Our first pedigreed doe might be having babies soon! Hopefully will be of good show quality for the 4H kiddos! (For those that don’t know, rabbits pull their fur to make a nest for their babies. That’s what we’re seeing here. And she had babies about 45 minutes later 😆)

Coco’s babies were saved thanks to insomnia and a bunny cam.

This morning five babies were kindled sometime before 4:30 am OUTSIDE of their comfy nest. Luckily, I woke up super early and decided to check the bunny cam and rushed to rescue them. Unfortunately, it was too late for one, and I thought it was too late for another one. After more than half an hour of hand rubbing and stove powered heat, she finally took some deep breaths-and then started wriggling around. The other three were cold, but still lively.

Now for the hard part-getting mom to feed them. Otherwise, we have to hope for another bunny to kindle and foster Coco’s babies or we have to bottle feed. Wish us luck!

My innovative heating method is pictured-my scarf, a basket, and a gas powered stove- and meet “Pebbles” the miracle bunny.

We have updated our sales policy. If you plan to purchase a bunny from us, please read!

——————————————————————-
Please read, as all buyers MUST abide by our sales policy! By purchasing a rabbit, you have automatically accepted the terms of our sales policy.

1. Our litters typically have a waitlist. Please message our page to be added to our current waitlist. We cannot guarantee a time frame of litter availability-rabbit breeding is unpredictable, as are the number of kits in litters. When our litters are old enough to be sexed and photographed, the next person(s) on our waitlist will be contacted and given two options. Either:
a. Buyer can pay a non-refundable (see d.) deposit of HALF the sale amount to reserve a rabbit to be chosen and picked up when they are 8 weeks old OR
b. Pay the full sale amount and choose a rabbit based on color/gender/picture
c. Deposits MUST BE PAID within 24 hours of contact or we will move on to the next person on the waitlist.
d. Deposits are non-refundable EXCEPT in the case of the death of the reserved kit, or seller discretion.

2. Rabbits are sold at 8 weeks old. Buyers will be contacted in order of the waitlist to schedule a time to pick out and/or pick up their bunny on a first come/first serve basis UNLESS buyer has paid the full amount to reserve a specific rabbit. All buyers have one week to pick up their rabbit before forfeiting their deposit/full payment. Under certain circumstances, a deposit may be transferred to hold a rabbit from a future litter.

3. A basic rabbit care guide will be provided, and we will happily answer any questions you have on caring for your new rabbit.

4. We guarantee all rabbits are healthy to the best of our knowledge when they leave our property. We do not offer refunds/replacements/vet coverage once any rabbit leaves our property. Rabbits are delicate creatures and require proper handling and care, which is out of our hands once they are in yours.

5. If for any reason you find you cannot care for your bunny, you may return your bunny. However, we will not provide a refund.

We finally have babies! For two months we’ve had two false pregnancies, several does that didn’t take, and some stubborn does that refused to breed in the first place. When we finally had our first litter, the mother abandoned them and we lost all but one. Luckily, Bambi had a litter in time to adopt the last survivor, and we now have four very healthy babies!

We’ll be contacting the first people on our waitlist soon, and we’ll keep you posted on our next litters!

Happy fall everyone!

Just a quick update. As you may know from our post history, Amarillo Holland Lops recently changed hands. As the new business owners, we’re trying our best to catch up with the waitlist. However, rabbit breeding can be unpredictable. So far we have had a false pregnancy, a doe that didn’t take, plus a very stubborn doe that doesn’t want children.

We have added new rabbits to our lop family and hopefully some of them are currently pregnant. If you are currently on our waiting list, we will contact you as soon as we have babies for you. If you would like to be added to the waitlist, feel free to message us.

Thank you everyone for your patience as we try frantically to successfully rub bunnies together!
