Shelter Ugolyok: Animal Rescue and Farm Sanctuary, Ukraine

I decided not to cut the video too much—maybe some of you will find it interesting to see more of Pokrovsk, the search for the cats, and the process of catching them. They weren’t always eager to cooperate, not knowing what awaited them next. But in the end, 30 cats made it safely to me—all the way to Khmelnytskyi Oblast, where we also evacuated from Chornobaivka. Right now, they are all in quarantine. They have a separate room where they can rest and recover in peace. Unfortunately, the room still needs renovation, and progress is slow, but it has a new window, heating, and is dry and clean. The house itself had been abandoned for over 10 years, so we were able to arrange a payment plan with the owners, allowing us to gradually pay everything out. So we started to rebuild life—both for ourselves and for the animals. That’s why the walls still don’t look great, but we’re working on it! The next steps: treating all the cats for parasites, monitoring their health (so far, they look okay), and beginning spaying and neutering. Those who need veterinary care will also get it. About important! Just few words about a boring part of our life - every day care of animals! As well as the mission itself keeps on going only if we have enough of support! Rescues happen only if we find enough sponsors to insure safety of animals we are accepting in! All previous years of experience there were very different times mostly difficult ones and very difficult. Lots of hard work with cold and cruel world around!
