Someone has been doing their homework! Little Sasha really lucked out with a family that knew they wanted to get started with training as soon as they brought her home. They’ve been putting in the practice and I couldn’t be happier for this family!!! We only have one more Private Lesson and we’ve already covered (and excelled) with all the basics we set out to teach.

Made sure to stock up on frozen Kongs to keep my dogs busy and happy through the holidays! I love to use up whatever leftovers we have that are dog-safe (and agree with everyone’s stomachs) as a special treat.

This please consider a donation to Keller's Cause. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the advocacy, adoption, and education surrounding deaf and blind dogs.

Since the organization's inception in 2015, we have made it our goal to prevent the breeding of deaf and blind dogs through education and awareness. For those that do need our help, we aim to prioritize the unique sensory needs of these special dogs. With a focus on mental health, socialization, behavior, and enrichment, we set a standard of care that unfortunately relies heavily on follower donations.

It really doesn’t matter if your dog is friendly or not.

What matters is that you don’t take the choice away from another owner (and their dog) as to who they interact with.

There can be so many reasons why a dog and their owner need space from you and your dog.

Please allow them that choice 💙

Indy graduated from his Puppy Basics Lessons today! He was a great student and successfully learned all the basics in just 5 lessons! It is bittersweet to watch dogs and their families grow so much. Congratulations buddy, make your people proud!!!

Have you ever seen a Puppy Picnic?

Simba is working on feeling safe away from home and socializing (like most dogs after the last year and a half!). For his Enrichmnet Visits we focus on Simba’s comfort first, then play and training. After a rather pathetic first attempt at taking Simba out for a hike I tried this for a change of pace… I brought along a blanket, water/bowl, a few of his favorite toys, and of course the best variety of treats! I found that once he is able to take in an environment at his own pace and have this sort of “safe zone”, Simba does much better! On this particular visit to Carriage Hills he even happily greeted the donkeys and watched a barn cat, other dogs, and children playing without any undesirable reactions!!!
