Hello Cupcakes & Canines family! I know it’s been quite a long time and I have missed talking to all of you! I hope everyone is having a good year so far, looking forward to the start of a new year, and having a very happy holidays! As 2024 approaches, I’ve got some new updates to share with everyone. I want to start off by thanking everyone so much for all the love and support with my services over these past 4 years ❤️ these words can’t even begin to fully express how much it all means to me! The amount of pups I have gotten to meet, owners, and other fur babies is unreal! Each and every one has touched my heart in their own way. Going into 2024, I will be cutting back on my dog sitting services to be on track to end dog sitting services by 2025. This was a very difficult decision for me to come to because I love being able to help everyone and spend time with all the fur babies! I’ve been dog sitting since I was in high school, and as I start to settle down in my own home, it becomes harder and harder to be away from my home and family. I am so beyond thankful and grateful for the opportunities I have been given! I will still be offering all my other doggie services! (Check ins, nail trims, and etc!) I appreciate everyone’s love and understanding for this decision 🫶🏼 I’m going to miss the nights spent with all the amazing fur babies out there, but excited to start creating memories with my fur baby at home 🥰 Any dog sitting dates already scheduled are still good and booked!

I have a new update for the cupcake side as well. As of now, and until further notice, I will be taking a pause on cupcake orders. I unfortunately just don’t have a kitchen big enough to take on the orders. I used to bake at my grandma’s house and use her big kitchen/spare fridge for my orders. Since she has passed almost a year ago, her house has been sold, and my current apartment kitchen is just too small. I do plan to eventually get back into the orders! I will just have to wait till I’m able to get a bigger kitchen 😊 the second I’m able too, I will make a post letting everyone know! I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and hate to have to do this. Again, your love for my cupcakes has been tremendous and I can’t thank everyone enough ❤️ I can’t wait to resume orders for you guys hopefully in the near future!

A big welcome to Cupcakes & Canines official mascot…*drum roll please*…Miles! ❤️ he is an 8 week old pembroke Welsh corgi, and the newest member in our household 🥰 this little man is the absolute sweetest, goofiest, fluffiest baby potato! His personality is already so big at such a young age and I’m absolutely in love with it. He’s definitely had his rebellious puppy moments, but those eyes and his adorable corgi butt makes up for it 😆 I can’t wait for what memories/experiences are made with him ☺️

Hello Cupcakes & Canines family ❤️ this cute kitty is Bootsie! Bootsie was an outdoor cat that my grandma had brought in to keep her safe and loved. Unfortunately my grandma has passed away back in January, so we are trying to find a new home/family for Boostie to join. She is an absolute sweetheart and absolutely loves to lay on your lap. She will always take all the love and attention she can get! We aren’t sure of her age, the vet seem to think she was younger. My grandma had her for 3 years, so we are estimating around 5 years old now. She does still enjoy going outside here and there but never strays too far. When my grandma took her in she was already spayed so she is all good on that end! Free to a good home, no vaccine record that we know of, would come with food, 3 months of flea/tick prevention, bowls and litter box could come with her as well unless you wanted yo purchase new ones! If you could please share this post with anyone/everyone that would be amazing and help out a bunch!! We are currently in the process of selling my grandmas house so she unfortunately can’t stay there anymore. This pup right here is my little girl Dixi, she is a 13 year old “dorkie” (dachshund/Yorkie mix) I’ve had her since I was 10 years old and it’s safe to say her and I literally grew up together into the adults we are now. This is picture was taken 24 hours before she had to go in for emergency surgery. I want to take the time to spread awareness on what happened because it was 100% preventable, and also shows another reason why spaying (and neutering) your pets is so important. Dixi had never been spayed, we just never had it done. This was way before I even became an RVT and knew of all the potential risks for older pets that are left unaltered. I knew of the risks once I graduated but she was already an older pup and I didn’t want to risk putting her under anesthesia so I opted to keep a close eye and watch her over the years. She ended up having Pyometra which is an infection in the uterus. It’s common to see in older female pups that are left intact. There are two types of pyometra, open and closed. Open is the “best” to have if it happens. That means your seeing signs of cloudy discharge come out, and that it is able to exit the body some. In her case we saw that and her tail was all matted and sticky from it as well. Closed is where it’s not able to exit the body so it’s just building up and could rupture the uterus. Sometimes you don’t even know the pup has it till it’s too late, especially if they have closed pyometra. Pyometra is a fatal disease for pups, it requires immediate attention/surgery to remove it. They had to go in and perform a spay on her to remove the whole infected uterus. Not only is it way more expensive to have an emergency spay than if you were to just spay them as a pup, but now we look at risks of surgery due to her age. 13 years old is a risky age to have a dog her size or in general go under anesthesia. Their body just can’t handle it as well and so you risk them not making it through surgery. That was absolutely terrifying. You risk losing her from the fatal infection, or risk potentially losing her during the surgery. We took our chances on the surgery to give anything to keep her. Thankfully she was in good health blood work wise for the surgery so she made it through. It was so scary waiting for the vet to call, you don’t know what kind of news you’re going to get. All of this could have been avoided if she would have been spayed as a puppy. So I make this post to take the opportunity of sharing other importances of spaying/neutering your pups. Not only to help the canine population but for their overall health in general. I’m so beyond thankful that we got to keep our dixi girl ❤️ she now acts like a brand new puppy at the age of 13! She eats all her food again, has her happy ear set back, playing with our other dog, and just seems so happy again. Some signs to look out for with pyometra is loss of appetite, lethargy, vomiting, appearing uncomfortable and overall acting unwell. Dixi presented most of these signs but we just thought it was because she was getting older. If it wasn’t for the pyometra being open then I don’t think we would have caught it. We got very lucky that it was open, we were able to catch it before it was too late.

Happy May everyone! I sincerely apologize for being late/absent from posting, life has been hectic and I’ve been in the process of moving over the past month. Moving is finally done so I’m working on getting back into the groove of everything and back to normal 😊 I appreciate all the support and understanding during those hectic times ❤️ as always for the beginning of every month here is the updated pet sitting availability! I am officially booked out for the rest of 2023!! I am beyond blessed and thankful, and beyond excited to spend time and care for all the fur babies 🥰 even though there are no more open availability as of now, that doesn’t mean there won’t be in the future! It’s officially April, which means it’s officially spring 🌸 today is even a great example of the warm weather hopefully starting to come our way! I’m ready to hurry on through the rain showers and get to sunny weather ☀️ summer/fall break is kicking into full gear, we’ve got a fully booked dog sitting till October!! It makes me so excited about all the fur babies I get to spend time with ❤️ a million thank you’s to everyone for letting me help and continued love/support, it means the world to me 😊

These cupcakes are over the moon adorable 😍 they were for a good friend of mines baby shower to welcome a beautiful baby boy into their family 🥰 the theme was “over the moon” and so I tried to capture just that! The colors were navy/midnight blue and gold accents. I took the classic vanilla and chocolate cake flavors, swirled 3 tone of midnight blue vanilla frosting, and topped them with edible gold shimmer ✨ they were absolutely stunning when the light would hit them just right! I wanted to keep the shimmer light so it would catch your eye when you look at it just right but still capture the midnight colors! I always love when I see the ideas you guys give me come to life, especially for such special occasions like welcoming/celebrating the news of a new family member 💙 whether it’s birthdays, graduations, baby showers, or etc, I love it all ☺️😋

March has arrived and that means we are one month closer to spring and summer ☀️ the weather has already been giving us some sneak peaks of the warmer weather to come and I’ve been loving it!! Hopefully it continues to keep getting warmer and doesn’t pull a 180 on us like it likes to do sometimes 😆 down below is the updated dog sitting availability, I’ve still got a few openings for August and September! I am so excited to get to spend time with all the fur babies, especially in the warmer weather where we can spend time outside getting fresh air and not being cooped up all day. This regal boy is Rocky! To kick off getting back into the dog sitting groove after taking January off, I got to dog sit him first thing this February ❤️ he’s been a pup I’ve watched before I even started Cupcakes & Canines! He was a year old when I started and now he is gonna be 5 this year 🤯 I can’t believe how fast time has gone and how far we are now! He is one of the reasons/pups that made me decide to start pursuing this as a job 😊 him and I had a great week together while mom and dad were soaking up the Florida weather ☀️ we played with all the toys he has, cuddled, watched tv/movies, and I received/gave lots of love! He was just wonderful company and such a good boy! It was a great time as always and I can’t wait to watch him again later this year 🐾 I want to give big thanks to his owners for letting me help/continue to watch him all these years 🫶🏼

The first month of 2023 is all wrapped up and we are on to the next! January was a good month, but I’m ready to see what February holds 😊 I took last month somewhat off to rest and recharge from 2022 and to prepare for all the exciting things 2023 is gonna hold! As always, words can’t begin to express how much all the love and support means to me ❤️ to be able to do what I do, and absolutely love doing it, is just truly a blessing and a honor! I wouldn’t be able to do so without you guys and the fur babies 🐾 thank you all so much 🫶🏼 I know availability is limited at the moment but please never hesitate to still reach out about any questions or concerns you may have on dates you’re needing! Happy New Year!! 🥳 and just like that we’ve made it to 2023 🤯 if 2023 is anything like 2022, then I am very excited! Happy national cupcake day!! 🥳🧁 today is one of my favorite national holidays to celebrate ☺️ to celebrate, I wanted to showcase these absolutely gorgeous and chic cupcakes 😍 these were one of the fanciest cupcakes I’ve ever made! started with chocolate and vanilla cake, vanilla buttercream dyed a deep black color, and topped with real edible gold leaf! The real flakes of gold just popped when complimented with the dark black frosting! Very simple but very stunning! It was my first time using gold leaf as well and I can safely say I’m obsessed and will definitely be using it again for future cupcakes!

Kicking the Christmas season cupcakes off with The Grinch cupcakes!! I think these turned out absolutely adorable, and perfect for the birthday party 🥳 we kept the flavors classic with half chocolate cake and half vanilla cake, and then decorated with vanilla buttercream 😋 I tried my best to capture his “grumpy” look 😆 wouldn’t be the grinch without it!! I’m just so excited to be making all the treats this year for Christmas! This is just the beginning ☺️🎄

It’s officially Christmas season!! 🎄 I’m so excited because this is my favorite holiday and time of year!! Not only is it Christmas season, it’s also the last month of 2022 🤯 I can not even begin to believe how fast this year flew by, it’s unreal! I’m excited to be entering 2023 and seeing what the year has to hold, but I’m hoping it slows down a bit! down below is the last dog sitting availability post of 2022! On November 20th, these pups turned ONE year old 🥳❤️ I can’t believe it?! I started caring for these pups when they were just little fluffs at 8 weeks old 🥺 time has gone by way too fast and it’s not ok with me 😅 to celebrate the pups big day, they had a birthday party and celebrated with some yummy pup/cupcakes! The pups got classic peanut butter flavored pupcakes, and mom and dad got confetti and turtle cupcakes 🤤 the pups loved the pupcakes, the pupcake would be gone in seconds! All the pupcakes are wholesome ingredients, no added sugar, and no added sodium! they are also mini sized so they are perfect for smaller pups and bigger pups 😉 as for the cupcakes, the confetti is a vanilla cake with rainbow sprinkles, blue and pink vanilla buttercream swirled together, and topped with even more rainbow sprinkles! The turtle cupcake is classic chocolate cake, filled with homemade caramel, caramel buttercream, drizzle with chocolate ganache, and topped with crushed pecans…the classic candy turned into a cupcake! It was an absolute honor to make the treats to celebrate these pups 🥰 they have become a big part in my life, and I absolutely love it and them! They have grown to be some pretty big sweethearts and I’ve loved watching it all happen since the beginning! Happy 1st birthday keeva and murphy! ❤️ I love you pups!!

The name might be “Cupcakes & Canines” but that doesn’t mean we can leave our feline friends out! This pretty girl is Emmy! 💗 she is such a sweetheart and still a kitten! She’s always pouncing around and having all the toys everywhere to keep up with her playfulness!! I go over and say hi to her and her momma every two weeks for a nail trim! Since she is still young, her nails grow quickly, so to stay on top of it we keep her on a routine schedule of every two weeks 😊 kitties can tend to be a hit or miss with nail trims but we keep it fear free/calm and she does absolutely amazing 😍 we get all 4 paws done in a minute tops! It’s good to stay up on a good routine to keep the quicks back so we can trim them at short as possible to avoid any potential curling of the nails. Nail trims also aren’t the only service I provide for feline friends! I can also do check ins or cat sitting just like I do for the pups! It’s beginning to look a lot like…the holiday seasons!! We’ve officially entered the thanksgiving and Christmas time of the year! ❤️ there is only two more months left of 2022 and I’m hoping they slow down! This is my favorite time of the year for the holiday feelings ☺️ to make it even more crazy with how fast time is flying, the updated dog sitting availability is already into may of 2023?! It felt like we were just in/just left May of 2022 🤯 it’s crazy! I will be a little tight for the months of May, June, and first two weeks of July with dog sitting availability due to a wedding that I’m in! I apologize in advance for any inconveniences due to the tight availability! As always, if your dates aren’t shown here as available, then never hesitate to reach out anyways! Last week we celebrated and said thank you to all the Vet Techs of the world, and this week we are celebrating and saying thank you to all the Respiratory Therapists of the world! This week is Respiratory Therapists appreciation week! 🥳 I got the honor of making some fun cupcakes to show the appreciation to the department! I also got the opportunity to continue trying my hand in pull apart cupcakes 😋 I don’t do them often but whenever I do it’s always such a fun time! Watching the vision and skills come together to form a new style/layout of a traditional treat! The pull apart lung cupcakes were a mixture of vanilla cake, chocolate cake, strawberry cake, and confetti cake. All topped with fluffy vanilla buttercream frosting 🤤 to accompany the the lung “cake”, we paired on the side some traditional cupcakes! Still all the same flavors, the strawberry cake ones had the normal strawberry buttercream, but added some fun decor to showcase RT’s and appreciation ☺️ I was nervous on how it would all turn out with it being still such a new style/skill to me and being a bigger surface to decorate, but I am SO happy with how it turned out 😍 I’m even more happy that the customer loved it so much and that I got to be a part of honoring everything RT’s do to help us ❤️ from the Cupcakes & Canines family to the all the RT’s of the world, thank you SO much for all you do in helping protect and better our health!! 🫶🏼

I am so excited for Halloween season!! even though summer may be over, and 2022 is coming to a close, these last three months are my favorite for the holiday season!! Hello and happy fall everyone!! Reaching out to let everyone know that effective tomorrow (October 1st 2022) the 1 hour check in rates will be returning to $20 for anderson residents! 🥳 words can’t begin to express how much I appreciate you all for your understanding and support when I had to temporarily increase it to $25 due to the spike in gas prices. I’ve been monitoring the gas prices since the initial spike to make sure they are going down and staying down for the most part. Since it’s been good maintaining the lower prices over these past couple months, I am able to lower the rate back to the normal amount for Anderson residents 😊 the $25 rate will still apply to out residents outside anderson city limits (noblesville, lapel, Muncie, Middletown, and etc) I am so very happy I am finally able to bring it back down!! I hated having to raise it to begin with because I like what the original price was! Thank you all so much again for the understanding of having to do so ❤️ as always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding anything, then never hesitate to reach out at anytime! ☺️ and cheers to finally being fall/spooky season!!! 🍂🎃

Got to practice some piping skills with this order! My niece wanted to have an encanto inspired birthday party, so we went on Pinterest to find some inspiration pics and decided to do some decorated floral inspired frosting 😍 wanted to match the colors and floral aspects that the movie showcases! These were a first for me so it was a lot of fun getting to see it all come together and how well I could do! She was obsessed!! ❤️ I was obsessed, look at those colors!!! I always love watching baking videos of bakeries out on the west coast that make fancy piped cupcakes like these on the daily! We stuck with the classic vanilla and chocolate combo to make sure everyone had a flavor they would like 😋

Meet Murphy (black and brown) and Keeva (black and white)! I call these two my aussie pup babies 🥰 I’ve been helping with them since they were only 8 weeks old?! Now they are almost a year old 🥺 I mostly help with check ins, where I stop by Monday-Friday and let them out to potty, eat, and of course play with all their puppy energy! I’m also helping out with dog sitting while mom and dad are on relaxing and fun vacations! I’ve loved having the honor to watch them grow up into the pups they are today! They both are so much alike yet have their own unique personality! It’s always play time and nothing but love when it comes to these two ❤️☺️ Check ins and dog sitting are just a couple of the doggie services I provide! I also can help with any vet visits! I took murphy to his vet appointment the other day because mom and dad both had to work. I went over, picked him up, took him to his scheduled appointment, and brought him back home afterwards! Life is crazy so sometimes things pop up where it overlaps with other previously scheduled obligations, that’s where I can come in to help like for this case of murphy needing to get to his vet appointment 😊 if you have any questions or concerns about any services I provide or unsure if there is something I can help with, then never hesitate to reach out and ask! I love being able to help and I’m always here to help in anyway I can! I’m so thankful to have these two pups in my life, I love them both so much and always enjoy my time with them since day 1 ❤️❤️❤️

Showcasing some birthday cupcakes!!! I made these back in June for a birthday boy and birthday girl 🥳 I’ve made the Minnie Mouse cupcakes before, but this was a first for the sonic the hedgehog theme! I’m OBSESSED with how they turned out 😍 i was very nervous since I’ve never made him before, I get scared that they won’t look like the character because it can be difficult when working with fondant and small details, but I think he turned out awesome! Looks just like the sonic I know and loved growing up! Ended up going with vanilla cake and pink vanilla buttercream for Minnie, and chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream for sonic! They were so much fun to make and it just made my whole day when I saw the birthday boys face light up when he saw his specialty made sonic cupcakes ☺️ I love getting to make these special treats for you guys and any occasion you have going on! We are back with another nail trim, and with my doggie nephew Finnegan! ❤️ this boy is amazing at getting his nails trimmed! We started the nail trim process when he was only 8 weeks old to start getting him used to it being a non-scary and normal thing! It’s always best to start them off young to get them acquainted to it, so when they are older they know it’s a piece of cake! Another good tip is to just rub their paws so they can get used to their paws being touched. Most dogs don’t like their paws touched, so rubbing them and letting them associate it as pain free and scare free will do wonders for them and you when it comes to the nail trims! Even when you’re starting out just trimming one nail, then rewarding, and letting them get used to it one nail at a time instead of doing the whole paw at once can work wonders! There are so many helpful tips and tricks to utilize to help get the pups acquainted with their paws and nail trims 😊 i do my nail trims as fear free as I can! If we have to do a paw and take a break then that’s what we are doing! If we have to bring in the peanut butter as backup and a distraction then I’m bringing in the peanut butter 😆❤️ whatever it takes to keep the pup calm and fear free I will do! if your pup is needing a nail trim, shoot me a message and I’d love to help!

I know this flavor can be controversial…but I absolutely love it!! And it’s perfect for summer time in my opinion because it reminds me of going to get ice cream as a kid 😊 this classic flavor is Mint Chocolate 😋 we have the traditional moist chocolate cake, subtle mint buttercream, and topped with milk chocolate chips! I know mint can be wayyyy to over powering so I dialed it back to be just enough where you can taste it and it compliments the chocolate, but not enough to taste like toothpaste! These are a regular flavor so they are $20/dozen! And don’t worry they are all the menu all year so you can enjoy even in the winter time 😉

Happy 4th of July!! 🇺🇸 I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend celebrating and spending time with friends and family ❤️ this is one of my favorite times of the year because I love making holiday themed cupcakes! These were vanilla and/or chocolate cake, fluffy vanilla buttercream, and topped with either shimmer fondant stars or sugar crystals! They were so much fun to make, and even better to see the happy face who received them for their 4th of July cookout! I love being able to help out and make yummy desserts for your guys special events and holiday gatherings 😊 thank you all so much for letting me be able to help!!
