Byron and I had our first adventure in the show ring this weekend in Belton! The show site was a little overwhelming for him yesterday, but he rallied and really looked to me for support. I’m very, very proud of my brave, resilient boy and I think he ended up having a great time with me 🙂

We showed in Beginner Puppy and he won Best Opposite yesterday (he was the only boy haha) and won Best of Breed and Herding group 2 today!

Byron and I went to Home Depot to get some lumber this morning (why there’s no pics…managing a young c**t of a cardigan on a leash AND several 8 foot boards was…probably ill-advised)

But, the young man was a perfect gentleman. He got to meet several kids quite a bit younger than he’s used to, saw some scissor lifts in action, walked through the busy parking lot and through the automatic doors, and even got to meet a great bear of a hairy man wearing a kilt!

We also explored the Halloween animatronics. Byron was interested, but unconcerned. I’m very proud of him!

These three handsome gentlemen are in the market for their very own families.

Lorenzo is a sporty little nugget. He LOVES his person/people and will do anything for you. He has a lot under the hood and would love nothing more than to be someone’s partner for something fast and furious.

Short Round is cuddly and bright. He’s looking for someone who wants an adventurous sidekick who is good at puzzles and always has a trick up his sleeve.

Miles is a male model in training. He’s perfecting his magnum look and really wants to be your main man. Serious and studious, he’s Spider-Man in disguise.

The puppies have been feeling the heat, literally! They’re still going outside twice a day (early morning and late afternoon/evening) but it’s so hot this week that they just don’t get to get it all out like they are used to. So I’ve been seeing more rowdy play, bickering, and even some bullying. They’re a lot like preschoolers, honestly. They really need outlets to burn off that energy.

And even though they have a lot of climbing toys, a swing, and nearly 100 square feet of my living room all to themselves, it's just not enough!

By the way, the tan blanket is actually a tortilla blanket so the dark spots that look like p**p on video are actually supposed to be dark spots on a tortilla :P

So tonight I gave them all some big collagen sticks for the first time. You can see…everyone is quiet, everyone is getting along, and everyone is having a heck of a time! I’ll be sending these collagen sticks home with everyone, along with a yak milk cheese stick and some freeze dried liver.

Sorry for the length of this raw video lol but I’m terrible at it. The kids got a Yeti rubber toy tonight. It’s like a Kong but you put a nugget of yak cheese in his belly and nuke it in the microwave. The cheese puffs up and fills the hole, and makes a first class time consuming thoughtful chew! They LOVED it and they’re still working on it as I type lol.

I also let them work a puzzle for the first time. This was loaded with tiny nuggets of string cheese. They made short work of it!

These guys are SUPER bright and keeping me on my toes trying to occupy them. They are naughty and busy and just like my (human) boys in a lot of ways.

Off to shop for more puzzles and come up with some more games for them.

We have been moved! And I have again demonstrated my general inability to estimate sizes in my head so when I said to myself “self, let’s put a 8x12 pen in the living room” it seemed like a great idea and not that much bigger than the pen we had last time.

It is a LOT bigger and I’ve spent the last two hours trying to fit everything in this room that needs to be in here. Toys are coming next. I need to add some new stuff to the play gym and get it set up too. We’ll have a teeter totter, tunnel, a climber (because these kids LOVE to climb!) and a little ball pit, if I can fit it all in here and still have room for puppies.
