They are all safe and sound, warm and cozy, full tummies and resting peacefully. We have mom and dad in crates tonight, but we will put together another pen tomorrow. Mom needs her stitches to heal before being with the rambunctious puppies. Dad also has a cut on his leg, but no stitches needed. Just so happy to have caught them all and seeing them sleeping so soundly, makes it all worth it. They’ve never had a soft bed, just sleeping on the ground and eating what the guys had left to give them.
All is good with the world tonight. ❤️
Sorry, I said November 8th, it’s December 8th. My days are running together.
All 6 running around playing. They just want to be loved.
Jessy with her new brother. Love at first sight. ❤️
One small portion of my misfits and crazy life. I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️
Titus and Maximus beat Parvo and are a handful now. They are growing like weeds and constantly getting into trouble like most puppies. They will be 7 weeks old on the 8th of October.
Mack came to the rescue last week after being abandoned by his previous owner. He has some neurological issues going on and we are hoping that he will get better with meds, therapy and TLC. This is the sweetest little boy you will ever meet. If he never gets better, he will stay with us and live a long half life. He may not be able to walk like the other dogs, but he certainly is a happy boy. He gives lots of kisses and tail wags. 🐾❤️
Pupdate on Buddy:
He is now playing. He is slowly meeting the other dogs and had been so good with all of them, even the bossy chihuahuas. He will gently take food from your hand and today was the first time he went in his crate on his own. Yes we are crating him until we know how he will do being left lose in the house with no supervision. We have made amazing strides in two days time. He hasn’t even pottied in the house. We still can’t put a collar on him, but that will happen in time.
So for those of you that don’t know this guy, his name is Buddy. He had been living at the front door of the new Dollar General in Lebanon Oklahoma for months now. The employees and customers had been feeding him and he actually started to trust a few people and would even get in their vehicle from time to time. Several attempts by different people and rescues were made to save this boy and get him in a home. No one was successful at catching him. A couple rescue people spent 3 hours last week trying to get him and were unsuccessful and one of them actually got bit. I had tried back in the summer to catch him and he wasn’t having it. He would growl and run away from me. Yesterday morning on my way to work as I drove by, I saw him laying by the doors of the store curled up trying to stay warm and dry. I just couldn’t stand it, I turned around and went to try and catch him. Three delivery guys were there and trying to help by giving me sandwiches and things to try and coax him into my car. He’s a very smart dog. He would take the food out of my hand, but not if I had the leash on my arm. He would not get in my car to get the food either. So I told the manager I would come back after work. I stopped at McDonalds and bought three chicken sandwiches. As soon as I pulled in the parking lot, I saw him sleeping on the blanket I had left for him that morning. This time I was a little better prepared with a crate and chicken. So I started talking to him, feeding him and petting him. He did jump in the back of my car, but not long enough for me to shut it. So I opened the crate, put some of the chicken in the crate and some on the edge of the car. I walked away and he finally jumped in my and went into the crate for his chicken. I was able to shut the door to the crate and get it locked. He wasn’t happy, he was fighting the crate and biting trying to get out. He finally settled down on the way home. My husband came out and helped me carry the
