A huge thank you to Coakley Home and Hardware Canton and your staff for making this weekend set of hot dog fundraisers so pleasant and so easy for Spay Neuter Now volunteers! Also thanks to everyone who stopped by and donated and of course to our volunteers!

We are pleased to report that one of the kittens brought over from Kitten Pause TNR in Massena found a new home! 12 more kittens from that colony are still looking for homes!

A huge thank you to Coakley Home and Hardware Canton for hosting us for today's fundraiser and to our volunteers who help make it happen! We even got to see a pet today who got their surgery done through Spay Neuter Now, which is always great to see the animals we help!

We will be back tomorrow (Sat June 15) and Sunday (June 16) from 10am-2pm for more days of hot dogs, soda and cookies for any donations!

Sunday we will also have a few kittens looking for homes brought by Kitten Pause TNR in Massena!

The ASPCA Cornell Maddie's Shelter Medicine conference takes place July 12-14, 2024 in beautiful Ithaca, New York. Registration for the 2024 conference will open in early Spring. We'll share details as they become available.

MCA’s Compliance Program would like to inform the community of an upcoming MASH (Mobile Animal Sterilization Hospital)-Style spay/neuter pop-up clinic with the OSPCA for cats and dogs.

Did you know that Spay Neuter Now, has provided rabies and distemper (FVRCP/DA2PP) vaccinations as part of our spay/neuter packages for the past twenty years?

From our program data for 2011-2023, we have helped vaccinate 11,340 animals (9,888 cats, 1,452 dogs) for rabies!

For distemper vaccinations over the same period we have inoculated 10,399 cats (FVRCP) and 1,737 dogs (DA2PP).

For animals coming through our spay/neuter programs 89% of cats and 56% of dogs will need their rabies vaccinations. For distemper vaccinations that is 94% for cats and 67% for dogs.

Please keep your pets up-to-date on vaccinations. It is so important to protect your pet and your community's pets for rabies and distemper by getting them vaccinated and keeping them up-to-date. Just because your pet is "always indoors" is not an excuse when it comes to vaccinating.

For the past decade Spay Neuter Now, LTD. has asked for donations to support additional discounts to help in-need clients to spay & neuter their cats & dogs. 2024 is our tenth year of our Gift of Spay fundraiser, which will have provided a lifetime total of $42,000 of direct discounts helping North Country Pets.

Last month, Spay Neuter Now, LTD. provided $1600 in Gift of Spay discounts to animals spayed and neutered at a clinic held by St. Regis Falls Cat Palace, helping get 32 cats fixed in the middle of the winter storm!

Dear Clients, next week (October 16-19) we will have limited office hours to answer the phone (315-486-0094) as we attend the 2023 Access to Veterinary Care Conference held by the ASPCA. We were lucky enough to receive a grant to attend and we are hoping to learn ways to help get more spay/neuter assistance out to our community!

A wonderful shelter medicine conference in Ithaca this past weekend hosted by the ASPCA and Maddie’s Fund. It was good to see some other North Country organizations had sent people to the conference as well. Great learning and networking opportunities at this annual event!
