#ThrowbackThursday
Here's a throwback to a #transformation of a little dog's teeth before and after his dental cleaning.
This little guy's owner complained of very bad breathπ€’ and some swelling of the muzzleπ€. On examination, we noticed alot of plaque build up, gingivitis and tooth root exposure on several teeth.
Remember..."doggy" breath is not normal.
Contact us today and book a dental exam for your pet.

Dental Tips for Your Pet
1. Brush your pet's teeth regularly at home using a pet appropriate toothbrush and pet safe toothpaste.
2. Lift your pet's lip and check their gums and teeth for abnormalities. For example, chipped/broken teeth, swollen gums, etc.
3. Give your pet veterinary approved dental chews as directed.
4. Book an appointment annually to have your pet's teeth examined by a veterinarian and every 6 months for your senior pets.

While we enjoy our Valentine's Day let's remember that there are many things about this day that are dangerous and can cause harm to our pets.
1. Chocolate π«: Chocolate contains caffeine and theobromine, both of which are toxic to cats and dogs.
2. Flowers & Plants π·: Some of these are toxic to our pets. For example, Lillies and tulips are especially toxic to our feline friends.
3. Candy π: Sugarless candies contain an ingredient known as xylitol (artificial sweetener) which is toxic to your pet.
4. Alcohol π·: Even in small amounts, alcohol can cause severe illness and/or death to your pets.
5. Candles π―οΈ: Don't leave burning candles unattended around your pet. A cat may paw at a flickering flame or a dog may pass and knock over a lit candle. These can cause injury and/or damage to your property.
6. Decorations ππ: Bows, wrapping paper, ribbons, balloons and tape can become choking hazards for your pets.
In case of an emergency, we can be contacted via one of the following methods:

Blossom came to us after her owner noticed that she had a very swollen ear. Diagnosis...Aural Haematoma.
An aural haematoma is when the ear pinna aka ear flap fills with blood. This is usually as a result of trauma from shaking the head or a dog fight or from the presence of a blood disorder, usually caused by a tick borne disease.
If you notice, your dog's ear looking abnormally swollen contact your vet immediately.
