The Pinky Project is named after "PINKY" a Pekinese-poodle dog who traveled back and forth with his family, between Toronto and El Salvador, during the years of 1991 - 2008. Pinky was an exceptional dog, who helped his human family in the healing of wounds of war and exile. We, his human family, are naming this project, THE PINKY DOG SOLIDARITY PROJECT, to support neglected and/or abandoned animal

s in the City of San Salvador and elsewhere. Our main activities consist of disseminating information about the work of animal shelters and animal rights activists do, and to engage in solidarity campaigns to support spayed/neuter campaigns, and possibly provide vet care for street dogs and cats, as well as families with limited resources who cannot afford to pay vet bills for their pets. El Salvador needs to keep up the hope for building a society in peace; we believe it can be achieved! we also believe that animals play an important role in the healing process of the Salvadoran society. El Salvador is still living high levels of violence that impact everyone (women, those in most vulnerable conditions such as children, lgtbiq+ communities, people with disabilities, youth, amongst others). Animals do not space being a target of violence as a culture of compassion and respect is still being nourished with difficulties. Every effort made counts! please help us help! Our Story

Our main activities are all about promoting solidarity: with shelters, low income families and abandoned or neglected animals (companion animals and wildlife) in El Salvador. With the little resources, we try to engage in solidarity efforts to support spayed/neuter campaigns, and provide other vet care for street dogs and cats, as well as pet food for families with limited resources.

The Pinky Project is named after "PINKY" a Pekinese-poodle dog who traveled back and forth with his family, between Toronto and El Salvador, during the years of 1991 - 2008. His family had migrated to Canada in the early 80’s as refugees. Once the Peace Accords were singed, Pinky’s family returned to El Salvador to join social justice movements. It is when, in 1992 that Pinky was born in the San Jacinto neighbourhood, San Salvador. Pinky was an exceptional dog, who helped his human family in the healing of wounds of war and exile. El Salvador needs to keep up the hope for building a society in peace; we believe it can be achieved! we also believe that animals play an important role in the healing process of the Salvadoran society and anywhere else. We also believe that torture, cruelty and exploitation should be erradicated from our daily personal and community lives. With shared efforts and solidarity we can make it happen.

We are naming this project, THE PINKY DOG SOLIDARITY PROJECT and present it to you in his memory and in recognition that Pinky loved all kind of animals, small and big.
