Out of all the black quail eggs we had delivered to us, sadly only one of the eggs hatched and with going through shipping it was a risk we took, but in the end we still got a hen out of it. Now 7 of our silkies, 3 Orpingtons and 4 wyandottes are hatching now (all of these chicks are currently spoken for)... So she won't be alone for long. We decided to name her "Raven". She will be one of our new hens joining our black otter quail covey when she gets older.

🥳🎉💐 Hopefully we'll have better luck next me with our own black quail eggs next incubating. (That'll be after possibly our last batch of Jumbos and a batch of our Celadons.) We'll keep you all updated on when our black quail eggs are going in the incubator. I'll also take a photo of our incubators when we refill them again and let you know what we'll possibly have to offer you in the near future.

Currently what we have in our second incubator due to hatch in ten days is a possibility of pure:

Cochin (all been claimed as a pre-order)
Silkies (have a waiting list)
Satins
Frizzles
Serama
Kikiriki
D'uccles
D'anvers
Pheasant (have a waiting list)

Anything that hatches on this list will be up for discussion and posted two days after they hatch. (After they're dry). Not available until after 1-2 weeks of age. We prefer them to be 2 weeks and older so by then we guarantee they'll be ready for their new homes and have been socializes around our kids and other pets. (Poultry, Bengals, dogs, etc.)

Yesterday was a busy day for us as we were doing deliveries and meeting customers yesterday doing our bartering/trades. One of our friends Sarah out of Truckee, Ca has her BCMs as well as her Olive hens laying eggs and asked if we'd hatch them to test their fertility hatch rate. As this is her first year and doesn't own an incubator. In exchange she said we could keep what hatched. Sadly my two incubators are currently full.... BUT Luckily Celtic Knot Ranch was able to help her and we delivered the eggs to them to put in their incubator! 🥳 We got to visit with their turkeys, guinea keets, quails, chickens, dogs, Bengal yeti, horses, and a neighbors of theirs big lop bunny that got out hopping around on the run. 😅

Now it's Sunday and we're resting inside today. How's your Sunday going? 😊💞

It's Monday Morning Madness!!!

Forewarning!!! If you find people with ADHD weird or annoying or overly obnoxious DO NOT watch the video. I'm weird and don't care. Lol 😂

We're going crazy with our Chicken math and got another few hens added to our flock. The first one we're showing off is our new girl "Bella" that our daughter has claimed. At first when Bella got her she seemed confused on why she was with us now. Instead of freaking out, the moment we let her out to meet our family, Bella made it clear she wanted cuddles and comfort from being in a new stranger's home. Luckily within an hour of being held by our kids, flying into our neighbors yard, getting laid on by the neighbors dog (didn't hurt her just laid on her to help us catch her, their dog is a farm trained LGD around their own flock and trained to protect and herd their flock like ours does), she also met our Bengal cats, and our dog all in the first 3hrs. By then it was time for her to meet the flock. So far she's doing good but if we're around or outside she'll make it a point to be on our laps or with my daughter. Which OMGOODNESS we've definitely been enjoying her sweet loving personality! Thank you so much 😊🙏 Stephanie Boring we absolutely adore her! 💕🤩

UPDATE all are gone.

We have 5 Adult Japanese Coturnix Quail up for discussion in Antelope CA all 6 months to 1yr old (roo is the oldest and has feather s*x linked gene) They're all bonded to each other. Hens lay standard colored eggs and any chicks that hatch from them will be feather s*xable. (Must all go together)

We have 5 Celadon Coturnix Quail (one guaranteed to be male and the rest guaranteed to be female) up for discussion in Antelope CA they're all almost 3 weeks old and will lay blue eggs. They're all bonded to each other in their own covey and will start laying 8 to 10 weeks old. (Must all go together.)

The ones circled in blue are the black quail eggs and the ones circled in red are from our own Jumbos covey eggs. (We put 8 of ours in but only 5 show that they're growing. Zigzag the Plymouth Rock our son is holding laid her egg 🥚 in the new nesting box. Now Brownie our Ameracauna is laying in the same nesting box about to lay her Blue 🔵 🥚 egg next! 🎉🥳 Our son was not happy that the egg was "dirty" and his face said it all. 💩😅

Here's the update on our Orpingtons we hatched last year and added to our flock. Their out free ranging with our other babies. 😁
Blue buff Columbian Orpington pullet
Blue Orpington pullet
Cuckoo Orpington pullet
Two Black Orpingtons pullets (one carries for chocolate and the other carries blue)

And the biggest one laying with them that has buff red on head is actually from a cross breeding between Buff Orpington roo with BCM hen in order to make a dark red egg layer (hopefully will carry on the dark chocolate freckles that was on the moms dark BCM egg). She is 2 months older than them. 😁💞 Once she starts laying in April we'll show you her red eggs and see if her eggs will have same freckles her moms eggs had and instead of a dark chocolate eggs it should be red... We'll see... 🤔🤞🫶

P.S. These English Orpingtons are not available. Extras were already claimed and re-home these are for us only. The Cuckoo and two blacks are being re-homed to breeder in Wilton CA. So we're keeping the Blue and the blue Columbian Orpingtons at our little homestead.
