🎉🐐 Exciting news from Cherrywell Quillet!

At 2 AM this Friday, Jovie FINALLY decided to throw a surprise party and delivered a HUGE single buckling with all the flair of a drama queen—five days overdue! Talk about dramatic timing! 😴💤

This little bundle of joy is a is our first kid out of Moorheart’s Weslee *B, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Jovie’s udder is looking fabulous, making her a true showstopper, and we can’t wait to bring her back to the ring this year! Who knew parenting came with such late-night antics and such adorable results? 🍼✨ Here’s to Jovie and her little star—may they steal the spotlight together! 🌟

(PS - look at how big he is compared to Juliet with the red collar in the third photo. She is 3 weeks old! 🤯)

New Additions to the Farm: Meet Our Cotton Patch Geese! 🪶

After years of planning (and plenty of goose-related daydreaming), we’re thrilled to welcome two breeding pairs of Cotton Patch Geese to Cherrywell Quillet! These rare, heritage birds were once essential farm helpers in the South, known for their gentle nature, excellent weeding skills, and strong parenting instincts. But as modern farming changed, their numbers dwindled—making them a conservation priority today.

Our young flock is settling in beautifully, and we’re eager to see if they’ll grace us with eggs and goslings this season. Will we have tiny, fluffy arrivals soon, or will they keep us in suspense? Only time (and the geese) will tell!

Stay tuned for updates—and send good vibes for baby geese!

Mardi Gras Mode: PERMANENT 🎭🐐

While the rest of us are moving on from Fat Tuesday, Cherrywell’s Jovian Pursuit is still living large—three days overdue and fully committed to staying fat and fabulous. This F3 Mini Nubian is supposed to be a first freshener, but so far, all she’s freshening is her snack supply.

We keep reminding her that *Moorheart’s Weslee B did his job, but she’s out here like, “Eh, maybe tomorrow.” Will today be the day? Next week? Next Mardi Gras?! Stay tuned—if she ever decides to evict those babies, we’ll let you know!

Love & Laughter in the Barn… and the House! ❤️🐐❤️

We’re thrilled to (belatedly) announce the arrival of twin Valentine’s Day doelings here at Cherrywell Quillet! Born on February 14 to our wonderful Soaring Heart’s 1st VP Kamala 2*P and sired by Daystar’s Sir Jethro *B, these tiny sweethearts made their debut in a smooth, quick delivery—arriving healthy, happy, and full of life. We’re calling them Miss Americana and Only the Young (who we’ve nicknamed Hope).

Since then, they’ve been living the ultimate bottle baby dream, spending the past two weeks in the house with their “big sister,” Juliette (Cherrywell’s RF Love Story). Our little farm hands have been absolutely smothering them with love, and these three have become the most adorable, mischievous trio—zooming through the house, napping in laps, and perfecting their tiny headbutts.

We can’t wait to watch them grow, but for now, we’re soaking up every moment of this bottle baby chaos! Who else would love to have baby goats running around their house? 😆 Drop a 🐐 if you’d be up for the challenge!

🌸✨ A Love Story Worth Waiting For! ✨🌸

Some surprises are just too sweet not to share… and this one had us completely stunned! 💕

On February 13, we welcomed a beautiful Nubian doe into the world—a baby we never expected! Woops! 🫣We thought her dam, Urban Acres Lady in Red (Julia), didn’t settle from her AI breeding… but she had a surprise of her own!

Meet Cherrywell’s RF Love Story—barn name Juliet, our little pre-Valentine’s miracle. She’s extra special because she’s our first-ever AI baby here at Cherrywell Quillet, sired by These Girls Rock N The Freeway!

We’ve been soaking up every moment with her before sharing the news, and we can’t wait to watch her grow. She’s already full of s***k, snuggles, and just the right amount of drama—just like any good Juliet should be! 😉

Help us welcome our little surprise with some 💕 in the comments!

We still have some very nice keeper goats we’re making available for discussion - only in order to lighten our load prior to an upcoming surgery. These are not culls, but will be bargain priced to get them to new barns by the end of the month.

We are in Albany, OR andcan help with transportation within a few hours, or happy to work with transport. All goats are registered.

Pm for more info! (Photos are from summer - all goats have grown 😊)

Hello friends - long time, no post from the Quillet!! 👋🏽

We’ve had a bit of a strange last several months, and have dealt with a (actually almost comical) number of struggles in a wide variety of areas - including, but not limited to, human health, animal health, farm facilities, home facilities, work, family and more! But never fear - we’re still here!!

It’s going to be a significantly reduced kidding season for us this year with only a few does freshening. We’re taking a bit of a breather so we can regroup, possibly relocate, reset and get back to full speed next year.

With all of this (and an excellent presentation at the Roseburg Dairy Goat Club’s Goat Edication Day), plus an upcoming surgery for one of our humans, we’ve realized we need to do some tough and significant reductions in the herd. We have a few adult does, some coming yearling doelings, and a buck that we will be making available for much less than they’re worth in order to get them moved by March. Send us a pm if interested in the list - we have Mini Nubians and Standards looking for greener pastures 👀🏡.

Happy goating! We will hopefully be back to being much more engaged on our socials, and we look forward to reconnecting in 2025 🐐🍒

We finally have a weekend with a bit of down time, so need to post about our last few available goats. We have a handful of cute mini Nubian pet wethers, and some pet does still 👀🏠, as well as two mature Mini Nubian does (one currently in milk) that we are making available in order to make room for our keeper doelings this year.

Pm for details. Discounts for youth or miltiple goat package deals 😊

Albany, OR - happy to help transport on the way to a show or within a couple hours, or work with reputable transport companies. Clean tested herd.

Had a great time at the Pacific Northwest Mini Dairy Goat Club Summer Sensational show in Longview this weekend! Thanks so much to the club for doing the work to bring this show back! Shoutout to Sarah C. Donaldson for leading the charge! We love having the opportunity to compete with our Minis and spend time with our goat friends.

The goats did great this weekend, and we were pleased with all the feedback we received.

Here are some highlights:

Windswept’s Frances Houseman (“Baby”) won GCH Mini Nubian and Best Sr. Doe in Show in both rings. She also won best Mini Nubian Udder and Best Udder in Show under judge Jeanne Carson.

Soaring Heart’s Raspberry Beret won Reserve Grand Champion Mini Nubian under judge Amy Akramoff (she ceded that title to her full sister Purple Polka Dot in the other ring 😊).

Soaring Heart’s Dolomite *B won GCH Mini Nubian buck and best buck in show in both rings.

Cherrywell’s Twilight Sparkle looked lovely and won first place milking yearling in both rings, but couldn’t compete with the more mature does in the champion lineup.

Cherrywell’s SHD Shake It Off won first place medium buckling(?) [the class was Jan-March bucklings] in both rings.

We love working with our goats and seeing their potential pay off, but we also love seeing everyone’s beautiful animals in person. Until next time! 🍒 🐐

We have several bottle-raised Mini Nubian wethers and some yearling pet-quality does looking for new pastures!! 🏡 These goats would be great for brush clearing, petting zoos or therapy, or as 4-H projects. We would love for them to find their new families sooner than later!!

Discounted 💲for multiple goats and/or youth.

Clean tested herd, and all goats are well socialized and friendly! Younger boys can be brought back for banding and vaccines at no extra charge.

Transport available north from Albany to WA several weekends in the next few weeks 🛻

Red is less flashy than his brother, but carries the same heavy-hitting genetic potential! Dam is likely to earn her milk star this year, so he has potential to earn his *B.
