Lucky Horse is a stable in Uzhhorod, which is in need of support for food, medicine and provisional stalls. My name is Tamara Pekařová and I am a Czech citizen who has lived in Ukraine for many years. As I am now a fluent speaker of the Ukrainian language and in a position to help refugees and friends I know there who could not leave. Specifically, I left Uzhhorod, where my best friends have a sta
ble called Lucky Horse, a place that normally brings people pleasure, joy and beautiful experiences and lovingly cares for horses. Sadly Lucky Horse is in trouble now, as the owners only had the meager income from providing lessons and rides, all of which has abruptly stopped due to this horrible conflict. Now, not only do they not have enough income for their own horses, but they are also being asked by many desperate people from besieged parts of Ukraine to take in and [hopefully] temporarily house their horses. They wish to help, but they need funding to build simple stalls, provide food and basic medical care. I appreciate the urgency required to address this enormous humanitarian crisis, and I am working with aid groups by providing interpreting and other assistance to incoming refugees, but I also wish to try to help these innocent animals caught up in this terrible life and death situation. Renata Beneš and her husband Andrej are the owners of the Lucky Horse stable. Renata has loved horses since she was a child and her whole life revolves around them. Renata and Andrej are alone in tending to the eight horses now in their family stable. These are simple wonderful people with big hearts who remain in Ukraine to care for their horses and any others they can provide safe haven. The funds we seek will be used to feed and house as many horses as possible in this difficult time, meaning transportation, food, medicine, supplies and materials to build basic protective housing. The stories of the cruelty being experienced by other loving horse owners to the east seeking help is heartbreaking and this demands fast action. I am raising funds for collection in Czech and buying the physical horse food here and shipping it to Ukraine via other organizations delivering all manner of dog, cat and other animal food by rail and van. We have been successful with the first two shipnents, that have literally been the lifeline for the Lucky Horses and so many animals in distress. Designated funds will be sent by wire as possible, but I will also be making personal trips as necessary and possible to deliver money. Funds can be sent to my account in Czech. Also, through my friend Brian Francis Reagan, checks can be sent to his sister Sara Kolek in the USA, which she will transfer. As it remains possible at the moment for people in Ukraine, you can send funds directly to Renata. Please contact me, Brian and/or Renata (UKR/RUS language) for all necessary information and assurances. We will make sure every penny/crown and hryvnia is used directly for food, medical supplies and building materials and will publish an accounting. Thank you so much for your kind consideration.
