The cold is coming! Prepare your animals before it hits!
We use Dollar Tree clear shower curtains as wind blocks and in temps like these, the whole cage gets a layer of hay and the winter boxes get refilled. A high fat/carb treat wouldn't be a bad idea either. We like black oil sunflower seeds and rolled oats, 1 Tblsp a day.
Like Whiskey Tango Farm's said shelving newer litters would be recommended.
That just means bringing the nest box inside the garage or house and schedule feeding times with the Doe (but keep her outside). If you want more details send a message.

Have you heard of the new movie "Homestead" coming to theaters December 20th?

It is a post-apocalyptic thriller by Angel Studios.
"During a rapid collapse of society a rich man's mountain compound struggles between the military compulsions of its veteran operators and the rural values of its member families." - IMDb

Not only is it full of action, suspense and drama, it also encompasses faith, family and community and the grace of God. It is such a thought provoking film.
What would you do if your friends were starving outside of your home asking for help and you were worried you wouldn't have enough for even your own family?

➡️While I was in Missouri a few months ago at a Ozark Homesteading Expo I was able to attend the very first public screening of this film! It was a special situation and we had to agree to not share or take any photos/videos. The DVD had to literally be destroyed after we watched it because the film technically had not been released yet.

✅️It was one of the most incredible movies I have ever seen!
I personally like to watch movies about survival, action, and apocalyptic scenarios, and this was by far the best one!! Yes it is very suspenseful, but there is an obvious faith element throughout the whole thing that made it very different compared to most apocalyptic films. It also showed just how important community is. 100% recommend!!!

Downsizing the rabbitry continues....will be posting photos of available rabbits this weekend.

Lots of Creme D'Argents, some New Zealand bucks and a few Holland Lops.
❗️I am selling out of New Zealands completely❗️
My goal is to get down to a trio of Creme D'Argents, a pair of Holland Lops, and 6-8 Silver Fox.
After my current four litters grow up and are sold I will be have more senior Silver Fox brood stock available.

This has been a very hard decision and something I've been wrestling with the past year. I have made a lot of progress in my breeding programs over the years and have been able to help a lot of other people either get started in rabbits or add to their herd. While I'm not selling out completely, it feels like I am loosing 90% of my herd. Breeding will be slower, seeing progress will take more time, and going to shows will be less often.
I have come to this decision because I need to focus on my career future and saving money in this stage of my life. I need to take a step back from the rabbits and change direction, so that in a few years I can have my own land, house, and build the rabbitry back up.
The future is bright! Now is the time to lock in.
