Rescue Paws is a non-profit animal relief organization based in Khao Tao, a small fishing village roughly 3 hours south of Bangkok, Thailand. We coordinate & conduct sterilizations, vaccinations, parasite treatment, veterinary care and rehabilitation for abandoned, mistreated and abused stray animals. Rescue Paws also facilitates local & international adoptions, local educational initiatives and offers award-winning volunteer & internship programs.

🎉 Mia is Heading Home! 🎉

We’re thrilled to share that Mia has found her forever home! 🏡❤️

After being hit by a motorbike a few months ago, Mia’s journey hasn’t been easy. She lost her front leg due to the injuries she sustained, but that didn’t stop her from showing us what a resilient, sassy girl she is! She learned to walk again and quickly became the queen of the clinic, winning over everyone she met with her loveable nature while keeping all the other dogs in check!

Now, Mia’s story has a happy ending—she’s going home with the wonderful Tracie. We couldn’t be happier for Mia as she heads off on this new chapter in her life.

Thank you to everyone who supported Mia’s journey, and to Tracie for giving her the loving home she deserves. Here’s to a bright and beautiful future for Mia! 🐾❤️

Catching temple dogs for follow-up treatment is never easy, but our team is nothing if not persistent. A few weeks ago, one of the dogs at our own temple sustained a nasty laceration on his leg. We treated the wound initially and have been closely monitoring his progress since then. This last visit, however, he was onto us and made sure to give us a run for our money! After several attempts, we finally managed to catch him and redo his bandage. His wound is healing—slowly but steadily. Our determination is paying off! 🐾❤️

Lucky has been having the best time since arriving in Switzerland earlier this month. Her rescuer Christine let us know how she was doing:

'I am over the moon❤️ Lucky is at the best place ever and the two other rescue dogs behave like lucky was always there. She is super happy and loves Swiss grass. Lucky is sooooooo sweet and starts to always jump on our sofa and lap like a cats of the house.

She can room free now in the garden and there is a fence. She has so much space to run.'

It sounds like Lucky has hit the jackpot 🍀

The second case we helped yesterday was little Pugsy, who was brought in by our dear friend Cristina. She spotted him on the side of the road, suffering from a badly infected eye. However, it was the ticks that made his situation truly urgent. Poor Pugsy was covered in over 300 ticks, and our team, along with Cristina, spent over an hour carefully removing them. His paws, ears, and body were absolutely covered. With such a severe infestation, Pugsy is likely battling blood parasites and is very weak.

We immediately treated him with Frontline spray, deworming, and fluids to help stabilize him. Today, he’ll receive a dose of Bravecto and start IV antibiotics as we continue to monitor his progress. Pugsy will be staying with us while he recovers, and we’ll be doing everything we can to help him get back on his paws.

Yesterday, our vet team was out for the day at a spay event, but as many of you know, the medical cases don’t stop just because we’re busy. In fact, we had two urgent cases come in that needed our immediate attention. Thanks to our dedicated and passionate team, we were able to step up and help these animals in need.

Meet Twix, a brave little guy who’s had a rough time lately. He was found on our feeding run with his family, but unfortunately, Twix had developed a painful abscess that needed immediate treatment. We quickly brought him back to the clinic, where our team drained the abscess and bandaged his leg. Twix will be staying with us until he’s ready to be reunited with his family.

Here at Rescue P.A.W.S., the work never stops, and neither does our commitment to the animals who depend on us. This is why saving our clinic is so crucial. We need your support to ensure we can continue providing life-saving care to animals like Twix every day.

The vet team is out today at a sterilization event. With many patients waiting and many having been seen already the team are on a roll!

We have an urgent situation—earlier today, a concerned local reported a dog hit by a car. Our vet team rushed to the scene and brought him straight in for emergency care. We've named him Slim Shady 🐶

X-rays confirmed that Slim Shady has a broken front leg, and there’s suspected blood in his lungs. Right now, he’s receiving emergency treatment and pain relief, but he’s not out of the woods yet.

He’s smart, easily trainable, and loves making new friends—your biggest challenge on walks will be his eagerness to greet everyone he meets! 🐕👋

Fish would be a perfect first-time pet for an active family. He’s good with dogs, cats, and children, and enjoys his walks with excellent leash manners. While his recall is pretty solid, it could use a bit of reinforcement—nothing a few treats can’t fix! 🍖

When Mina first arrived at Rescue PAWS, we believed she was almost completely paralyzed, with only limited feeling in her hind legs. But Mina has proven to be a true fighter! Over time, she gained weight and strength, and before long, she was ready for her wheelchair. After just a few weeks of rolling around and running along the beach, Mina’s front legs started to grow stronger. 🌊🐕

To our amazement, Mina began picking herself up and standing on her own! While she can only hold herself up for a few seconds at a time, she’s making incredible progress every day.

Now, with the first of many hydrotherapy sessions completed, we’re hopeful that Mina will be walking a little further on her own very soon! 🤞

Our hearts are heavy today as we say goodbye to our little Golden Boy, who crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. 🌈

He arrived at our clinic yesterday after being hit by a car. Despite our best efforts, we soon realized that his injuries were far more severe than we initially thought, and his tiny body simply couldn’t cope. This morning, he slipped away quietly, surrounded by care and love. 😢

Though his time with us was short, we are grateful that we could provide him with pain relief and emergency care, ensuring that his final hours were peaceful and free from pain. 💛

Run free, sweet boy. You are loved and will be missed. 🕊️

Arrivederci Rigatoni! 🍝🐾

The last of our Pasta Puppies, Rigatoni, has left for her new forever home with a loving family! ♥️

Rigatoni and her siblings arrived at Rescue PAWS in a heartbreaking state, barely surviving in the jungle. Out of all the pups, Rigatoni was the most severely injured and faced a tough road to recovery. But with a lot of love and care, this little fighter pulled through and made a full recovery. Now, the light at the end of her tunnel is shining bright as she heads to her new life, full of love and happiness. 🌟

It’s hard to believe it’s been just 4 months since Hu Ya arrived at our clinic. The skinny, fearful pup we first met has blossomed into a chunky, happy boy who’s full of life! 🌟

Hu Ya has been receiving treatment for several health issues, and today, as he completes his final heartworm treatment, we’re thrilled to share that he’s almost ready to head home. When the time comes, he’ll be more than ready to reunite with his loving family. 🏡❤️

Urgent Medical Care Needed for This Brave Boy🩺💔

An urgent case has just arrived at our clinic. This sweet boy was hit by a car, and we suspect he has a broken femur. Right now, he’s receiving emergency medical care and much-needed pain relief. Our team will take him for x-rays as soon as possible to assess the full extent of his injuries.

As a small clinic, we don’t have access to x-rays, ultrasounds, or other advanced medical equipment. In critical cases like this, we must rely on local vet clinics and hospitals to provide the necessary diagnostics and treatment.

Sadly, his owners have chosen to surrender him, so he will remain in our care for the foreseeable future. Please keep this golden boy in your thoughts as we work to give him the best possible care and a chance at recovery. 🤞💛

When Lucky first arrived at Rescue PAWS as a puppy, she was suffering from mange, had lost most of her fur, and was covered in painful sores (swipe to see Lucky's recovery). But with weeks of dedicated care and treatment, Lucky began to recover, revealing the loving, playful, and full-of-life spirit that was hidden beneath her rough exterior. 🐾💕

A year later, something truly special happened. Lucky’s rescuer, Christine, returned to Thailand with a mission—to bring Lucky home. And now, after an incredible journey, Lucky has arrived in Switzerland to start her new life! 🏡🇨🇭

Meet Willow, Our Gorgeous Girl Ready for Her Forever Home! 🌟🐾 Willow has taken some big steps this week by joining the big off-leash group walks and integrating wonderfully with everyone. Mongkorn and Chicken left us last week to begin their big journey to the US 🇺🇲. Both arrived at Rescue PAWS earlier this year after having tough beginnings. We'll be sharing their full stories later this week, but for now, let's celebrate the happy endings for these two boys who have found their perfect homes 👏👏👏 A big thank you to Christine and Detlef of Christine's Pet Travel for making this possible, and a huge shout out to Kathryn for escorting the boys all the way to San Francisco, even changing her flights for us ♥️ It takes a village, and we're very lucky to have ours.

Daeng was the victim of a cruel act by someone who didn't understand the consequences of their actions. 😢 Daeng arrived at our clinic with a sliced muzzle from an embedded rubber band. The band had been tied around her mouth, rubbing away her muzzle and leaving it inflamed, infected, and very painful. 🩹 Thankfully, she was spotted by someone who rushed her into the clinic for treatment. After a few weeks, she quickly recovered, and a familiar face came by to take her home. 🏡 She's now under the care of the community, and they have our number should they need us. 📞 Sadly, lack of education and understanding are the reasons these types of injuries occur. People playing pranks on animals and not realizing the harm they are inflicting is something that we are striving to change. Our education project aims to highlight the importance of animal welfare and how people can make a difference. 🌟🐾 Education is the only way we can change the future for animals. We need to spread the word further and focus on living peacefully together in order for animals to stand a chance. 📚🌍. If you can't help them, at least don't hurt then.

We have some wonderful news to share today! ♥️ Mina has started to use her hind legs! Though we knew she had some feeling in them, she has been unable to use them until now. As you can see, she supports her weight slightly on them but still very unsteady and dropping frequently so she will greatly benefit from the wheelchair that will arrive any day now. 🌟 For now, we are watching her with nothing but admiration for her determination and will to walk. Mina's progress is slow and steady but we hope that one day she'll have the strength to walk again. 🐶💪 Your support makes stories like Mina's possible. On Friday our amazing vet team headed to Pak Nam Pam for a mass spay event in partnership with @animaldoctorsinternational.th where the spayed 69 animals. These events make a huge difference in communities where pets are loved and cared for but veterinary treatment such as sterilization may be too expensive. A huge shout out to our new friends at Animal Doctors International who not only donated their time but also donated medicine and parasite treatments to us. May this be the start of a beautiful friendship ❤️

You may remember Hu Ya, the malnourished pup with a deeply infected back wound that arrived at our clinic in April. Rescued from a refugee village, he has now been with us for 2.5 months and is well on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, he has tested positive for heartworm, a serious condition caused by parasitic worms in the heart and lungs. Heartworm treatment is lengthy and risky, requiring restricted exercise and close monitoring. Our Story...humble beginnings

Rescue P.A.W.S. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of stray animals in Thailand. Our facilities are based in Khao Tao, a small fishing village roughly 3 hours south of Bangkok, Thailand.

From humble beginnings in 2013 as a simple feeding program, the organization officially came into existence in May 2014, when The Global Work & Travel Co., based in Australia, and XploreAsia, based in Thailand, generously made funds available to erect 12 kennels and equip a small clinic with basic equipment.

Rescue P.A.W.S. has since grown exponentially into a fully fledged animal relief organization, targeting the stray animal problem in the Hua Hin region of Thailand through sterilization and education.
