Lubbuck your winds were wild but that didn’t hold Team Moreland Horses back from having a good time!

Here are a few highlights from the show!

〽️Ella and June swept their cow work and took 1st place with a score of 72!

〽️Kennedy and Whiskey took 3rd place in pleasure with a score of 73.5 and 5th All Around!

〽️Dani and Trixie did an outstanding job in reining, placing 5th with a score of 69 at their very first show together!

〽️Roby and Duke marked a 70 in cutting and 72 in pleasure and 70.5 in the cow work!!

Thank you, Stock Horse Texas, for an unforgettable show at the Kick Off Classic. We encountered a few lessons to take home and work on, but overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

💡Tips to elevate your time in the saddle this Spring:

1️⃣ Expand your warm-up beyond the arena:

Spending time outside the arena before a workout or lesson not only allows you to bond with your horse but also exposes them to different ground surfaces and elements. This is crucial, especially if your usual riding environment is a sandy arena.

2️⃣ Avoid lingering:

Once your horse has grasped a concept, give them time to process. Then, move on to another exercise and revisit the previous one later or on a different day to assess their retention.

3️⃣ Take it slow:

Rushing can lead to overlooking important details. If you’re short on time, opt for simpler activities with your horse. Save more complex exercises for a day when you have ample time to ensure the necessary focus and attention.
