Happy to share and participate. This time we are planning to auction ALL FISH after the show, starting from the best. All will be available for bidding on Saturday around noon. More details to follow.
I'm breeding guppies - for the fun it does to mix&match available traits and develop new strains

I had a wonderful time in Trôo, thanks to EGS for invitation and hospitality! Special thanks to Noémie for helping me around. And to Denis for hard work on all aspects of organization 🙂 see you soon my friends!
Half way on my trip to guppy show in Troo. Stop at Frankfurt Airport. I hope all fish are fine - no leaks so far ;)
ZOO Płock is a very guppy place today. Meeting of Klub Poecilia Reticulata - KPR starting now.
Bycatch - collecting Cyclops I got this one - I think it’s Bombina bombina. And lots of fresh&cold water “brine shrimp”, most probably Eubranchipus grubii.
I'm digging through an interesting article about affecting s*x ratios in guppies, a series of experiments, some of which can be repeated in hobbyist fish room conditions. It's an impulse to re-think the X-fish that happen from time to time in my lines and consider possible scenarios leading to them. One of the not so mysterious results is a flurry of gigantic males at a certain period. a few of my friends know the reason, but those who don't may speculate on the cause. The below fish are photographed in a tank with 10x10 front - to give you an idea of their size. All photos from one day, fish in similar age, from different lines.
Narrowing down the breeders. Looks like I’ll have to go two ways from there. I’m a bit cautious not to offend anybody, but the name Gypsy Dancer shouts in my head every time I watch them. Any other proposals?
An overdue refresh of my grindal worms culture. Will come handy when it gets too cold for daphnia and cyclops.
Feral guppies from Hungarian city of Karcag, known for thermal waters. Krisztián, my friend, thanks for bringing them to Poland!
Those are my own Silverado MBAG Mosaics. I’ll call them Highlanders, as they slightly resemble the Scotish clansmans in kilts and white shirts - as well as Polish mountaineers’ traditional women outfits. If you have some other name proposal - I’ll be happy to consider it :)
Another great start of September at ZOO Płock. The last EC show this year collected ~200 pairs of great guppies. My fish were well recepted as well. Met some old and new guppy friends (hugs to you all), got a strain of Hungarian feral gups (Thanks Krisztián) and some upgrade females for my mosaic projects from the best pissible source 🙂 And I had an opportunity to shoot those as well.
There are some interesting phenotypes worth investigating further. Still too early for conclusions, but it’s needed to sample from time to time.
Update Aug 2023
Some happy fish basking in the sun. Sorting through the outgrow tank not to miss anything interesting.
During my time in Sofia I had a great pleasure to visit Misho Pankov and see first hand his great line of half moons. Sadly, I’ve learned today that he passed away. May he rest in peace. I hope his friends from Bulgarian Guppy Club save his fish for the hobby.
Inspired with the Bulgarian show I spent some time on selection today. It was high time to seriously limit the populations.
On my way to Bulgaria with some 20kg of Polish finest guppies (water included 😀 ). Looking forward to a great show.
Some creative fun with Silverado and Half Black. Much more interesting than keeping one strain. The predecessor of all those was a Silverado with red double sword.
Assorted random catch from speartail mixed colony tank. Shoutout to all you solid color delta breeders - why not have the real fun? ;D A few will be propagated and hopefully established next year.

I’m hearing there will be „a bit” about guppies. Anyone around should go and check out :)
A new line I’m secretly working on for a while. Culling time.
How to feed your fish and improve your wellbeing - my way. No copyrights, feel free to try and you may thank later ;)
In guppies not all gold glitters, and silver may be quite blue 🙂 representative sample of F2 of my outcross of golden/bronze Sc roundtail and Ab MBAG mosaic female. 4 males on the clip are like the founding male.
There’s plenty of daphnia and still a lot if cyclops, but I got a great bycatch this time :)
Blue on blue, in blue. Overal easy and could be a bit boring - if not for the annoying spots of pale-ish on the tail and black blotch on males’ bellys. Work in progress.

A quick review from the Bulgarian guppy show I had a great pleasure to take part in. You may notice the BGC members, current European Champion, International Observer of the show and some fish as well. Enjoy!
