17 of the 25 dogs we currently have in our 16 kennel open intake county shelter. Which ones would you choose to euthanize?

Scroll down to read the message from our Director about the crisis we are in along with almost every other open intake county shelter in the state. In the country.

We’ve been fighting hard all year to get every dog in our care out of the shelter & into safe, loving homes. We’ve avoided euthanizing for space by the skin of our teeth and a LOT of work around the clock, off anybody’s time clock, have shed tears & are near collapse from physical & emotional exhaustion. But we are here now. These are dogs we know. We’ve cared for. We love.

We don’t know what else to do. We want to break down any barrier we can to facilitate adoptions. Our adopt fees are only $50-95 & that is the cost of what we’ve paid to fully vet every dog who leaves our shelter. Dogs who sit for months have $50-100 more in costs due to monthly HW-Flea-Worm prevention. This is paid for via donations-sponsorships & adopt fees.
We can’t have free or almost free adoptions.

We know the adoption cost is not the only barrier to adoption. We cannot fix housing or landlord policies.

We want to try to have a TAKE ME HOME Adoption event next week with extended hours on Saturday November 2. Adopt fees will be $25 and every adopter will be gifted a bag of food from Tractor Supply. Every adopter gets 2:1 dog training sessions from Link Up Dog Training.

BUT! We cannot make this last ditch effort to save lives without DONATIONS. $2000 is what we need. We’ve raised $375 so far.
