Our Story

My breeding program is based on the Kirschental bloodlines, all puppies are sold with limited registration until they have hip, elbows, DM testing and at least a Canine Good Citizen obedience title. Also each puppy or dog comes with free obedience training with the owner. I strive to make sure every owner has the ability to get the very best out of their puppy. I carefully choose the sire and dam in order to produce the best quality possible. I ask the advice from the breeders I know in Germany so I can have the knowledge to choose bloodlines known for producing healthy puppies. I also prefer to cross back to the old bloodlines when I look at the line breeding, these are lines which have become more difficult to find but with careful research they can still be found.

In the rest of the description I have told how we started and where I am today. I am not a big breeder that produces a large quantity of litters and I do help to promote friends with either dogs from me or dogs from the same bloodlines to announce their puppies.

My first German Shepherd‘s wonderful character, acceptance of various situations and how easy he was to train is the reason I fell in love with German Shepherds. At the time when I first met Baron he was a 6 week old puppy, I had no idea about his bloodlines I only saw how loving he was, so I asked his price and as a single mom there was no chance I could justify spending the money to purchase him. The breeder sold him and he was returned due to his being a long coat, at this time long coats were not accepted as they are today. So, the Breeder knowing how much I liked this puppy offered me the opportunity to have him by hauling 2 of his horses needless to say I agreed and Baron made the trips with me. I had no idea how this one puppy would change or influence my future. Baron’s mom: V Valli vom Kirschental SchH 3, was one of the puppies from the well known litters produced from the Kirschental Kennel in Germany, the “V” litter out of VA (BSZS) Xitta vom Kirschental SchH 3 and sired by VA (BSZS) Uran vom Wildsteiger Land SchH 3, at the time I knew nothing about the Kirschental Legacy, only that it was in Germany.

At the age of 5 (1996) Baron was diagnosed with cancer, had surgery to remove it, unfortunately afterwards the prognosis wasn’t the best and he didn’t want to eat. I had told a friend of mine about Baron and she told me to email a police officer that she and her dad knew in Germany and that he may be able to offer advice since he had studied K9 nutrition. I did and thanks to him Baron ate and lived for a few months longer. I also tried to locate the owner of Baron’s sire and with the help of a friend, that lived in GA I was able to contact her. However to get a puppy of the same type of bloodlines was more than I could have ever imagined, I was told $3500.00 for a pet (this was in 1997), so at this time I decided I would like to start breeding and produce good quality puppies at a reasonable price. Through this same friend he got me in contact with a police officer who he knew that had a litter of puppies, this man had a female left in the litter and so I bought Engelchen von Vietz her mother went back to the Kirschental bloodlines and she became my foundation of what my breeding program would become. I needed a name for this new puppy and asked the police officer in Germany to help me choose a German name, he asked me about her character and suggested “Engelchen” it means Little Angel. Engelchen lived a long healthy life she was 15 going on 16, at 11 1/2 she and I did the BH and passed, she taught me so much and saw me through so many things. Achim referred to her as my ”attached at the hip”.
