The mass on the v***a of this old girl has been menacing her for quite some time! The mass was easily removed and she is back at home resting within the day!

The mass is likely a lipoma (a benign tumor of fat cells) and surgical intervention is effective and recurrence (of the same tumour) is uncommon.

LAST UPDATE: Contact has been made with the owner of the chestnut horse of concern on this post and an appointment has been made for an examination.

UPDATE 3:The latest news to me as of 10am is that they Chestnut horse pictured below(which has been used for the majority of the social media posts and eye witnesses) is not being used to finish the FINAL Leg to The Red House today! The information reaching me is that a grey mare will be used. Calls and WhatsApp messages to Eric Lewis has gone unanswered and the horse has not been made available for examination (@ 945am as previosly agreed to!)

UPDATE 2: Unfortunately, I have been unable to secure an exam on the horse as of 8am Saturday. I have had contact with the rider however the journey continued. I strongly believe this horse needs an examination prior to continuation. If you see the horse today Oct 19, please comment on the location.

UPDATE: Contact has been made, and now to hopefully facilitate an exam on this horse and recommendations to all involved. Thanks to all that has assisted!

This horse is being used and publicly shared on various social media apps here in Trinidad recently. I must attest that I have not examined this horse in person , but have made and is continuing to make attempts to contact the persons repsponsible. Based on the many videos I have seen on the socials, I am truly concerned for this horse's welfare!
Anyone connected with the persons repsponsible, please express my concerns to them and have them contact me. I will strive to assist as best as can to offer guidance to the benefit of this horse.

Warning: can be an anxiety trigger to horse owners! 😄
On a serious note, finding your horse laying in the field can be signs of illness or equally, them having a good ole sun bath ( the case here)!

When to panic? Never! Instead just observe the horse and consider the following:

* Is this behaviors in keeping with that horse's personality ?
* will he/she get up easily when asked to
* is he/she sweating, looking back at tummy with a dull expression
* does he/she stand, circle, paw, and return down or roll uncontrollably

These may be signs of pain in the belly or colic. Ensure you and your vet have an owner-first treatment plan approach- it may save your horse's life!

Today's message is simple - be kind to animals.
Hindus all over the world are celebrating Shiva Raatri tonight. Did you know that Lord Shiva is seen as the protector of animals? In one of His forms, He is specifically seen as the protector of dogs.
So, your assignment is simple - pet or feed an animal today (as long as it's safe to do so).
The interesting thing about giving love to animals is that you're the one who ends up feeling happier after. They're magical like that.

Some people are really petrified of animals and can't interact with them, and that's okay. But, if you can't be kind to animals, at least don't be cruel.
