Clearly this is not our salon, and the group title rings so ironic to us. That said.... the sentiment is clear to the clients, not to come before being contacted. While all chuckles in the grooming community as this one is shared.... I did think at some point "do my clients know why"?

For those wanting clarification, why this policy is one that is so strict let me give you some insight.

You are beloved mom, dad, big human protector, feeder of yummy things, and you represent all the things of comfort to that pet. You are one giant billboard with bright blinky lights.

When you walk into a pet salon (no matter the species being worked on), it's almost always a dead given that your pet will be super distracted, want to get back to you and if we aren't finished.... well, that's a recipe for disaster.

We have to to either risk injuring a now super restless wiggly pet to try and wrap up... or we now have to take the time to resettle that animal down for another solid 15min and get the swing of what we are doing together as a team.

Grooming is cooperative care, you and the pet are a team, the groomer is working with that pet through a practiced routine. When one party is no longer willing to work through that routine because "nom nom gifter" is suddenly here.... well, there goes the groom.

Sweet, playful, smart pup! She's a dog that loves pets and snuggles with humans. Doesn't always want to be right on your lap, but does like laying on the couch beside or near you. Loves running laps around other dogs, we call her the mini rocket as she is very quick! She is the queen of the house and knows it. lol

Yes- fully! She had one accident in the house due to us not knowing her cues and reading her correctly, this was literally within 48 hours of her arrival.

None

Yes- Can be left for several hours without any issues. She does pant when left kenneled while people are present in the room with her. Settles nicely when no humans are there. She isn't whining to get out, but pants in a sort of nervous excitement to get to you. We kennel overnight and any time we can not supervise dogs in our home, so she is used to this routine.

Yes, she does pretty well, we are working on looser leash protocols, but she does well just likes to be on the furthest reach of the leash end, easily corrects or redirects when asked.

Treats, play, pets and excitement, she really works to please and enjoys mental stimulation of being engaged. Anything as a reward she responds well to. High value treats like cheese and freeze dried chicken are her fav!

๐ƒ๐จ๐  ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž: I would say yes, with an easy correction. She mostly bark alerts to other dogs and if in small spaces she will growl or snap towards other dogs in her space. On walks she's alert to other dogs present, but can be redirected. In a home or salon setting she can be somewhat guarded. She does however play well with dogs that she gets used to. When watching pups in our home the first day is tense and requires diligent supervision, but literally within 48 hours she settles in nicely and doesn't target dogs. Can get possessive of a chuck it ball when all dogs are chasing after it. But otherwise, does ok once settled.

No, she has been raised in a multi cat home.

๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ž ๐ ๐ฎ๐š๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ : Does like to get to the ball first then play keep away with other dogs. If they come too close to her she does bark or lunges towards them. We choose not to play chasing ball games with her.

๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐/๐Š๐ข๐ ๐š๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž: No, she adores children. She relishes snuggles with our 11 yr old and plays well with the 7yr old, younger kids 0-6 have also visited and she was very good with all ages. Seems intuitive towards little ones.

No, she loves all the humans! lol

No, she doesn't even mind the vacuum.

A dream for travel, loads and unloads on her own on the "load up" command. Settles nicely, have not done a longer road trip with her but would guess she'd do fine.

While being fostered we have noted that if left unattended and items are left out, she will investigate them and can chew. She is far more likely to sniff out uncovered trashcans, food items then chew items up. She leaves clothing or kids toys alone when given the opportunity to lay by you or a dog appropriate chew toy or chew treat. I would say an age appropriate level of interest in chewing, not an abnormal amount for a dog in general. I would say a normal amount of young dog whos really nearly out of the chew phase completely, and would just need to know the house rules. ;) She loves mild softer chew items like jerky or beef sticks, not a huge bone fan.

๐Ÿ• She could easily be a solo pup or with a couple other dogs, after transitioning time. Easily fine with cats.

๐ŸšธIdeally an adopter who will have an active presence in her life. As it would not be her preference to be in a kennel, and would prefer to be sleeping with you and not in a kennel. lol

๐ŸŠ Fenced in yard would be great but not a requirement, she does have a strong recall and enjoys being close by.

Would love if this girl could stay local to Ames IA, as we would love to have occasional play dates and keep up to date with her.

She will have a small rehoming fee to help cover expenses and to ensure a good home is found. If interested please fill out an application and/or message me for more questions!

Well... You guessed it! I borrowed more dogs!!!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Keeping it super spicy and added two back in, we are watching the Kobe's and little Lulu again. A fantastic test for Lylah and how she behaves around other puppers.

After a few squabbles, lots of intentional redirecting and a whole lot of pup snuggles. Thankfully everybody kenneled nicely for the evening. ๐Ÿฅฐ

This was this morning's 7am play time for me!
