We rescue and rehome cats primarily in Southcentral Alaska from Houston to Homer. CCCR rescues 500 - 700 cats a year.

He's the BIG EASY. Jason is the guy. That one you've been waiting for if you like the big mellow boys who slip into your life and suddenly, there is your best friend and loved one.
He was trapped in a group of homeless cats who had found a dumpster in an industrial site to search for food. When the trap was set, Jason was the first to go in. He's was a mess. Matted and frightened and obviously hungry. But that step into the trap was maybe the best move he's ever made. Cause he is not a feral cat who had some inkling about how to survive. He needed rescue and he made it happen.
Almost instantly we knew he was a family cat. Didn't take him long to show that he loved being in a home. He loved to be pet. He loved having help with food and keeping his luxurious coat groomed.
And now he is such a happy boy. He still has a few moments of surprise when there's a loud noise or unexpected commotion. But he is settling into the groove of the quiet home just fine.
He was fine in the company of the other 5 cats at the trapping site. And he seems very tolerant of the other cat in the foster home who is kind of a cranky older girl. He is getting used to the dogs although the yappy, in your face one he finds annoying and has established his personal space. Having had the chance to be outside in his former life, he will need to be given access to a safe area whether he can go to enjoy the natural world, and then go back into his secure loving home that will never abandon him. He's lived the life of a lost beggar and has no desire to go off and do that again.

When you're this cute, what is there to say?

Hemingway is too busy playing and cuddling to explain and playing and purring around the house to explain. He loves other kitties and he loves to play, and cuddling is the best thing ever!

He's 5 months old and so adorable! He will need a kitty friend in his new home. He has lived with small dogs and been fine with them. He spent part of his kittenhood outside and will need a fun safe place to go outside with his family in the summertime.

Are you ready to have your home filled with more love than ever before. Roman and Luther are ready to fulfil your request. These incredibly sweet, bonded brothers are ready for a new home together. Could that be your home?

They are gentle, curious boys, and they love affection. Getting scratches is pretty cool in their eyes too. They absolutely love cat trees and window seats, dreaming of the nice summer days that are to come. Roman is quite outgoing, wanting to start a new adventure and see what is around the next corner that may have a fun surprise. Luther is shyer, sitting on the sidelines watching his friend to make sure he is safe and sound. With Luther’s shy personality they will need a quieter settled home without a lot of chaos.

They both love cats, and older children should be fine in their new home. Due to a negative experience in their previous home, they must be adopted to a home with no dogs. A fun safe yard is a must so they can enjoy a BBQ picnic with their family and enjoy some sunshine and

Reggie and Jake! We apologize for our earlier post. They will not be at the Petsmart adoption fair this weekend. 😽💖😽

Two little furry tykes about 8 months old. Both with tabby tails!! (So they are available for the Tabby Tail Sale!) They are so cute! And put this adorable pair together and the fun just keeps rolling on.

They are not always revved up, but it's hilarious to watch and be a part of. They do sleep too, sometimes. They are the cutest little things, not brothers but best friends forever. Where Jake sleeps, so does Reggie. They are so bonded that they almost always have a butt or paw touching each other when they sleep.

Jake is the very handsome tabby and white boy. And Reggie is a lynx point Siamese boy with blue eyes. Both of them are friendly if you give them a minute like normal family cats. They are okay with other nice cats and they have lived with dogs just fine, but dogs in their faces would not be ideal. They are in foster with nice older kids and they are doing great!!

He's a shy boy but he is always there to greet you in the morning. He loves head pets and helping with getting everything ready, including breakfast. He is an excellent reminder that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Although all meals are exciting!

He's great with other cats and will need a cat buddy. And if it could be a calm big brother kind of buddy that would be great because he is a shy boy who learns from his friends about people; who is safe and who is not. A playmate cat would be great. But he is good carrying toys around on his own, storing them places to come back for later. Kick toys, stuffy boys, rattles, they are all good. He is very curious so even when he's uncertain about something and acting shy, his curiosity will win out so that he can check it out.

Topsy is handsome short haired tiger boy, about 10 months old, and hoping for a family that will love him enough to give him time to adapt to his new home. He has excellent house manners and does great with any other cats who are nice to him as well as mellow dogs.

He would probably be best in a family without little rambunctious children. A calm household would be beat. Cat buddy and a safe place to go outside in the summer are needed. He's in Anchorage. Please call 907 980-8898

Meet Tux & Beau – Playful, Handsome, and Looking for Their Perfect Home

Tux and Beau didn’t start life in a cozy home, but they’re ready to find one now. These two young cats met in rescue, formed a strong friendship, and are learning to trust people more every day. They would love to be adopted together, but it’s not required—as long as they each have a welcoming cat friend in their new home.

Tux is a striking black-and-white tuxedo with perfect go-go boots and a coffee-table-book-worthy milk mustache. He’s still learning that humans can be friends, but he’s cautiously curious, enjoys watching the world from a cat tree, and keeps himself impeccably groomed. He’s not cuddly yet, but with time and patience, he’ll bond with his forever family.

Beau is a fluffy all-black boy with big golden eyes and a playful spirit. He was born in the wild and still has a little of that adventurous streak, but he loves people. He follows his foster mom everywhere and is always underfoot. While he’s not a fan of being picked up (yet), he adores playing, wrestling, and chasing toys. He’s also a bit of a tease—he’ll roll over and show his fuzzy belly but isn’t quite ready for belly rubs.

These two spend all their time together, racing around and having fun like the young, playful cats they are. While they aren’t bonded, they make a fantastic pair. Whether adopted together or separately, they’ll need another friendly cat in their home to help them continue building confidence.

Typhoon! This beautiful fluffy boy is the best snuggly sidekick. He has just recently figured out that he can request pets on demand and absolutely loves being held, cuddled, and picked up. He gets talkative when he wants to notify you that he’d like some attention! \

Typhoon is a very easy going cat - he would love to hang with you on the couch and make air biscuits in your lap but is content to hang out in his cat tree independently too. He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he does you have his trust! Typhoon is a cautious explorer but is becoming a more confident cat week by week. He likes to perch in his cat tree where he watch the action of the house from a distance even if he isn’t in the midst of it. He is okay with the calmer dog that gives him space in his foster home but has been warier and more likely to run away with the bigger/eager dog. He is getting braver about being near dogs as long as there is a human available to sit next to.

He is utterly unimpressed with laser pointers but loves to wrestle with catnip toys or chase a feather wand. When we got him, he was living around lots of other cats and was fine in foster with other kitties, so likely he will do fine with other nice cats who will welcome him. We are not sure how he does around children. He will need a safe place to go outside and explore his own yard when he’s bonded with his family and spring comes. We usually start off these posts with an introduction of the adoptable cat. However, Sushi has been waiting for adoption so long and has been posted so many times that I don’t think she needs an introduction anymore. We are just hoping that there is someone out there that is willing to give this girl a chance. We understand that most people want the outgoing and super loving type cat, but please consider giving the shy kitty a chance. With a little bit of love and patience she will be your best cat ever! 🥺

Sushi had a rough and very scary start to her life. She does need a little time to warm up in a new home (like most cats). Once she is comfortable with you she is a very sweet little girl and will come to you for pets on her terms. Petting her is incredibly rewarding, she is incredibly soft like a cloud.

She would be a perfect friend to your current cat/s. Sushi’s foster home has two boy cats, and they adore her. She is so sweet and purry that they are happy to share her affections with their people and each other. She doesn’t cause problems—she brings peace, comfort, and quiet companionship. She must have a cat friend in her forever home.

Sushi will need to stay inside this winter while she gets to know and love her new family. When spring comes, she might enjoy safe outdoor time in a yard—but she may decide the comforts of home are enough.

Sushi is in Anchorage, still waiting. She has been waiting longer than any of our other cats. She just needs that kind person with a friendly cat to make her part of their family forever.

Copernicus has been through it all—living outside for years, escaping a foster home, and somehow surviving with his slow, cautious instincts. But despite his rough past, this smart, resilient cat is ready to settle down in a quiet, low-key home where he can feel safe and loved.

Dudley isn’t one for chaos—he prefers a calm environment with patient humans who respect his space. He may take time to warm up, but once he chooses you, he’ll be right there, involved in whatever you’re doing. He’s low-maintenance, independent, and doesn’t have much kitten energy, making him the perfect companion for someone looking for a relaxed, easygoing cat. His battle scars (including old ear hematomas) tell the story of a tough life, but they don’t stop him from enjoying his favorite thing in the world: having his ears scratched. It’s his love language.

Copernicus could live with other cats, but he’s easily bullied, so he’d thrive best as the only feline in the house or with another easy going cat. He’s likely fine with calm dogs as long as they respect his space. We think he's a mid-age adult boy, maybe 6 or 8 years old.

Pippa is about 10 years old and she is frisky and looking forward to the next decade. She is perky, bright, a little bit chatty when there's something special to say. Very intelligent and curious and such a loving girl.

Pippa has lived with another cat and they were fine together. But they were not attached to each other. In her foster home without other cats, she is fine and happy and a bundle of joy.

Pippa likes people and is a great companion. She loves to go out in the yard and check out her territory which she had done in her former home for the past 10 years.

🏕️Camper, a sleek, velvety black cat with striking yellow eyes—a true gem who, like many black cats, is often the last to be adopted despite his undeniable charm. He delights in watching YouTube videos of bird feeders, playing with toy mice, dashing around the house, and even basking on the warmth of his foster family’s laptop.

Although Camper may be a bit shy at first, give him time and he’ll blossom into an affectionate companion. Soon, he’ll be curling up on your lap, purring enthusiastically and begging for gentle rubs with his irresistibly soft coat. His vocal personality shines through in a delightful mix of meows, chirps, and loud purrs that will keep you entertained.

At about a year old, Camper has already developed excellent habits—using his scratching posts and litter box without fuss. He can be a tad timid until he gets comfortable, isn’t too keen on wand toys, and prefers a calm environment. He thrives in a quiet, peaceful home without small children or excessive activity, and while he isn’t a fan of dogs, he would absolutely love another feline friend to bond with.

💛 Hannah is thrilled to be part of the Tabby Tail adoption event, excited at the chance to find her forever home!

This playful, affectionate girl originally came from a hoarding situation and ended up at animal control before making her way to our rescue. Despite her rough start, she has blossomed into a confident, loving cat. Though small, she’s strong and feisty—holding her own during spirited roughhousing with her larger feline buddy. She would thrive in a home with another cat to play with.

But don’t be fooled by her playful energy; Hannah also has a sweet, cuddly side. She’ll snuggle up and start purring the moment you touch her. Just be prepared for a little mischief—she’s curious and clever, so it’s best to keep important things out of reach!

Hannah is about 2 years old (though some think she might be closer to 1). She needs a home with a cat friend and safe outdoor access. Because she plays rough, she may not be the best fit for very young children.

Lucky that both Roman and Luther have tabby tails. They are bonded brothers and they are great together. Never a worry about kitty fussing. These guys are great buddies and best friends. At just a few years old, Raven is full of energy and loves to keep busy, providing endless entertainment with his silly antics. Raven came from a tough situation, living outdoors in a hoarding home. While he’s not the biggest fan of being touched (unless it’s on his own terms), he’ll happily hang out nearby to keep you company. His true love, though, is other cats! Introducing Triste and Chandler 🌄 In the quiet hours of the late evening movement can be seen emerging from the light of the day. Moving as one the blend of tan, brown, and black flows together as they move silently across the floor. With the flow of their long hair, it’s hard to tell where one starts and the other one ends. This is how they greet the evening. Triste is the beautiful tortoise shell girl and Chandler is the handsome black boy. They are brother and sister around 10 months old and love to play with their toys and other playful cats too. Triste in particular loves to carry around the soft round toy balls and Chandler has a grand time doing kitten antics on the cat tree. Both have shy tendencies, but they are absolute sweethearts and love to be petted and loved on. Chandler loves to have his belly rubbed and Triste loves her cheeks gently scratched. And nighttime is when their playful nature comes to light as they chase, tumble, and play hide and go seek with each other. These two soft fluffballs would do best in a relatively settled quiet home with no young kids and a family that is willing to give them time to adjust to a new home. They don’t mind a nice well-mannered dog either. Being very bonded they will need to be adopted together. Finnegan He's a sweetheart who has waited SO long for someone to want him. We're not sure if he's ever had that but we know that he wants to be wanted. He's trying really hard to do whatever it takes to get a great family to take him home. He's kind. He's gentle. He causes no trouble in any way. He has excellent house manners and always uses his itter box. He is nice to the other kitties in the house and he purrs when he's pet. Okay, so he's a little jumpy when there are confusing things going on. But if only someone would give him a chance! He will be the best boy! He promises. Rosie is an 8 month old kitten with soft long furr and fluffy tail. She is very sweet and a bit shy. She LOVES to be pet and she purrs loudly. She loves her chin scratched and eating treats. We think she prefers a quieter home. She would do well in a home with other cats but we don't know about doggies. CCCR Rescues Cats and Kittens

CCCR rescues and rehomes about 500 cats and kittens a year in Southcentral Alaska from Houston to Homer. We focus on helping those most in need--the lost, starving, injured and feral.
