Proud to say that graduating from United States K-9 Academy is the finest Dog Training School for Professional and Master Trainers there was. Jack Healy, James Salva and the many Professional students over the years were incredible. Dog training was and is a Art that requires being able to read each dog as a individual and adjust method accordingly. Much of training today is based on board and Train using a E Collar as a means for all. Real dog training is hands on developing a relationship with the dog through motivation and proper technique. Always look at how a client's dog responds to the Trainer. The dog should have a very open happy attitude and be eager to work. Look at video and watch the dogs behavior. That will tell you everything!!!!

Now that school has started. It's time to send your pet to school also. I have been off due to the hot weather. But will be starting back up once the weather gets cooler for us and the dogs to be out. Thanks to all that have been supported of me. Hope to see ya'll back soon.

My Background

My name is Hugh Patterson. Not only am I an avid dog-trainer, I am also a dog-lover. I have owned Dobermans, Rottweilers, and German Shepherds. We recently moved down to Lucedale, and I provide obedience school dog training, as well as protection training. I offer classes with several clients participating at the same time in a group setting, as well as private lessons for one-on-one interaction with you and your dog. There is no better way for a canine and their owner to bond than through obedience training. Dogs love a job to do, and if you give that to them, not only will your life with your pet be as fulfilling as it can be, yourself and your dog will share a bond unlike any other. I take a “praise-based” approach to training your canine, not “fear-based.” I want your dog to respect you as their owner, not fear you.

I am a certified trainer. I graduated from the United States Canine Academy, located in Reamstown, WA, in December of ‘89, so I have been working with dogs for a very long time.

I trained under Jack Healey. You may recognize him as the man that trained Cesar Millan. I was taught the same techniques and concepts. I have always had a gift for working with dogs, and I would love to pass that on to my clients as they try to learn to work with their own pets.
