Double the fluff, double the fun! 🐈🐈👯Did you know there’s a fascinating phenomenon called ‘twinning’ in cats? Sometimes, two kittens from the same litter look nearly identical, like mirror images of each other. Have you ever had the pleasure of meeting twin cats? We feel so lucky to have two sets of incredibly adorable two and four legged twins at SUNNYVIEW!

Check out these fun facts about twins:
1. Genetic Variation: Twins can be identical (monozygotic), meaning they originate from a single fertilized egg, or fraternal (dizygotic), developing from two separate eggs fertilized by two different s***m cells.

2. Frequency: Twins occur in about 1 in every 250 pregnancies worldwide, with fraternal twins being more common than identical twins.

3. Identical Twins: Identical twins share 100% of their DNA, resulting in striking physical similarities. They may have different fingerprints but often have similar mannerisms and even voice tones.

4. Fraternal Twins: Fraternal twins share about 50% of their DNA, similar to any other siblings. They may or may not look alike, just like other siblings born at different times.

5. Factors Influencing Twin Births: Age of the mother, family history of twins, ethnicity, and certain fertility treatments increase the likelihood of conceiving twins.

6. Mirror Image Twins: Some identical twins exhibit mirror imaging, where features such as birthmarks, hair whorls, or dominant hand are reversed in one twin compared to the other.

7. Unique Bond: Many twins share a close bond known as “twinship,” often characterized by a deep understanding and connection with each other.

8. Separation Effects: Twins separated at birth may exhibit remarkable similarities in personality, preferences, and even life choices, despite growing up in different environments.

9. Language Development: Twins often develop their own language, known as cryptophasia, consisting of unique words and phrases understood only by each other.

10. Cultural Significance: Twins hold cultural significance in many societies, symbolizing luck, fertility, and sometimes supernatural powers or spiritual connections.

Keep an eye out for signs like redness, dryness, excessive itching, lumps, bumps, or changes in fur texture. Watch for persistent scratching, biting, or licking. If you notice any of these, consult your vet for a thorough examination and advice.

This visit had so many things we love…new client…great owners…A HEALTHY pet!!

We got to meet Lilly for the first time and she is as sweet as she looks! Her mum was concerned she wasn’t eating her chow so she did the right thing and brought her in. We did a full wellness check as Lilly just turned 1 just to do a checkup. Diagnosis: spoiled girl ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

If your dog isn’t eating normally the first step is to monitor their behavior, check for regular bowel movements and limit any other food or treats. If your pets is still not following normal eating habits…bring them in and let’s us help!

Have a safe and happy Easter from our family to yours! Some tips to managing sure both furry and non-furry family members have an awesome day;

🐰 live animals are NOT gifts for children and are NOT gifts on holidays
🐣 live animals require long term financial and medical support so please consider the care of the life of the animal notnjustvthebjoy of the hokiday
🍫 chocolate is VERY TOXIC to dogs, it’s has a deadly long term ramifications to canines.
🍞 hot cross buns can also be deadly if they contain dried fruits
🪺Easter egg hunts are fun HOWEVER finding a plastic egg in your dogs tummy is not. Be sure to count how many eggs are in the yard before hiding them so you don’t need to have us find it through an X-ray later!
