Piper Lou
With a heavy heart we had to make a tough decision with Piper. We recently had to put her down due to her recent unpredictable aggression towards a few of the other dogs in the household. She would attack without any warning or reason, there was targeting of certain dogs in the household even when they were kenneled, and at times she would be obsessed with trying to find ways to get to those other dogs.
She did have a lot of awesome characteristics too, extremely loving to the immediate family and those well known to the family (not so much strangers), willing to please, loved to go on hikes and that was a huge motivation for Tiffany to get out and explore more with friends, she loved going for rides and gassing us out with her nasty farts, obsessed with the cats, enjoyed exploring, she was a great aunt dog to the puppies when other litters arrived, a protector of the house, and enjoyed anything dealing with outside summer and winter.
We tried professional training, mental stimulation exercises, intense physical activity(hikes, long walks, free running, fetch for hours, etc) and separation within the household to where she had access to a few dogs that she didn’t have issues with.
Even though she was born and raised in our household and has been around the other dogs and people her whole life, some genetic traits can still get passed on that may or may not be a know issue (nature vs nurture argument as its finest). We made the best decision for the safety of our family, dogs, and program. I honestly wish things were different and we never had to do this.
Forever in our hearts, Rest In Paradise
