱 SUCCESS STORY: Jingles & Lemmy 🐱

We have always worried about whether these two would ever find their forever home, let alone together -- but we are SO happy to share that black cats and retired mamas can still make the sweetest family members! This happily married couple (look at them holding paws!) are now living their best lives in a loving home together.

Jingles was rescued as a deathly skinny young mother who was near feral in her distrust of humans and we originally feared she would never adapt to a home environment, but thanks to her new family and the unconditional love of her newfound husband Lemmy, she has blossomed into the perfect companion. While in the cattery she was very aloof and unresponsive to affection, she now actively seeks out scratches and played with toys for the first time in possibly her entire life. The two will occasionally sleep in bed snuggled up at their humans' feet.

Lemmy is mostly unchanged as he has always been very manja (especially towards women in particular) but without the stress of fighting other male cats for dominance at the shelter, he has mellowed out and become much more relaxed and loving 💕

Many thanks to this happy couple's adopters for giving them a chance! According to their family, they have already brought so much joy and every day is merry with them around.

🐱 FOR ADOPTION: HERA 🐱

Unfortunately Hera's home trial did not work out so we are putting her back up for adoption in hopes that this time she will be able to find her forever home!

Hera is a chill cat who spends most of her day napping. But she's also very vocal, will meow for your attention and take over your space if you ignore her, will also meow non-stop while you prepare her meal. She has a hobby of making biscuits (kneading) while purring around you. She is independent, leave her favorite toy out and she will play alone but she also play well with her roommate. Although her belly is off limits and refuse to be carried but she love being petted on her head, getting chin scratches and rubbing against you!

Isn't she so fluffy and pretty? We think she looks like a rabbit or a chinchilla!

🐱 FOR ADOPTION: BRYCE 🐱

We are excited to put our sweet boy Bryce back up for adoption as his health has been improving a lot recently!

As you can see by his photos, Bryce is the snuggliest boy who will purr happily when he is carried and squished. If you place him on your lap and pet him, he'll fall asleep right there 💕 It is very easy to feed him medicine (he is such a good boy!) which he has to take due to his chronic bowel problems.

Because of his needy personality, Bryce would best suit a family who will be home most of the day to give him love and attention. While he loves people, he does easily get overwhelmed by rowdy kids and will hide, so he would prefer a family with either no children or calm, older children (teens and up) who won't scare him.

Bryce's medical issues require him to be on a strict diet, otherwise he will have diarrhea. However, after a lot of rehabilitation at the cattery, this has already improved significantly, and we hope that it can continue like this!

UPDATE: Fosterer found!! Thank you!! ‼ URGENT FOSTERER NEEDED ‼ Grumpy has been having serious diarrhea for over a week now and as a result her rear is swollen and inflamed, and she is getting skinnier and weaker. We are giving her medication as prescribed by the vet but she doesn't seem to be improving. Despite her name, she is an extremely affectionate and cuddly cat who just wants to headbutt and snuggle you, and to see her like this is breaking our hearts. We are asking for any kind and experienced folks who would be able to help foster Grumpy. Things to note: - Must be experienced with feeding medication - Grumpy is feisty and will growl if you scruff her to feed her meds, but she won't bite - Due to her extreme diarrhea, she will require a lot of cleaning - We recommend that the fosterer have no existing cats right now as we are unsure what is causing her diarrhea Shares are much appreciated. If you are interested in fostering Grumpy, please send us a DM.

I have no idea what you went through before this but You'll never be hungry again. ❤️ Cats came back from the vet. They're severly underweight and between 3 to 5 year old but they're the size of kittens, all 8 weighed between 1.5kg to 1.8kg. 😭😭 If you're interested to support the cats, please donate via paylah / paynow 85309776 with the remarks "cattery" thank you!

Our cattery is ready! The cats will be coming in tomorrow evening~ One last day to finish up some more furniture for them ❤️ Thanks to all the volunteers that helped build this cattery. It's because of this DIY project that made the whole cattery affordable. & of course a big thank you to all the donors for making this possible! If you have any cat accessories to give away, please let us know! We have 8 kittens that will be put up for adoption as well once the vet clears them! Stay tuned!

The cattery is 40% completed but we're running out of money. We have raised $700 but all that money is now gone to the construction materials. Slotted angle x 40 pcs = $340 (arrived, not paid) Pvc sheet for roof x 20 sheets = $228 (arriving tomorrow, 31/7) Wire mesh 5 rolls = $$240 (arriving tomorrow, 31/7) Fasterners = $50 (arrived, paid) Total = $858 We need $158 more to cover these basic building materials. We still need to raise funds for the transportation of cats, food as well as medical check up etc. Please help donate towards the cats that are going to be relocated.
