Senior Sunday! Meet Duke! He is TWELVE years old and somehow ended up back at the shelter 😔 Duke has no faults. He is great with kids and other dogs. Keeps a spotless kennel and loves nothing more than to just lay on your lap. We haven't heard him make a peep while he's been here either. This little pitty is looking for a sweet family to take him in during his golden years. 3 weeks in the shelter is long enough! Apply for Duke on our website below

Bonnie & June💜

These sweet senior girls were found in a condemned house, only having each other for comfort💔. Bonnie is estimated at 11yrs. old & June at 8yrs. old. Both girls appear to be border collie mixes. June is a little more playful, while Bonnie is a bit timid at first but warms up quickly. They are unbelievably sweet and so adorable!! They play great together and shared their toys nicely. We even caught them both curled up in their dog house snuggling😭. How on earth did they find themselves at an overly full county pound????

If he you ask him to sit, he will oblige plus raise his paw to shake. He is a sweet guy who doesn't deserve to be without a home and a caring family. You will love him. His legs are weak at times and he acts like his joints might be hurting him. He is a sweet guy who loves treats, but he has had too many treats and he could stand to lose a few pounds. Sadly, senior Travis lost his owner who passed away leaving him homeless. He is a neutered pit mix who is 9 years old and 60 #.
Please help us share to help Travis out of a full pound and into a loving home to spend his senior years.

Senior alert! Hank is a senior in need of a great new home or rescue. An owner has not come for him and he is now available for adoption. He is a neutered pit mix who is 8-10 years old and 76 #.

Chewy is a sweet senior hound we have here. We noticed some lumps and took him in to be checked out. They turned out to be fatty tumors and his blood work is normal.
This guy would love a couch to lay on and minimal steps to climb.

Senior dogs are often the last to get adopted. But they have lots of love to give! Here are some reasons why you should consider adopting a senior dog.

- They tend to be calmer and more laid back.
- They tend to be less destructive.
- They are often already trained.
- They typically have less expensive adoption fees.
- They love to cuddle and make the perfect couch companion.
- They have a lot of life still left to live and deserve to do so in a loving home.

❤️❤️ Little Bear has been adopted!! ❤️❤️

All jokes aside, some dogs shouldn’t be in a shelter environment. Little Bear is definitely one of those dogs. He is a blind little old man who just wants love and cuddles for his last chapter. I’m sure he has loved his whole life and he deserves so much better than this. Who is room in their heart and home for a sweet older gentleman who just needs a comfy spot to relax? Walter is a treasure of a dog, who will make a delightful companion for anyone with a soft spot for silver muzzles. He is an easy-going boy who seems to delight in simple things like relaxed walks and butt scratches. While Walter still has plenty of pup and s***k to keep things fun, he seems like he would be a great fit for someone seeking a dog that's lower-key. Walter did fine for his time in play group with other dogs - he mostly just hunt around, and would likely prefer company that isn't too energetic. Walter deserves to spend his golden years in comfort - we know he will return the favor with unending love! Walter is estimated to be around 9 years old and weighs 45 lbs.

Meet Otis!! He was surrendered to the shelter on 12/20/21. His owner moved to a condo where dogs are not allowed. Otis is about 14 years old. He is neutered and housetrained. His owner said he was good with kids and okay with some dogs but needs a home without cats. He is blind in one of his eyes. He is shy and scared to be at the shelter which is very understandable. He will warm up to you if you spend time with him in the playroom and walk him outside. He is available for adoption so hurry in to meet him!

Meet Jingle!! He came in as a stray on 12/13/21. We think he is a senior judging by his teeth. He was in poor shape when he came to the shelter.
He went to the vet and he has a skin infection, double ear infection, and chronic dry eye. He is on meds for all of that. He will need a special someone willing to take on the extra costs and time needed to care for him.
He is super sweet. He is available for adoption so hurry in to meet him!

Meet Emery!! She came in as a stray on 12/1/21. We think she is a senior judging by her teeth. Our hearts break for this sweet girl. She was wearing a dog license so she had to be held for 14 days. Her owner was aware she was here but didn't come get her or sign off on her. She is finally through her hold period and we are anxious to find her a home where she will be loved and cherished. She is very shy with new people and new situations, so she should be considered a flight risk. She is super sweet and affectionate once she is comfortable with you.
