The best free session I ever did!

While going through certification 3 years ago in the bitter cold I asked with my farrier with an indoor to use his horses as assignment horses.

He was a non believer but I convinced him it couldn't hurt.

Post sessions he said his horses never stood so well to be shod.

To this day he single handedly sends me the most recommendations and I am greatly appreciative he let me use his horses for practice.

Happy horses stand well for the farrier :)

Beware of slips trips and falls!

We all know the horses will be feeling good with this warm front moving in making lots of mud!

Just like us a slip can leave them feeling sore. Don't forget to have you horse checked in the spring time to start your season off right 💜🐴💜

How many 3D horses could be in the 1D?

Personally I owned a horse that could lay down a run. Then she'd fall to the 3D.

That meant it was time for a Masterson session! It was almost like magic BAM back in the 1D

The other day I was helping a girl work with her horse.

As I was waiting to start the lesson I watched

Her meticulous brush every spec of dirt

Clean every hoof

Apply hoof moisturizer

More brushing

Her mom apologized for me having to wait.

I was so proud to see a little girl showing so much care horse making sure her horse was taken care of I wish more people spent that much time checking every inch of their horse.

There is no bone socket joint in your horses shoulder.

The horses entire front limbs are held on with ligaments and muscles and carry around 60% of body weight!

Masterson can help reduce tension in the shoulder junction increasing mobility.

I always flex my horse when I first get on for 2 reasons.

1. It allows my horse to think about something other than walking off when I get on.

2. I also evaluate my horses motion.

Can they flex equally both ways? All the way to their belly easily?

Do they flatten their head out in order to accomplish the flex?

A quick flexion can show where tension in the neck muscles are and I can determine if they need a Mastersin check.

This week I stepped out of my comfort zone and took a lesson with a professional reiner.

I took my 3 yr old who I felt like I had a pretty good start on. I started warming up my horse getting ready for my lesson......

Reiner asks me "Do you always ride with 2 hands?"

I had a face palm moment.....
No I hadn't ever rode my young horse with 1 hand....why had it not crossed my mind that a reiner would expect that...duh

For future reference. Teach my horse to neck rein BEFORE a reining lesson 🤣

Hey everyone!

In case I haven't gotten the chance to meet you in person yet! Here's a little about myself

I've been a horsemen my whole life and have been lucky enough to compete in rodeos and 4H growing up. I continue to love horses and now spend my time training young horses and running barrels when I'm not chasing around my daughter. The last several years I have been on a journey to find the pieces to push my horses to the next level.

I started attending a variety of clinics and shaddowing field experts.This is when I got into Masterson Method. I had amazing results using a Masteron practicioner on my personal horses and decided to go through the 3 year certification process to become a Masterson practicioner myself.

Masterson has lead me to meet some amazing people and help their horses along the way.
