Aries is our dog of the week he is a 2 year old American Staffordshire & American Bulldog that weighs around 80 pounds. Aries does well with most other dogs and has a great personality. Sasha was transferred to Dolly's Legacy over the weekend. She will be in a foster home until she finds her forever home. I'm so happy for her.

Kenny our dog of the week for January 20th- I first met Kenny on a cold February morning. We were having a hard time catching him, but finally he came to me. I don't know if someone abuse him or if he is just leery of men. He has made great progress the last few months. He loves playing fetch and playing with other dogs. I think Kenny might be an Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. He is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, heart worm free, and is on a preventative for heart worms, fleas, & ticks. Shadow is our dog of the week for January 13th: Please meet our long time resident at the shelter. Shadow has been in our shelter since June of 2023. He is a big, goofy, funny, loving, and stubborn Black Lab & Boxer mix. He does well with female dogs, but he is not a fan of other male dogs. Shadow is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, heart worm free, and is on a preventative for heart worms, hook worms, fleas, & ticks. His adoption fee only $25. Goose is our dog of the week. He is a 4-5 year old Border Collie mix that currently weighs 58 pounds. Goose is a very intelligent and loving dog. When we got him he was depressed and scared of everything. It took a little while before he started to trust us, but now he wants to play or a good ear rub. Goose loves to play with other dogs especially his buddy Bono. If you are looking for someone that will love you unconditionally please come meet Goose. 2024 was a very busy year at the shelter. We had 23 dogs adopted and 44 dogs transferred to a rescue. Over 100 dogs have been in the shelter this past year. We currently have 11 dogs and 8 are ready to be adopted. 3 dogs are on stray hold. Shadow the black boxer/lab mix has been in the shelter for 19 months. Kenny the brown Australian shepherd mix has been in the shelter for 11 months. December was a rough month for these two dogs. Brownie the little guy we think was caught in a trap and hurt his paw. Moo Moo was surrendered a couple of weeks ago. Both dogs were scared to death of being in the shelter. Their lucked changed this week after our contact reached out to Fur Fun Rescue. Moo Moo made the trip yesterday to her new foster family. Brownie went to his new foster home today. Fur Fun has helped us so many times the last 2 1/2 years. I appreciate everything they do for our shelter dogs.

We got news over the weekend that The Animal Rescue Alliance in Kansas City is placing Chico in a foster home this Friday. I'm so happy for this little guy.
