Paws and Claws Pet Transport

So today, it is time to deliver the sad news that PAWS and CLAWS PET TRANSPORT have delivered our last Furbabies. Debbie and I have come to the hard decision to close the business after 4 years and hundreds of furbabies delivered. We delivered the last dog on Sunday morning.

The decision was made a few months ago after I had to have stent fitted which made us revaluate our future.

Over the years, we have transported so many animals during turbulent times such as Covid, regulation changes in Turkiye and commercial bans.

We have not done this alone and had a great team working with us and special thanks go to Sid and Alper who have both been co-drivers and animal handlers to me and looked after all the pets during all the trips and we are forever grateful to the guys.

I would also like to thank all the charities and owners who entrusted us with their precious pets as we all know how we all feel about our beloved furbabies. Another thanks go to Mick and Dot Roberts from Turk UK travel who helped both with advice and support when we needed to calibrate on all the changes in paperwork and regulations when they happened.

There was one person who backed us from the very beginning and was the one responsible for me setting up Paws and Claws at the start and has supported us through thick and thin and that is Kathy Ashton and even though at times I blamed her for getting me into this we will be forever grateful for setting us on the journey and we thank her for that.

That just leaves us with one final farewell and to wish all the rescuers, charities, and transporters mentioned all the best for the future.

Please can anyone help with fostering Umut a year old GSP. If we can’t find home or foster he will be going into the death camp shelter as rescuer moving back to Canada 😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏

Some of you may remember this post about 2 dogs that had appeared near the Montebello resort hotel, well Rusty,as he is now called, is happy and safe in his foster home while we are preparing him to travel home to his lovely mum in UK. Lucky Rusty.

Today was a busy day for us.
It started with us collecting a beautiful puppy, taking to the vets for a check up and microchip and then taking to his lovely foster home until his time to travel arrives. Whisky is a lucky boy.

Next we took Tam and Pat, who are adopting Mabel to visit her in her foster home. The time is getting nearer for Mabels travel to Uk and everyone is getting exited.
Mabel is special girl to us and many others in Ovacik and hisaronu and will soon get her happy ending. ❤️❤️

During our last trip to UK, Neil was contacted by a lovely Turkish lady who was flying her own dog over to UK but was concerned about her health certificates being correct.
Her friend had recommended Neil to check for her so of course Neil said yes. Unfortunately there were quite a few mistakes that we were able to put right and the lady and her beloved dog made it safely to UK.
Yesterday we recieved some beautiful gifts in the post and this card as a thank you which was a lovely unexpected surprise.
The lady is called Duygu and is one of the few turkish female entrepreneur would like to make a big shout out for her company DENEBUNU.COM please take a look ###

These 4 beautiful babies are fit and well, eating solids and using the litter tray.
They are very friendly and loving. If anyone has a little space in their home to save them from street life, please get in touch.
They have been raised in a store room but will soon be out and about as starting to climb where they will be in danger ###

So that's another great trip completed. All furbabies are safely delivered and enjoying their new homes.

Storm who nearly didn't make it due to breaking her leg and needing an operation the week before travel but lucky for her the vet said she was fit to go and she was a very good patient.

Also RIP Albie who sadly fell ill just before the trip and was taken to the rainbow bridge😪😪

Mummy and all 4 babies are doing so well and enjoying the safety of their new place away from the dangerous road.. Eyes have just opened. If anyone can offer a home to one of these gorgeous kittens, please let me know.

Doesn't time fly by!!

We have just realised it is 3 yrs since Paws and Claws delivered our first lot of VIP passengers to UK.

It is also the trip that Covid hit and all borders closed behind us so we were stuck in UK unable to get back to Turkey.

It really doesn't seem that long ago.

We managed to drive back in April 2020 against the odds and resumed trips from June onwards.

We have had many ups and downs with rule changes and soaring costs, but we are still here and going strong. Lots more grey hairs though 🤣🤣

Here is a message from the Turkish people for all the kind donation of clothes, blankets and shoes which we brought back on our last trip.These were donated from our family, friends, customers and staff of Cherwell Laboratories Bicester a special thankyou to all. There were families there who were in great need of theses items so they were put to good use straight away.

🐕I am Family

It is Christmas day today,
And all are full of cheer,
But I lay freezing on the step,
I always sleep right here.

I never get to go inside,
And join in all the fun,
I'm what they call a yard dog,
When all is said and done.

They have given me some scraps,
I think it was last week,
Now laying in the snow today,
I am feeling tired and weak.

I can hear the children playing,
As my head lay on my paws,
This time just last year,
I was a gift from Santa Claus.

I don't know what I did wrong,
To be shut out in the yard,
I only lived inside 6 months,
Since then my life's been hard.

The snow is falling heavy now,
I'm just a block of ice,
And when I breathe the cold cold air,
My lungs feel like a vice.

A miracle then came to pass,
An Angel did appear,
She glowed,and I could feel the heat,
As she floated near.

She reached her hand and beckoned,
It was such a sight to see,
She smiled and said "Good Dog,
It is time to come with me.

I will take you to the bridge,
Where all the Good Dogs go
You can play there in the sunshine,
There will be no freezing snow."

My bag of bones stood up then,
I shook the snow from off my fur,
And,as I slowly followed,
This is what I said to her.

"I am not a Good Dog though,
In that I think you're wrong,
No one would shut a Good Dog,
In the garden for so long."

The Angel turned and smiled,
As I walked with head hung low,
Then she said"I'm sorry,
I thought that you would know.

You really are a Good Dog,
The reason why your time is up,
It is just unfortunate,
You were born a Christmas pup."

I now live at the Rainbow Bridge,
And I am filled with joy,
But remember this at Christmas time,
A dog is NOT a toy.
