🐪💫 Come face to face with our young camels, Millie and Pluto, and our three ostriches during a Young Camel & Ostrich Encounter!

Millie and Pluto are growing quickly, which means this special experience won’t be around forever. Don’t miss your chance to meet them while they’re still young!

Encounters are available on a first come, first served basis and can be purchased in our gift shop any day we’re open.

*Drive-thru closes at 4:30PM*

🦬🇺🇸 It's National Bison Month!

National Bison Month is celebrated every July in the United States! This month recognizes North America’s largest land mammals and the amazing comeback the American bison has made. There are thousands of bison across the U.S. today, but that hasn't always been the case.

This species almost went extinct a hundred years ago, but thanks to ongoing conservation efforts that began in the early 1900s, this iconic animal still exists today!

Happy sugar glider Sunday from Lady and Bug, our two newest sugar gliders! 🐞😊

We adopted Lady (gray female) and Bug (white male) earlier this spring. They have been settling in and recently made their debut as animal ambassadors on our Cute, Cuddly, & Scaly Encounter! Guests can meet them and interact with them while learning all about these cute little marsupials.

Encounters are sold in our Gift Shop every day we are open and are done on a first come, first served basis!

🐱Happy CATurday from Napoleon the serval!

Did you know servals have the largest ears of any wild cat relative to their body size? Those big ears give them excellent hearing! Servals also have the longest legs in the cat family, helping them leap over 9 feet into the air! These unique features make servals some of the most skilled hunters in the wild.🐾

🩺🦘 Here is a behind the scenes look at how veterinary care happens at the park!

Bendigo, one of our red kangaroos, had an anesthetized wellness exam this week. We’re happy to say he recovered well and is back out with the rest of the mob. Our Animal Care intern Autumn also got to get some hands on experience - it was not easy moving this 120lb kangaroo!

Thanks to our keepers, staff, and the Arcola Animal Health Care Center for their teamwork and care!

Happy World Camel Day!🐪🌎🐫

We have four camels that call Aikman Wildlife Adventure home! Randy, Pluto, and Millie are our three Dromedary camels, while Fabio is our only Bactrian camel. Dromedaries have one hump and are more common, while Bactrians have two humps.

Camels use their signature humps to store fat, not water. These animals are designed to withstand harsh desert conditions and have amazing adaptations like their humps to survive! Learn all about them on our Camel & Ostrich encounter with Millie and Pluto, or meet Fabio and Randy on some of our Drive-Thru Adventures!
