【Speaker Intro】

📍Economic animal – Dr. Olga Witkowska-Piłaszewicz

Dr. Olga Witkowska-Piłaszewicz graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Warsaw, Poland in 2016 with honorous and in 2019 she defended the PhD thesis also with honorous. Currently she is an assistant professor at the Institute of Veterinary Medicine at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland.

In 2022 Dr. Olga Witkowska became an expert in the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE) in the field of clinical science (companion animals) whose vision is that veterinary education is based on high quality standards, research and innovation. She is a Polish specialist in veterinary laboratory diagnostic. In addition, she is a practitioner in companion animals’ practice. Despite young age she is a well recognized specialist in immunology with a focus in equine exercise.

Dr. Olga Witkowska-Piłaszewicz於2016年以優異成績畢業於波蘭華沙獸醫學院，並於2019年以優異成績通過了博士論文，目前擔任波蘭華沙生命科學大學獸醫學研究所的助理教授，2022年她成為EAEVE臨床科學（伴侶動物）領域的專科醫師，也她是波蘭獸醫實驗室診斷專科，儘管年紀輕，她是公認的馬匹運動免疫學專家。

🔎 Back to the basics: What’s your Neurolocalization?
🗣 Hsuan-Ping (Sissy) Hong

In clinical neurology, disease of specific locations of the nervous system presents with distinctive signs. In this talk, we will use case-based examples to demonstrate the approach for neurolocalization, determine the lesions within either the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system (nerve, neuromuscular junction, and muscle), and discuss in depth some of the more common neuroanatomic pathways in clinical patients.

在臨床神經學中，不同位置的疾病會有不同的病徵，在此堂課中將會以臨床病例來講解神經定位、神經系統病變及常見的神經解剖路徑，對神經有興趣千萬不要錯過洪教授的這堂課🤝。

【Speaker Intro】

📍ER – Dr. Ta Ying Debra Liu

Dr. Ta Ying Debra Liu is a Diplomate of American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. She obtained the Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, and continued her training by completing a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at the University of Minnesota. She obtained board certification by the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2012.

Dr. Liu has authored multiple manuscripts and textbook chapters on acute respiratory distress syndrome, fluid therapy, nutrition in septic peritonitis, feline spontaneous pneumothorax, and toxicities.

劉大瑩醫師2005年獲得愛荷華州獸醫學院的獸醫學博士學位，並在明尼蘇達大學完成小動物醫學和外科實習，於2012取得專科認證。劉醫師撰寫過許多關於急性呼吸窘迫綜合徵、液體治療、化膿性腹膜炎營養、貓自發性氣胸和毒性的發表與教科書章節。

📍Oncology – Dr. Takuo Ishida

Dr. Takuo Ishida is the son of Dr. Kiichi Ishida, a Professor of Veterinary Pathology at the University of Tokyo. After finishing his veterinary education at a private veterinary school in Tokyo, he then was accepted at the University of Tokyo, Graduate School for PhD degree.

Dr. Takuo Ishida was hired as the Assistant Specialist at the Oncology Section of the Department of Surgery, University of California, Davis, and started research in FeLV with Drs. Gordon Theilen and Niels Pedersen.

In 1998, he established the Japanese Board of Veterinary Practitioners (JBVP), and served as the President for more than 20 years. He is currently at Akasaka Animal Hospital in Tokyo as the Medical Director and is the President of Japan Veterinary Cancer Society (JVCS), and the Japanese Society of Feline Medicine (JSFM). He is also an Executive Board Member and the President-Elect at FASAVA while offering many CPD lectures in Japan, Taiwan, China, and Korea.

Dr. Takuo Ishida是東京大學獸醫病理學教授Dr. Kiichi Ishida的兒子，他畢業於東京一所私立獸醫學院，並於東京大學取得博士學位，隨後到UC Davis擔任助理專業技術人員，並開始研究FeLV，回到日本後，他回到母校擔任副教授，教授受到認證的臨床病理，並且繼續研究FeLV/FIV與FIP。

1998年，Dr. Takuo Ishida創立JBVP並擔任理事長超過二十年，他現在是JVCS與JSFM的理事長，他也是FASAVA的執行委員與理事長，同時還在日本、台灣、中國、韓國等地授課🧑‍🏫。

🔎 Interventional Therapy In Dogs With Patent Ductus Arteriosus "Old And New Occlusion Method"
🗣 Chang Baig Hyun

Patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) is the most common congenital heart defect in toy and small dogs. The typical PDA can be surgically ligated or closed by transcatheter techniques using thrombogenic coils or an occluder. Determining the appropriate treatment is dependent on ductal morphology, patient size, operator experience, and owner preference. Advantages include lower morbidity, shorter hospitalization, and faster recovery.

開放性動脈導管是小型犬與玩賞犬最常見的先天性心臟疾病，典型的PDA可以用經導管技術治療，選擇適當的治療取決於導管形態、病患體型、獸醫師的經驗…等，其優點包含併發症機率低、住院時間短和恢復速度快。

【Speaker Intro】

📍Nutrition – Dr. Chih-Fan Chiang

Dr. Chih-Fan Chiang graduated from National Taiwan University. He obtained his master’s degree in preventive veterinary medicine from the University of California, Davis. He then pursued his interest, took residency training in small animal clinical nutrition at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at UC Davis, and became the first board-certified veterinary nutritionist closely working with veterinarians in Taiwan.

Dr. Chiang has conducted prospective and retrospective studies focusing on canine and feline nutrition, and published his work in peer-reviewed journals. He actively participates in international conferences, and serves on the Nutrition Maintenance of Credentials Committee at the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Dr. Chih-Fan Chiang畢業於臺灣大學，並於UC Davis取得碩士學位，他在加州大學戴維斯分校獸醫教學醫院接受了小動物臨床營養的住院醫師培訓，並成為台灣第一位與獸醫密切合作的董事會認證獸醫營養師；他針對犬科動物和貓科動物的營養進行具有前瞻性與回顧性研究並發表於期刊，也積極參與國際會議，並在美國獸醫內科學院的營養證書委員會任職。

🔎 Strategy To Resolve And Prevent Cardiorenal Syndrome In Dogs And Cats With Heart Failure

Cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) is a major complication in dogs with chronic heart failure although it has not been well characterized in veterinary medicine. Recently, there are many types of CRS. In dogs (probably in cardiologist’s view), type 1 and 2 CRS are the most common types in clinical fields. Earlier recognition of CRS is crucial for management of CRS in dogs. You may learn more about CRS in this lecture.

📍Pain management – Dr. Paulo Steagall

Dr. Paulo Steagall is a Professor of Veterinary Anesthesiology and Pain Management at the City University of Hong Kong and the Université de Montréal. He is a board-certified specialist by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. He is a previous member of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) Global Pain Council, and current co-chair of the WSAVA Therapeutic Guidelines Group, the 2022 International Society of Feline Medicine Consensus Guidelines on Acute Pain Management and the FECAVA Basic Best Practices in Anaesthesia and Analgesia. He has published over 130 scientific articles on pain management and the book “Feline Anesthesia and Pain Management” while lecturing internationally.

Dr. Paulo Steagall是香港城市大學和蒙特利爾大學的獸醫麻醉學和疼痛管理教授，為ACVAA認證的專科醫師，他是WSAVA Global Pain Council的前成員，也是現任WSAVA Therapeutic Guidelines Group的co-chair，他發表過超過130篇期刊論文並撰寫《Feline Anesthesia and Pain Management》一書

🔎 Holter Monitoring And Cardiac Pacing In Small Animals
🗣 Chang Baig Hyun

The Holter monitor is a type of portable electrocardiogram (ECG) and records the electrical activity of the heart continuously over 24 hours. It can be applied for patients with a history of syncope (fainting) or abnormal or irregular heart rhythms. In this lecture, Dr. Chang Baig Hyun will introduce these devices with some clinical cases.

Pacemakers are electronic devices that stimulate the heart with electrical impulses to maintain or restore a normal heartbeat. Although the medical cost and the complexity of pacing programming are major barriers in veterinary area, cardiac pacing is the best therapeutic option for symptomatic bradyarrhythmias in dogs.

Holter monitor是一種方便攜帶的心電圖，可以連續紀錄24小時內心臟的電生理活動，可用於有昏/暈厥病史或有心律異常的病患，在這堂課程中，講師將會用臨床病例來介紹此儀器的使用；而Pacemakers是用電脈衝來刺激心臟以維持或恢復正常心跳的設備，雖然費用較高且較為複雜，它仍是治療犬有症狀之緩慢性心律失常的最佳選擇💡。
