Happy Sunday! I thought I would do another highlight of our other most requested service. Pet sitting! 😊

🐾 We offer either drop in visits or over night stays in your home.
🐾 Having your pet stay in the comfort of your home seems to help their anxiety while you’re gone being in familiar surroundings and their familiar routine.
🐾 We offer meet and greets of the pets before you leave so they get familiar with us and also go over the routine you have for them.
🐾 We can send pictures/updates while you’re away for peace of mind that we are there.
🐾 They get spoiled and treated as if they were our own so you can relax while you’re away knowing they are well taken care of. 😊

I thought I would highlight a service we do to give more information on it. I thought I would start with our most requested appointment: nail trims!

🐾 Using nail clipper or a grinder, we do our best to trim down pet’s nails as short as we can go.
🐾 It is extremely common for pets to not like their feet touched, let alone get their nails trimmed.
🐾 To try to help ease anxiety with nail trims, we try to use a fear free approach with treats, lick mats, praise, knowing when they need a break, and in the comfort of their home.

Our goal is try to make something stressful like nail trims and make it easier for the pet and their owner! Please reach out if you have any questions or to book an appointment! 😊

Hey everyone! Just a friendly reminder we are NOT groomers! The only “grooming” type services we offer are nail trims, mat removals and sanitary shaves. We do not do any other type of grooming! Just wanted to clear that up since we have been getting alot of requests for grooming services.

Also just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone for sharing and supporting our business! It truly means a lot to us to have you trust us with your pets and hopefully making things alittle easier for them and for you! 😊🐾

Also on Thursday we got to trim Stanley’s nails! He did so well. We also trimmed their cat’s Gerdie’s nails too. 🐱 🐾 We love seeing old clients and also meeting new faces! 😊

We got to do nail trims on Keenan and Vern today. They were clients at Country Vet and we so enjoyed seeing them and they did great! Keenan’s giving it 2 paws up! 🐾 Vern is still undecided 😉

We had the pleasure of trimming Ms. Ouisa’s nails and doing an ear cleaning yesterday! She was a client at Country Vet for us and we loved seeing her! She was much more relaxed in her own home environment for her nail trim. 😊 Makes us remember why we started! 🐾

Hello everyone! I put together our equipment bag and thought it would be fun to show you what we have in it! I’m sure things will change as we go, but it works for now! We just wanted to share alittle bit about ourselves so you all have a face to our names! 😊

Hi! I’m Megan, one of the owners of Lakes Area Pet Services. I am from Alexandria and currently live here with my two cats, two rabbits and a mouse. All rescued/adopted. 😊 I graduated from the Veterinary Technology program at Ridgewater College in May of 2023. I became free fear certified through school and I am currently working towards my national certification. I interned at the Bramble Park Zoo and Glacial Lakes Vet Clinic in Watertown, SD. I moved back to MN at the end of 2023 and started at Country Vet where I met Nikki and worked at for a year. Once we heard our vet was retiring, we came up with our business idea! I currently also work part time at the Lakes Area Humane Society and love it there. In my spare time I love to read, hike, play games and take naps with my cats. 😊 I am very excited to start this new journey to hopefully make a positive impact on the community and help pets along the way! 🐾
