Have y’all ever had a sink cat?! 🚰🐱
Peach is a sink cat, which means she loves to lounge in the sink and sneakies are her favorite past time!
Her and her siblings are about ready to begin their vaccines and vetting! 🏥
It’s also the time of year we renew our insurance and pay our non-profit taxes! 💰
We sure would love some help to cover those expenses! 😍

Giving Tuesday is here!
Today is the last day of The Panhandle Gives and the biggest fundraising day for non-profits. We appreciate any support from our followers and couldn’t do this without you!
This adorable kitten below is Boo, who needed a rescue to step in and help. We had a foster step up and after some growing, a successful adoption! Let us know if you have questions about fostering, we would be happy to help with any concerns you may have.

Willow came to ARC after shutting down in the shelter. She became severely depressed, refused to eat and became a potato in a kennel.
This put her at great risk to be euthanized.
We stepped in with an amazing foster family who had recently suffered the loss of their long time companion, and needed something to take their minds off of the pain of that loss.
Together, Willow and her foster family healed, and formed an inseparable bond. No promotion was needed for Willow because there was no way they were giving her up. Lots of love & light at the end of this adoption tail!

Everyone remember Blanche? (cue all Golden Girls fans) 😉
So much to say for her, this girl surprised us all! When we visited her at the shelter to evaluate her, she wasn’t the sweetest thing..she was scared and unsure of all humans. One thing we did notice was that she was drawn to kids. She was growling at our board member but seeking out her young daughter for comfort. We committed to pull her into our program and her foster mom started working to make her comfortable.
Blanche was covered in painful mats and we knew this was going to cause her to be much more hesitant to be herself and accept attention and affection. Her foster mom is very experienced with the dogs who need some extra TLC but we couldn’t believe how quickly she came out of her shell. After a very short time, the zoomies were in full force.
Blanche received a good grooming and necessary vet care, we then started the search for her perfect family. I’d say we found her match and she is living the spoiled life she deserves!

Let’s go down memory lane!
This girl holds an extra special place in all of hearts as she was our very first ARC dog! She was microchipped upon arrival to our city shelter but was never claimed by her owners. After waiting for a month, we busted her outta there and moved her to a foster home!
Her foster mom was so patient with her and provided such a loving environment for Zola to thrive in and become her goofy self. She took awhile to find her forever people but her foster mom continued building her confidence while we waited. Zola was placed as a service dog for a local veteran through another nonprofit in Amarillo and now has a very important job!
We hope you enjoy these few photos and of her learning to “dog” again. ❤️

UPDATE - both were tagged for rescues!
This is Linq and Tinker! Both of these guys are ready to make their break from the shelter.
Linq is a neutered male, fully vaccinated and weighs 58 lbs. He loves to play! Linq would be ready for adoption once he was in a foster and we knew more about his personality (so we could place him best for what he needs).
Tinker is female, a little more to herself than Linq and weighs 45 lbs. These two are ready for new homes! Whether that’s a permanent family or a temporary foster.
Join the team and sign up to be a foster! It’s FREE! We cover medical expenses and supplies, you provide a safe and loving environment.

As the Panhandle Gives campaign continues, we want to share more stories of animals saved through our program.
Ree was a staff favorite at the shelter, her petite size made her very unique and she had a wonderful personality that stood out to everyone.
After getting Ree spayed and ready for adoption, she met a potential adopter but with one thing in the way, they live in Washington and the airline wouldn’t let her fly back. A plan was made to get her home, after a long few days she made it across the country and is living a new and amazing life!
Consider helping dogs like Ree through donations or fostering! 💕

Cheerio was the cutest, tiniest, little puppy who we cannot believe was at risk. Due to her age, and the concerns for sickness, she couldn’t stay at the shelter any longer. We have a puppy foster who had an open spot so we pulled her!
This little girl is full of spunk, love, and sooo playful. All 3 lbs of her. She is growing to be such a loved member of her new family and we are so happy we were able to step in and help her!
For us to be able to save dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia, we must have funds to cover their care. All of our animals are vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and given preventatives for heartworms, fleas and ticks while they are in their foster home. Your donations cover these costs as well as food or other necessary care.
If you’re able to donate, any amount is greatly appreciated! Donate here ➡️ https://www.thepanhandlegives.org/organizations/amarillo-rescue-coalition-72a7b1ce-54e2-4f90-a4b6-cd02ed10f4e6

Static!
This little guy was a single puppy who needed a route out of our city shelter. We committed to take him and he knew so much about a home we couldn’t believe he was never reclaimed. He started using puppy pads immediately and adjusted to the fosters personal pets so well! Surprisingly, we didn’t have a ton of applications for him but when we did we couldn’t have found a better fit.
Statics new home had a chalkboard the kids decorated for him welcoming him home on adoption day, and the boys were so happy to have a new puppy. He adjusted well and is still doing great!
