Can you see the difference in weight placement with too long of nails vs trimmed nails? This is why trimming your dog’s nails is so important. (At least every 2-3 weeks) I hear a lot, that people don’t trim their dog’s claws because they are afraid of cutting the quicks. And while cutting the quicks is obviously not what we want, not trimming your dog’s nails will cause more harm in the long run. Dogs with too long of nails are in pain when they walk. They usually end up putting their weight on the back end of their feet to try and relieve some of the pressure on their nails. Can you imaging walking on your toenails? Please, for your dog’s health, cut or dremel their nails regularly ❤️. As soon as I trimmed her nails, she started holding her feet underneath her more and was acting much more relaxed. Where before even when walking she kept her legs more in front. 

Yes these pics are absolutely of the same dog. One is of the right front foot the other the left front cause I forgot what foot I was trying to take an after pic of lol. Also the nails trimmed one is after the bath and blow dry so the hair is more fluffed up in that pic. Her left leg was also trimmed down for an IV several months ago so the feathering is less on that leg. (This last section is for all the people that are quickly judging this, and saying they’re not the same dog when they definitely are 🤣)

💚Next Saturday October 5th from 11am - 3pm, we are going to be offering free vaccinations for both cats and dogs in the Davis Park parking lot. This is all thanks to the wonderful folks at Friends of Pets - Anchorage who are sponsoring all of the vaccines.

💙During this vaccine clinic the Normandy Project will be offering free pet food, Spay/Neuter coupons will be handed out and lunch will be provided to those who need it.

💚This is a great opportunity for everyone in our community to help ensure the health and safety of all of our beloved pets. We look forward to seeing a great turn out and meeting some adorable four legged friends.

I’ve been a groomer for almost 14 years and I am always learning and continuing my education. Every groomer has their niche or what they like to specialize in. For me I’ve never been one to be apart of the show world or groom show dogs. I’ve always had the heart to work on average pets and learn their quirks and behavior issues. I’ve always mainly operated this way anyway, so I decided to delve in and learn dog behavior on a deeper level and become certified. I love what I do and your dogs health and mental state are always a priority with me, and will always be continuing my education to be at my best.
