Hello friends and happy Sunday!
We got our first snow this weekend! ❄️☃️

With snow and bad weather season here, it also means it’s bad roads season too.
If we get bad weather and I feel it is unsafe to get the trailer out and about, I will contact those that have scheduled appointments and either you can bring your dog to my house and drop off or we can reschedule.
Unfortunately, rescheduling is difficult as I am currently booked out until mid-January. Please be patient as I try to navigate working with the weather and keeping myself, your dogs and the trailer safe.

Hello friends happy Monday!

I did have an cancellation for Wednesday, November 1st at 8am!
This can be for one to two small/medium dogs.

Hi Friends!

Now that the cat is out of the bag, that my family and I are expecting a new addition in April, I did want to go over some new changes that will be coming to Western Wags.

🐾 I will be closing for maternity leave from April to July of 2024. Please book accordingly to ensure your pups are taken care of before I take my leave.
- I am beginning the process of considering hiring another professional groomer to take over while I am gone and work part time when I come back to help ensure everyone is able to get their dogs taken care of. There is nothing set in stone to this, but I do want to let everyone know to keep an eye on my page for possible future announcements.

🐾 I have already mentioned, but I will be taking Mondays off beginning in November. My new schedule will be Tuesday - Thursday from 8-4.

🐾 I am still no longer taking new clients for the time being. I plan to continue to work until I physically cannot anymore. I will be backing off some of my bigger breed dogs as I need to care for my body and bigger dogs are just harder when you have a big ol belly in the way! If this affects you, I will be contacting you personally to let you know. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Western Wags will be closed from Monday December 25 to Thursday Dec 28th for Christmas Break.

We will resume normal business hours on January 2nd.

Due to my very full schedule, I am unable to accept anymore new clients at this time. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

It’s fair week! I’m sure everyone is busy enjoying all the sunshine and fun! I hope everyone enjoys a great weekend up ahead!
Just a few reminders from Western Wags!

I am currently booking into the middle of September! Please prebook your grooming appointments to ensure you are able to get a day and time that works best for you!

Please note, payment is due at time of service!
If you are unable to pay for your dogs grooming at time of service, you have two days to get the payment to me. After two days there is a $20 charge and $10 a day after three days. Cash or check is preferred but I am able to accept card if need be.

I have been finding a lot of ticks on dogs as of recent. I will absolutely notify you if I find a tick in your dog during a service. If I do find a flea or tick during a service, an up charged flea and tick treatment will be mandatory and done automatically. This is to protect my trailer and against potentially infecting other pets. I take pest prevention very seriously and I am very proactive about cleaning and disinfecting after each dog.
Please keep your pet updated on flea and tick treatments.

Lastly, just a reminder, I am no longer accepting new out of Akron clients! If you have an Akron or Otis address, this does not affect you. If you live outside of Akron and I have already groomed your dog or scheduled you, this also does not affect you. This if for new outside clients only.

This summer is crushing right by!

I wanted to let everyone know that I am no longer accepting any NEW out of town clients. So those who live in a surrounding town (Brush, Ft. Morgan, Sterling, Yuma, etc.)
If I have already serviced your dog or if you currently have an appointment scheduled and you live outside of Akron, I will honor those appointments.
If you live in Akron, but out of town limits, this does not affect you.

I am just getting too busy to continue to take in new clients that require a lengthy drive.

Hi friends, I would just like to let all of my clients know that from here on out,
If it rains and the roads get muddy, I will no longer be traveling on county roads.
You are always welcome to bring your dog into town to me or we can reschedule if this affects you.
It is just to dangerous for me to travel with my grooming trailer down the muddy, wet roads.
This is only for when it rains and get muddy.

Hello Friends!! Summer is officially off and rolling! It is getting hotter by the day! ☀️

Happy Thursday friends!! The week is rounding to a close and we are finally getting some sunshine! ☀️

I did want to let everyone know I am booked out to the last week of July! If you are wanting to get your dog groomed, please prebook your appointments to ensure you get a day and time that work best for you!

Also, fleas and ticks are coming in hot and already I have seen many cases of dogs that have fleas or ticks! I would like to let you know if a flea or tick is found during service, I will automatically do a flea and tick treatment on them for $10.
The treatment that I do kills all living bugs in your dog but does not act as a preventative. You will need to seek vet attention to get your pet set up with a product that will help prevent them from getting fleas and ticks again!

🐾I have limited appointments available left in June!
The only days I have openings are, Monday the 19th and Wednesday the 21st.

☀️I would also like to respectfully ask, if you are planning on dropping your dog off for grooming at my home, please communicate that to me! Unless it is discussed, when I book an appointment the assumption is for me to travel to your home. I am happy to service your dog either way, I just need clear communication so we’re not driving to each others homes!

☀️As a friendly reminder, with summer rolling around, it may be time to update your pet on vaccinations and pest control! Please have your pet up to date on vaccinations in order to be groomed! Contact your vet to get an appointment to do so if you’re still needing that done this year!!

Happy Monday! It’s the beginning of another glorious week! ☀️

I wanted to just send out some friendly reminders! 🐾

Western Wags hours are Monday through Thursday from 8am to 5pm!

If you call or text me and I do not answer, please give me some patience, I will absolutely reach back out to you as soon as I possibly can!

I am booking up very quickly, if you are wanting to get your dog groomed, please prebook your appointments so you are able to get a day and time that works best for you!
As of right now, I am booked through to the middle of May!

Pricing for grooms is first based upon breed, size of dog and service being booked. The final price can fluctuate depending on size of dog, type of coat they have, condition of the coat and skin and behavior of your dog.
To ensure a consistent price, maintaining a 6-8 week schedule is recommended. Grooms that are over 9 weeks may be subject to price increases, depending on the dog.
Things that can affect your price are conditions of matting, difficult behavior, mud or f***s, grease or chronic skin conditions.
For travel, I offer 20 miles within the town of Akron for free, every mile beyond that is $1 there and back. To travel to your home, I will need a place to plug into, if that cannot be offered, I do have a generator, however there is a $5 an hour charge.
