The wren is a tiny brown bird, although it is heavier and not as slim as the even smaller goldcrest. It is dumpy, almost rounded, with a fine bill, quite long legs and toes, very short round wings and a short, narrow tail which is sometimes cocked up vertically. For such a small bird it has a remarkably loud voice.

They feed almost exclusively on ants and unlike other woodpeckers, are seen mainly on the ground, and do not often climb up vertical trunks or branches. They are listed under Schedule 1 of The Wildlife and Countryside Act.

A distinctive lark with yellow and black face markings and black 'horns' (feather tufts) in breeding plumage. They are almost exclusively coastal birds. Numbers vary greatly from one winter to the next. In a good year, a few hundred may be present, but in others they can be very scarce. Watch for them shuffling their way across shingle and sandy beaches.

Short-eared owls are medium sized owls with mottled brown bodies, pale under-wings and yellow eyes. They are commonly seen hunting during the day. In winter, there is an influx of continental birds (from Scandinavia, Russia, Iceland) to northern, eastern, and parts of central southern England, especially around the coast. They are of European conservation concern and so are an Amber List species.

Serins are small finches with short stubby bills and forked tails. Both sexes have streaky yellow brown upper parts, paler streaked under parts and lemon yellow rumps. Males have bright yellow heads with darker patches on the crown and below the eye, females and juveniles are much duller. They have been recorded annually in the UK in small numbers since the 1960s and have bred sporadically since the 1970s (Devon, Dorset, Sussex, East Anglia and the Jersey) but no more than one or two pairs a year.

ТЕСТО "КАК ПУХ" ДЛЯ ЛЮБОЙ ВЫПЕЧКИ

Ингредиенты:
1 стакан - кефира,
0.5 стакана - растительного масла,
1 пакетик (11 граммов) сухих дрожжей,
1 ч.- ложка соли,
1 ст. ложка - сахара,
3 стакана- муки

Приготовление:

Кефир смешать с маслом и немного подогреть, добавить соль и сахар,муку просеять и смешать с дрожжами, влить постепенно кефирную смесь и замесить тесто, накрыть и поставить в тепло на 30 минут. Пока тесто будет подходить, можно приготовить начинку. Противень застелить промасленной бумагой, сформовать пирожки, укладывать на противень швом вверх. Пока нагревается духовка. дать им немного расстояться (минут 10), затем смазать пирожки яйцом.

Выпекать при температуре 180-200 градусов до золотистого цвета.

Из этого теста можно печь абсолютно все: пиццу, пирожки, булочки (в тесто можно добавить ваниль, чуть больше сахара и немного растопленного маргарина).
Тесто всегда получается.
