Last night on our way home, we were able to stop by The Pretty Paw Lounge and meet the owner, Rachel Anne. Here business, a phenomenal idea, helps others! What an amazing idea she had to start this business that allows cats/kittens from Kitten Angels to live a fun and safe life there while waiting to find their forever homes. Her little cafe is FULL of of local vendors, some animal related, but not all. She accepts vendors who put their items in there, it is stocked full! (But she has more room if intersted).
The building was meant to be a liquor store originally so there are tons of shelves on the back wall where all the items are for sale. Her counter has bakery items from a local baker (we got the most incredible blueberry muffins), and there is so much more to choose from as well.

Finally I can share what had to be the hardest magazine to get out that we have done so far. Yes, it is out later than we had planned, but for good reason. We were given the gift of spending time with my dad, Joseph Sinicropi, an amazing father, while he was at Mountain Valley Hospice. Cancer robbed him of what could have been many more years. In spite of the heartache, we finished it and it still came out wonderful. We will be forever grateful to everyone for their patience and understanding as we took a pause to spend many days with dad. Love and miss him immensely.
Let's look on the bright side for the later delivery. Other publications have been out for weeks now and this one will be FRESH...so it may be a great time to get it out. Last year's magazine only lasted 6 weeks and it will still be summer in 6 weeks! Enjoy it everyone! Read it here online first but definitely grab a copy when you see them. I will put up a list as we get them out.

Heading for our 13th year in business...helping shelter pets find homes and now helping people realize how awesome it is to live in the area full of great people and businesses. In our 3rd year of business we took it up a notch and published our first Crazy About Pets Magazine. Creativity Unleashed was started with immense love for all dogs/cats and the realization that people are just better off when they have one (or two or five...) to love and care for. It has evolved in to a sort of celebration of where we live... We Call This HOME Magazine, always continuing to highlight the cats/dogs and incredible volunteers and staff who care for them while they wait. We truly love doing this, this is our retirement. We work full time because we have to for now, but someday, we can only imagine what we can morph this adventure into.
Grateful for all of your support over the years.
TODAY, we go and get our 14th published magazine...
Cannot wait for you to see it.

On 19.5 hours today - trying hard to get this to the printer tomorrow. At this point there aren't many words to describe the exhaustion, but we did it! And after we proof and fix the little things on all 56 pages it's off to the printer. Phew!! NEXT: rest.

ALMOST THERE! Thank you to everyone who has been patient with us (and you know why). There are so many things to do in the summer if you just put that phone DOWN (after you GPS where you are GOING!).

Those of you who KNOW what is going on, are understanding of why we are where we are with this. But like any other business the show must go on and go on it will. A later print date won't change the quality or awesomeness of this magazine. My dad was very proud of this work we are doing and in his honor, it will get out and it will be amazing. So please, if we are waiting for your articles, your copy, your ok on ads, get it in. If you don't you can always be in our next We Call This HOME magazine. There is a ton more work to do to get this magazine out, but I will perservere. There is not one negative thought about doing it, even with a mountain of work left to do. I've got this! This FREE magazine is a spinoff to our We Call This HOME Magazine - we had so much fun putting it out last summer and we are going to do it again. There is no shortage of things to do, places to eat, drink, hike, enjoy with family and friends in our area. The businesses are fantastic, we live amongst GOOD PEOPLE. This just one way to get the word out about your business, but it is a great way! We hand distribute them to so many places and last year they were GONE so fast. So this year we are printing more of them. If we have contacted you and you have not decided yet, please let us know asap. If we did not get to you yet, or if you are a business we have never had contact with and you are interested, please reach out. Don't miss this opportunity, summer is short but it can be great for all of us, we need sunshine and fun!
(As always, shelter pets will be highlighted throughout and of course watch for our friend Charles Bradley Brown, who is always willing to advocate for shelter pets, because he knows how awesome it can be to be adopted into just the right home ❤)

Can I just say that I sit here looking at the clock thinking "Oh No! the weekend is almost over! - while I "WORK" on the next magazine. It's not that I mind my REAL job, it's a good one, great benefits, great people, but I honestly cannot wait to go home and work on what my heart loves the most!

I got asked once to talk at a women's luncheon. I could not do it because I work during the day. I would have told them how good it feels to do something you truly love, that YOU control, that YOU make happen. I would have told them how fortunate I feel for all of the friends I have made along the way, for all of the adoptions (the one I know about) that came about because of my idea, the one that came straight from my heart on a normal day 12 years ago while sitting on the couch with an illness.

We Call This HOME Magazine and Crazy About Pets (tucked inside it), along with our Get Off Your APP & Go! magazine are all a result of many people's input and help and we appreciate you all. I am at the best part right now, deciding what articles we will feature in this one. I am contacting people involved and working out the details, then I will plan out the pages. There are just so many "Things to Do, Places to Go! and just all around wonderful businesses, and pets (there will always be pets in some aspect). It's so exhilarating - don't think for one minute I consider my weekends lost!

If you have a dream, don't EVER give up on it! It's not all about money...there are other benefits to reap, ones that go right to your soul. Make yourself proud...GO FOR IT!

Just finished up a newsletter, a placemat and taxes. Now on to one of my favorite things, a new magazine just in time for the summer months and more ideas are always flowing. We are so grateful for all that we have accomplished over the past 12 years, for the love we have for what we do, for the friends we have made and for the people/dog & cat matches that come from our placemat. I was lucky enough to meet a dog this weekend, that got adopted right off our mat. It was wonderful to know that her mom and dad saw her there, and from there an adoption came about. It is why we work so hard. Some may think we don't "get what we should" out of this...but actually we get much more than you can get from a "regular job", we just get paid differently❤️
When I hear others feeling down about their life, their jobs, etc. I always say "find your passion" and then find a way to act on that.

👍When you LOVE what you do...it doesn't feel like work.

As always thank you as well to everyone involved in making this happen, we are grateful to all of our advertisers and the restaurants who use them daily. Every pair of eyes on the dogs/cats in need of adoption is a plus! This is also a great way to find out about local businesses. Check it out, next time you are out to eat.

We were so busy with the magazine I forgot to post November's mat, but here is the current one. Mike and I just went out and delivered them this Saturday. It was a long, hard day, but one adoption is worth all the effort. We thank all of our businesses who support the mat, all the folks inquiring about getting on it, and of course all of the restaurants who use them. Thank you all!

We LOVE what we DO!
Yes, it is a ton of work while working full time as well, but it's fun to do and since our 2nd edition of "We Call This HOME" went so fast (they are all distributed, you can still find some, we just don't have any boxes left) we decided to try another idea for the summer months. What if you put down your phone and decided to just GO! There is so much to do, we can't even fit it all on these pages, but we are working on getting you a super cool magazine where you can choose something fun to do this summer while helping local businesses thrive. If you are a business who would like to be included, reach out asap, space is limited and this one has to come together fast! It's almost SUMMER!

Our wheels are always spinning. This time for the next issue of "We Call This HOME" magazine. We are excited to portray more positive things in our communities. We have gotten a few suggestions and we will be reaching out for stories about those. Thank you to those folks who have contacted us. We hope your wheels are spinning too and thinking about what you would like to see us feature in any future issues. This one was a test and we have gotten all positive comments on it. So grateful to the advertisers who believed in us and took the leap and to our photographer, Bill Trojann who continues to help us share and get the word out about this magazine. It can be such a great way for all of us to really connect. None of the cities/towns are far from eachother so visiting one or the other isn't too big of an issue. It is nice to know what is going on around us. As you wind down your July 4th celebrations, may you find a few moments to really reflect on all of the good around us. There are so many organizations, pet related and people related, that are made up of workers and volunteers who live right here and who give of themselves to better their own communities and those around them. If you have a few hours to volunteer or can help in any other way, you will surely get back more than the time or money you will give.
Shout out to anyone planning Fall/Winter related activities - reach out to us so we can make sure to feature as many as we can in our Fall edition.

It's coming! Finally! Please LIKE our We Call This HOME Magazine page so we can get the conversation started!

Hoping to pick this up on Friday! We may have to rent a Home Depot truck, along with Dan's Chevy but we got this! Cannot wait to see it and get it out there. We have called both of our children to help out, so if all goes well, you would be able to pick up a copy and read it at various places by the end of the weekend. Will keep everyone updated on how it is going and where we get them out to as we go. :)

This has been quite a project...we still have much more to wrap up, mostly getting articles wrapped up and pet pages done. We are so excited to get this first issue out and then go from there. We are ready for feedback and suggestions. Before it prints we wanted to mention how grateful we are to every advertiser who has taken an ad out in this new magazine. As everyone knows...prices have gone way, way up as far as printing goes and we could not have pulled this off without the people who believe in us. Also, many thanks go out to Bill Trojann , the photographer for our magazine. His photos are amazing and I will be sitting here all weekend getting as much finished as I can and putting his beautiful photos in their places on the pages.
To those who have contributed stories or allowed us to do a story on them, thank you!
I will make up a page for this magazine as soon as I can.
There are a few spots left if anyone wants to get in on advertising for this first issue.

Even after 10 years and this being the 120th mat we have done, I get nervous about it, but so far so good with any issues. Everyone we deal with is so great, we are so grateful for all of these advertisers who help us help the shelter pets get noticed! Mike is out right now, distributing these new mats, while I work on the magazine. Thank you to every shelter worker out there who is right now working to help better the lives of the pets in their care. Thank you to the restaurants who use our mats daily, we are so appreciative. :)

Everyone who knows me realizes that when I commit to something it WILL get done eventually. Usually that means it takes longer than I may have first imagined. But...I firmly believe and I have seen this to be true that "taking the time" to do anything the right way, with the most passion you can drum up, with all your ducks in a row, will result in success. Mike and I are going insane trying to make this new magazine the best it can be. What will it look like in the end? Not really sure yet, but we know one thing for sure...it will be done with great love and care! - for our community...for area businessess...for the animals who we can give a voice to...a photo and description that calls on someone's heartstrings, another chance for them to find the perfect owner.
I just wanted to update, quickly, as we have to get back to work...we are doing the best we can. If you are expecting a call from us for an article, or an ad that needed to be changed, we will get to you asap! Thank you so much to every business who has said YES - it is because of you that we can now plan out the pages tonight and choose a print date finally!
Can't wait for feedback so we can improve as we move forward with what we hope will be a magazine everyone looks forward to.

Seriously, there is NOT enough time in the day to get all that needs to be done, done or to get in contact with the many advertisers we KNOW will want to be in this magazine. Mike and I are a two person show here and we both work full time, so it can be difficult to get to everyone fast enough so they have the time to consider advertising. As with all things that are NEW, the first issue will be the starting point of what we hope will serve the community in many different ways. Positivity is the key here. We know what makes HOME home, we know it is more than those four walls - HOME is a feeling, it's friends and family, it's places we go that bring back memories, it's giving new businesses a try but remembering to keep supporting old businesses as well, it's our area parks, clubs we join, churches we attend, volunteer work we do. ALL OF THIS and more is what we hope to do on these 64 pages. SInce we may miss a few people, I am putting this out there so if anyone knows anyone who may want to be a part of this, big or small, we have small ads and full pages and in-between, please reach out. This just feels right, a much needed read in some trying times, and with all of the input we have from so many people already, we know it can't fail. Reach out if you have ideas, or know of anyone who would like to advertise, only a few weeks left to get them all in.

We are working hard to get this magazine out!
It's Saturday, it's raining (my favorite weather for "gotta get things done day"), I am at my computer already. Set the alarm for 5:20am, did laundry, fed the crew and made brownies for a party. Steve Jobs is right...if you LOVE what you do, you will be truly satifisfied with your life. Mike and I love what we do. Yes, we have to have full time jobs, but that is life. We never said we would get rich doing what we love. But alas, maybe in some way we have. Working hard to finish this latest project of the heart. Mike is a beast out there selling ads for it. It's great to work with your soulmate. If you have not found what you are looking for...be brave and take a leap, it takes so much time, but every step is worth it. Have a great weekend everyone 🙂

There are not enough hours in the day for our new project!
I am so overwhelmed in a GOOD WAY! We love what we do and this new magazine will take it to a whole new level. I just sent out a mass email to as many advertisers as I could think of. Now I will have to go back and send to the ones I did not include on mistake or the ones that bounced back. Then back to the actual content, the first issue will be the hardest. For someone that spent many years focusing on the negatives in life, it is so uplifting to be doing a magazine about positives in our communities. Mike and I will now start really calling and emailing, , texting and stopping in to talk to businesses and places we would like to feature. I think I have this off to a great START overall! We will welcome any suggestions that come our way. Thanks to all of those who are onboard to help with this already, we appreciate you all and look forward to making even more friends and acquaintences along the way. :)
