Enrichment provides many benefits to guinea pigs🐹. These include but are not limited to
- Allowing natural behaviors
- foraging
- reducing stress
- improvment of physical health
- improvement of mental health
- providing exercise
- reducing destructive behaviors
- reducing boredom
Etc.

Here, we use recyclable materials to make a foraging toy. Greens ,such as bell peppers🫑 and lettuce🥬, were added.

🫑Bell peppers provide vitamin C, which are essential to guinea pigs ,as it cannot be produced naturally by their bodies.

🥬Lettuce provides fibre, vitamins, and hydration.

They had fun playing , tossing and tugging.

Here's to the amazing year that has been 2025🎉🎊🥳. It was filled with so many trials and challenges. Some of which got the better of us but difficilties bring growth🌱, resilience 💪and determination🤓.

We are thankful for all of the clients 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦that have trusted us with their non human family members, the staff 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️that have worked behind the scenes to make it all happen, our colleagues 🩺⚕️that have lent their ears and experience in difficult situations, the referrals and networks built to grow and expand our abilities to assist so many beautiful creatures, and most of all we are blessed to be able to assist in improving the health and wellbeing of each and every patient coming trough our doors.

Our aim for 2026 is to improve our quality of service, providing better products and overall Healthcare for each and every feathered, furry,and scaly friends coming to our doors.

Beak overgrowth 🦜 can be caused by improper alignment.

A chronic beak fracture ✂️ resulted in the ineffective wear and tear on the beak and resulting in the overgrowth🤥 of both the upper and lower beak.

This inhibited the bird's ability to consume food🥗 effectively and efficiently, as well as limited the bird's ability to move💃 around.

After correction, normal range of motion and food intake was regained.

There are many factors affecting beak growth.
Trimming the beak alone does not solve the underlying cause.

A full physical examination , consultation, and further testing can assist in the determination of concurrent health issues that need to be addressed in order to prevent reoccurance.

We are back in action after a few days out of office with the one and only Miss Bluey with a special gift for us!

This Easter Egger came to the clinic, got her full checkup, we ran a few tests, and she received her treatments with grace and beauty.

Abscesses of rabbits 🐇aren't like those of dogs and cats.

Their white blood cells , called heterophils,lack the enzymes to break down foreign material.

This causes their white blood cells to wall off infection rather than dissolve it.
As a result, thick cheesy🧀🧀🧀 purulent material is produced and must be drained in order for resolution to occur.

Here, we see a large abscess that was surgically drained under general anesthesia💤. It is amazing to see the vast amount of purulent material hidden below.

One important diagnostic tool 🔧🔍for determining the cause for a decreased appetite in rabbits🐇 and guinea pigs🐹 is the DENTAL EXAMINATION.🦷🔍

These animals have continuously growing teeth🦷⬆️.

A fiber deficient diet, disease, and other causes can result in these teeth becoming overgrown.
The teeth may then cause significant injury ⚠️to other oral tissues, including the cheeks and tongue👅.
Injury🤕, inflammation🔥, and infection🦠 cause substantial pain😵‍💫 and prohibit the animal from eating properly.

Parrots 🦜are prey species.

They tend to hide🙈 signs of illness very well.

They may not show overt signs of illness unless they become SIGNIFICANTLY ill. 😷🤮

Early ⏳️disease detection, diagnosis, and treatment increase the chances of recovery.
⚠️Prolonging treatment can result in more SEVERE illness, which tends to reduce survivability and can even result in DEATH💀.
