Kenny is a mixed dog that we think is around 1 year old. He currently weighs 55 pounds and is very friendly. We have Kenny scheduled to see our vet next week and will be ready for adoption soon. If you would like more information on Kenny please call Ben at 660-254-4434.

You can't buy love, but you can rescue it! During the month of February, will accept donations during business hours for the local Albany Animal Shelter. The items needed are Dawn dish soap, laundry soap, MFA Gold Pro pet food, leashes, and collars.

Update: He has been returned to his owner. This sweet Lab & maybe Border Collie mix pup was brought in from Stanberry yesterday afternoon. We think he is around 5-6 months old. Very sweet pup with a lot energy. If you know who he belongs to please call Ben at 660-254-4434.

Update: The owner has been found. This Black Lab was found on highway 136 just a few miles east of Albany. He is all black with a little bit of gray around his mouth and he did have an orange collar on him when he came in. If you know who his owner is please contact Ben at 660-254-4434.

Over the weekend I received news that Jasper was adopted. He was only at Sioux Fall Area Humane Society for a week. They do an excellent job of finding new homes for dogs and so do all of our other rescues that we send dogs too.

I receive a message from Casey's owner this morning. She is now called Babe and is doing great. She enjoys daily forehead scratches and lounging by the fireplace. I just love hearing about our former shelter dogs.

We got some great news this morning. Rider is going to be transferred to Fur Fun Rescue in Lisbon IA as soon as transport is arranged. I'm so happy for this guy. He will be placed in a foster home and will be up for adoption.

Jake was adopted last Thursday by a wonderful couple from the St. Louis area. He is fitting in with his new family and playing with his new brother and sisters. As soon as I get pictures I will post them.

Weather final allowed Jasper and I meet his transport to Sioux Falls Area Humane Society yesterday. Sioux Falls Humane Society does an excellent job of finding homes for all of their animals.

Buddy is a 5 year old Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler mix that was surrendered to us on January 12th. The reason he was surrendered is because he was chasing cattle. Buddy is very energetic and friendly dog. He has already been neutered and is scheduled to be vaccinated and heart worm tested on January 26th. Amera is a two year old Pit Bull that was recently surrendered. She has been spayed already and is up to date on her vaccinations. Amera needs a home without small children and we are not sure how she does with other dogs yet. We are trying to let her settle in before start introducing other dogs to her. This is Jake. He is a 10 to 11 week Great Pyrenees and currently weighs 20 pounds. He is a very sweet pup and is schedule to go to the vet next week. We currently have 12 dogs in the shelter as of today. Everyone has been spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and heart wormed tested. We did have two dogs test positive for heart worms. Both dogs are in the early stage of having heart worms and are doing well with their treatment. If you are looking to adopt a new best friend please call Ben at 660-254-4434.
