It’s officially official. Rio was adopted to the best family. We’ve gotten so lucky with the people who have adopted our fosters. Thankful to know that the pups we’ve had pass through our home have gone on to the most loving forever families we could’ve ever hoped for them.

Hi! So, Scott and I are trying to find ways to help out still for the next 4 months. We’ll still be with The August Fund, and hope to find a way to continue that even while not physically in Alaska, however, because fostering comes without an end date, we don’t want to play the foster scramble and take on another foster if we can’t see it through; fosters are already so few and far between and it isn’t fair to keep passing dogs off from home to home.

That said, I’m starting a Rover account and will be offering boarding, doggy daycare, and drop in visits. We’d like to offer walks, but it’s difficult to plan because Scott is our resident dog runner (unless you have a small dog who just wants to go around the block and then couch rot with me 🤣).

This is long, so if you’ve made it this far, if you have adopted from The August Fund, are a current foster of The August Fund, OR, if you have adopted from The Dog House at all, we’d like to offer discounted boarding, daycare, or walks for the pups. Added bonus: we’d be able to see some of the pups we fostered and grew to love so much. Part of our proceeds will go back to The August Fund whether that be in food, treats, or gas money.

Hi everyone 🖤I didn’t think we’d have to do this with such a sweet and smart pup, but…we’re starting to feel a bit desperate. We leave in 2 weeks and then after that it’s crunch time for us to move out of Alaska 😭as much as we wish we could stay, the Air Force has other plans. That said, Rio is going to need a new place to live whether that’s a foster or foster to adopt starting on 28 October (when we fly out). He is scheduled for his neuter on 14 November at ASPCA.

He is such a good boy and it’s heartbreaking that he’s had zero interest. Please give him a try. He’s the best boy and deserves his own family

Rio will be at PetSmart Tikahtnu today from 3-6 with The August Fund! In all of the years fostering, I think Rio might be our longest term foster and we can’t figure out why he’s had zero interest. Please come visit him and see if he’d be a fit for your family! He LOVES walks, jogs, all the -joring, hoarding toys, playing, and giving hugs!
