Normally we let the glass of the growout enclosures get coated in a nice film of algae. When we clean it we sometimes end up with state downs between neighbors

Froglets on this Friday! We were privileged to be able to provide some frog eggs for a classroom. Students were able to watch these eggs develop into tadpoles and metamorphosize from tadpoles to froglets. Students did an egg-cellent 😁 job taking care of these guys!

Wednesday is for the bugs 🪰 🪰🪰🪰 There's plenty of great fruit fly media out there but mines the best. I might be a smidge bias. Every batch is handmade by me and we spent 18 months dialing it in. Every fly and frog produced by me is raised on this media. If you want to try it and see what all the buzz (🤦) is about DM me.

Tadpole Tuesday 😁😍 Some species of dart frogs can have their tadpoles communally raised. With enough leaves, plants, food and mulm you can avoid cannibalism. There's even been reports of multiple species using the same deposition sites with many different tadpoles together 😮

Frog Feeding Friday 🐸😁 They say Dendrobates tinctorius are bold but Lorenzo definitely buck that trend. These are probably the most secretive frogs in the collection. Despite getting an occasional glimpse they're one of my favorite locales. Maybe because how rare that glimpse tends to be.

Frog Feeding Friday 🐸😁 Someone's in need of a diet 😅 This Dendrobates leucomelas Standard female laid a clutch of eggs shortly after this. With Alaska's incredibly warm and wet weather the frogs have been very active.
