This is not a joke. This is also not to scare you as dog owners but rather, to help educate and encourage caution. I am reposting these photos from a fellow breeder after experiencing it firsthand with one of our beloved puppies and their precious family. I am not disclosing photos of this family as their vet is still not 100% sure that this “mystery illness” is what happened. But in my gut, I believe this is what happened.

WHAT WE KNOW: cases of this “respiratory illness” are rapidly popping up all over the country. As a dog owner, breeder, and enthusiast, I truly want to encourage all pet owners over the next three months to use more caution than they ever have before.

I will tell you what we will be doing with our dogs in our home and encourage you to consider doing the same:

* We will not be visiting dog parks or any puppy daycares.
* We will not be placing our puppies or dogs in any kennels over the holiday.
* We will not be going to the groomer in the next 3 months or until I stop hearing of new cases developing.
* We will be staying home with our beloved pets to keep them extra safe.
* We will be removing our shoes as soon as we step inside our home & placing them safely somewhere our dogs cannot reach them.
* We will actively be praying none of our pets or other previous puppies contract this sickness.

I sincerely pray peace and comfort over the family who lost their precious 2 year old — otherwise extremely healthy — therapy dog. My heart is broken for you 😭
