THESE DOGS NEED FOSTERS OR ADOPTERS IMMEDIATELY! 🔥🔥🔥

THEY NEED COMMITMENT URGENTLY!

Six more dogs have joined those pending euthanasia from 2/11. Our Apple Valley dogs that were transferred to Devore are not safe, nowhere near it. The transfers give a few extra days at best. Cliff, Ozzie, Josiah, and Zorro need help at Devore in addition to our beauties still in Apple Valley.

Sally is a used mama dog. She's 5, so she was bred until no longer useful to her owners. Erwin and Annie are kenneled together and just the sweetest wigglebutts.

Jennifer is scared and not able to handle, so she was chosen today. Diane is also 5 years old with no interest. Archibald is only a year old. Mika's family came for her brother and mom but left her to die. Darla is also likely from that same group and left. Spot was adopted from Apple Valley a bit ago, and his friend was adopted yesterday, so of course, the shelter staff are intent on killing him.

The dogs left behind are the most vulnerable.

Fosters and adopters are so desperately needed.

Keep fighting for these dogs.

Each of these dogs needs a foster or committed adopters likely today or by tomorrow morning if the shelter is kind. Please share, engage with their individual posts, and make sure they're all seen. Some of these dogs have many shares while others have a few. Let's make it our job to share the ones who need more help getting out.

Please do everything you can. 🙏

Although their links may be down, these dogs are still alive and need shares, pledges, fosters, and transport. PLEASE PM US IF YOU CAN FOSTER, ADOPT, OR TRANSPORT and honor pledges only when you receive a freedom photo.

🔸Disclaimer: we are independent networkers running this page. We are not affiliated with the shelter or any rescues. We do our best to forecast who is the danger, but this euth list may contain dogs that are not in danger and/or may be missing dogs in danger. We are also constantly updating the euth list as we discover more information on the status of dogs. Thank you to those who have offered to foster, however, we need follow-through. Offering does not save a dog. You need to fill out a foster application and be vetted by a rescue.

7 dogs dropped from the website this morning. None of them had interest, so these are the ones we think are most in danger today. Please help save Scar, Bruno, Midnight, George, Mrs. Piggy, Kermit, and Fright.

Thank you for fighting so hard for the last sets of dogs. Anastasia and Drizella have nothing while Penny might have a foster but needs rescue. Please keep trying for these dogs.

THESE DOGS NEED FOSTERS OR ADOPTERS IMMEDIATELY! 🔥🔥🔥

THEY NEED COMMITMENT BY NOON!

More dogs have been uploaded to the site, so now more dogs have run out of time at this place they call a shelter. 14 days apparently or less is all the time that Apple Valley want to house and care for and get to know these dogs.

9 we think are in danger, but we are waiting for responses from the shelter. We have some sad photos of most of these dogs since AVAS staff never bothered to upload a clear version of them.

Please put all your efforts into these dogs and the remaining ones from the last lists. Their only option is for us to get them out, or they walk or get dragged out to the back building and become a memory.

Please share and comment.

Although their links may be down, these dogs are still alive and need shares, pledges, fosters, and transport. PLEASE PM US IF YOU CAN FOSTER, ADOPT, OR TRANSPORT and honor pledges only when you receive a freedom photo.

We wanted to take a few moments to acknowledge Fletcher, who was killed by Apple Valley Animal Shelter without warning. Fletcher #246025 arrived at AVAS as a stray picked up in Apple Valley on October 8th. The RVT noted unspecified neurological issues on intake. (Is an RVT qualified to make that diagnosis? What exactly were these “issues”?) Fletcher became available for adoption on October 15th, one day too early in violation of the Hayden Act. Fletcher went unlisted on October 18th. The shelter confirmed in writing that she was killed. She was never pending euthanasia. She was just killed. No warning (and no rescue pleas of which we are aware.) Fletcher was given less than ten days for her former family to find her, and was given a death sentence in the form of a generic intimidating “diagnosis” by an RVT who can’t even be bothered to use protective gear when handling cats during a panleukemia outbreak. It’s beyond a shame. It’s a fu***ng disgrace that cost Fletcher her life. But, RVT Kristin Hall couldn’t care less… she was too busy pretending she cares about animals at the Pet Fair the very next day. Disgusting. Ask questions and demand answers:

To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to my attention that on the evening of September 19, 2024, public kennel card access on the Town of Apple Valley Animal Services “Adoptable Animals” website was deactivated. I respectfully request that public kennel card access be immediately restored, for the following reasons.

1. Kennel cards were the only way to obtain animal status in real time

As you are aware, AVAS staunchly refuses to provide a euthanasia list to their rescue partners or to shelter dog and cat networkers. Consequently, the only way for rescue partners, networkers, and the general public to know which animals are scheduled for euthanasia, is to access kennel cards which, up until the evening of September 19, 2024, were available for anyone to view on the TOAV website. With the kennel cards removed, the identity of animals pending euthanasia at AVAS is now completely secret. Rescue partners, networkers, and the public must now guess at who is pending euthanasia. [continued in comments]

RESTORE PUBLIC KENNEL CARD ACCESS ON TOAV WEBSITE

Text:

To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to my attention that on the evening of September 19, 2024, public kennel card access on the Town of Apple Valley Animal Services "Adoptable Animals" website was deactivated.

The kennel cards were updated as the status of shelter animals changed, and were the only way to obtain animals' status in real time. The "AVAS Rescue Team" and "Networking Apple Valley Animal Shelter Dogs - The Real Volunteer Page" - are AVAS-run pages that actively conceal the identities of animals that are scheduled for euthanasia. AVAS employees refuse to provide status for more than one animal at a time over the phone. Rescue partners, networkers, and the public must email the AVAS Rescue Coordinators, Brandie Lee Garcia and Autumn Cotton, to obtain status, and responses are often delayed, sometimes coming a day or even days later. When a facility kills as quickly as AVAS does, a delayed update can quite literally and in fact, does cost animals their lives.

2. Public kennel card access was revoked so AVAS can conceal euthanasia

The foregoing facts being well known to AVAS employees and the TOAV, the only conclusion I can reach about why public kennel card access was removed, is that it was done to hide the staggering number of animals being killed at AVAS. Recently, the administrator of the "Save Every Single Dog" page, which networks AVAS dogs, developed a software program that was designed to disseminate information gleaned from the kennel cards to the public via email. The program compiled kennel card data from the TOAV's public website into an easily readable, user-friendly format - it essentially created a euthanasia list by categorizing animals into those pending euthanasia, pending adoption, pending rescue, or no longer at the facility. The program or "tracker" was recently soft-launched, and was supposed to be ready for email subscribers on September 19, 2024. There is no doubt in my mind that AVAS and the TOAV deactivated public kennel cards to thwart the operation of the tracker. The Chief Security Officer of the company that hosts the TOAV's website confirmed that the "Save Every Single Dog" administrator was doing absolutely nothing wrong and no cybersecurity issues were implicated. I can conceive of no other reason why AVAS would want the tracker to fail.

In short, removing public kennel card access will get animals killed. Unless that is AVAS' objective - to kill more shelter pets - public kennel card access should be restored immediately.

I appreciate your prompt attention to this serious matter.

Sincerely,

[Your name]

09/19/2024

This is Mama Harmony #244157 and her 8 puppies, who were only a couple of weeks old when they arrived at AVAS sometime in early August. AVAS killed them all without warning sometime between the afternoon of Friday, September 13th and this morning (Wednesday, September 18th.)

Mama Harmony and her puppies were rescue-only, meaning they were not shown on the facility’s websites, nor were they ever on the adoption floor in public view. These are the only pictures we have seen of them. Every time networkers requested status on them, they were told they were in “holding”… until this morning when they were told Harmony and her puppies were dead. Apparently they were killed because they had been at the shelter for 40 days and got sick.

AVAS Rescue Coordinators: How many pleas did you send out for Mama Harmony and her babies? How many rescues did you ask to help them? When? when did they supposedly get sick? Did you ask for help from your partners after they got sick? When did you make the decision to kill them and when did you actually kill them?

🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁 🍁

THESE DOGS NEED RESCUE COMMITMENT OR ADOPTION IMMEDIATELY! 🔥🔥🔥

We have a (tentative) tiny list of 3 tiny dogs today! Mama Plum and her puppies came from Phelan. 2 are pending euthanasia with her, and 3 are no longer at the facility. We do not yet know their outcome. We feel like more dogs will be added later on, but we know we can focus on these three while we wait for what AVAS will do! There have been many rescues, including all of the dogs from the 9/13 list, as well as a few from the urgent list. Hopefully this means the list remains small. Thank you for sharing and your dedication!!!

Please foster or adopt!

You’ve probably seen this by now, but if you haven’t - here is confirmation of Apple Valley Animal Shelter & Field Services Director Gina Whiteside’s “retirement.”

Best believe we took a moment to celebrate.

Best also believe our work is far from being done.

Things have not been going any better for the animals at AVAS. In fact, it seems as though recently they have been getting worse.

Let’s keep on them.

We have unconfirmed reports that Apple Valley Animal Shelter & Field Services Director Gina Whiteside has resigned.

We do not know whether this is true. If true, we do not know when she resigned or why.

We also have unconfirmed reports that Animal Services Supervisor Adriana Atteberry is taking over the Director position.

We do not know whether this is true either. If true, we do not know whether her directorship will be better or worse than her predecessor.

What we do know for sure is that things have not been going any better for the animals at AVAS. In fact, it seems as though recently they have been getting worse.
