This is so accurate. As a rehab/training available rescue we see this way too much. It slows down progress and ultimately full recovery and adoption. The reality is adopters need/want dogs they do not have to medicate. So the true triggers need unpacked ,disclosed, and all done on a clean minded dog. 🥳🫶🏼

70% of the dogs I’ve seen in the last 2 weeks have been on Prozac! 70%!!!!!
0% of them actually needed it!
It may be fluoxetine or trazadone but it’s the same thing! An antidepressant used in humans now dished out by “veterinary behaviourists” to dogs instead of actually attacking the issue!
Avoid, distract, throw treats and drug your dog - simple! 🙄
But - not one of the dogs had been assessed correctly!! Some hadn’t been allowed to see other dogs/people and some had been assessed with the good ole cuddly toy 🤦‍♀️
And then put on anti depressants - what is the world coming to!?
Every single one who has come to me and been assessed has been told to now begin the slow and painful task of weaning their dogs off the meds! It takes time but we can start to work with the actual cause of the issue - whether it be nerves, fear, frustration or excitement- actually diagnosing the issue and then treating the problem!!

Very expensive highly “qualified” veterinary behaviourists at universities dishing out drugs without assessing the problem but the force free extremists have you think that it’s balanced trainers who are causing the welfare crisis we are experiencing and that trainers who deal with issues are abusive 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️😞 it’s getting beyond a joke now!

So far very little help with this unamed momma. How sad. Why doesn’t she deserve to be cared for? Rescue is not free. Her next visit is coming up fast. Donations are critical for her and her unborn babies.

Momma maple has delivered 6 puppies. One is very tiny and needs extra support. Please help these tiny lives. It is very costly to have a young mom and pups. New pics have been added.

‼️💔This little lady is not even a year old. She has been pulled from a hoarding case we are assisting with. Dude was from there as well. This baby does not have a name but she is VERY pregnant and too far along for spay. Vet was consulted and she will need supportive care due to her young age and small size. She is only about 15 pounds. Obviously she will need all vetting as well as support during and post pregnancy. The incredible foster that has her is in close proximity to a great vet that we use regularly. She is caring for and earning the trust of this precious little momma. We do not have medical funds for this and really need immediate support to ensure the best care now and ongoing. These things can be very expensive and all funds will go towards this momma and pups.
Fun extra!! This girl needs a sweet name. So we will collect name suggestions from the ones that donate. In one week we will put all names in a box and pick her new name! So please label donations with
Momma-(name)

Thank you to the amazing ones that have donating towards butters vetting. We have several that were rescued and are heartworm pos. They are receiving treatment of course. But we could really use ongoing help with it in addition to our seniors dog and horse. 🫶🏼 TIA for helping.

Omg! Ziggy you are so full of awesome character. This playful affectionate mature gentleman is popping in to say howdy. He also could use some positive vibes. Seasonal allergies are doing a number on his bully self. They are a sensitive dog to that in general. But being the sweet heart that he is, he’s taking it in stride. Went for a little adventure walk after his medicated bath. He loves to explore and we are testing out his meds. See if he flares. I think he was more interested in snuggles tho. lol.
