I love this pic! Found on the internet...
The dog is as much into it as the rider. Dunno who the dog or bloke is but sure brought up my own memories of my dog. Some years ago I had a Fox Terrier, "Bobby the Biker Dawg", and he sat in front of me on my motorbike on a tank bag! He loved it and really got into it! And the smiles we got as we cruised through Palmy and Wangas, it was priceless...I miss Bobby so much! He was one of a kind!!!

Max, our ten year old shelter dog. He's been one heck of a shelter dog and we will miss him along with all his puppy friends.

This sweet family have a heart for older dogs. Max will join two old siblings and will have his care paid for by Mrs. Mary who is going to take care of his heartworm treatment.

Max, we will miss you buddy. You've been a friend to all, a loving ball of fun and the most docile creature we've ever met. He never met a stranger and we hope beyond all hope you live for many many more years and spread more joy as you have with us at HSAS.

Doggieโ€™s Day Out
By Barbara
Doggie daycare is not every pupโ€™s cup of kibble. But, for the ones who enjoy it, the benefits are many!
Dogs are social animals, so spending all day at home alone while youโ€™re at work can be a bummer. The frustration of boredom can lead to depression and unhealthy habits like destruction of your sofa. Puzzle toys and chews and whatever other distractions you leave for them wonโ€™t last long. Eventually, they will be looking for the next activity โ€“ like chewing the legs off a table. Plus, asking them to โ€œhold itโ€ for 8-10 hours can lead to indoor accidents.
Since most donโ€™t prefer to be a lone wolf, so to speak, doggie daycare provides a safe, controlled setting for socialization. If your dog is an only child, or doesnโ€™t have any friends in his life, daycare could be just the thing. There he will have supervised interaction with others of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. All these new experiences will broaden his horizons! For instance, a shy boy or girl, might gain confidence. Chubby ones may learn to enjoy exercise. Older dogs will benefit from the increased mobility of interactive play. An overly-energetic young pup will burn it off and sleep well at night. (So will you!)
Most of us have to be absent from home for long stretches of time. Letting a dog stew in her loneliness can cause separation anxiety. She may spend her day crying, howling, licking, chewing, or exhibiting other stressed-out behavior. Daycare will alleviate such suffering, thus easing your mind as well.
Daycare is also useful for maintaining routine and can structure your dogโ€™s day to be in line with his home life. Regular potty breaks and mealtimes foster better digestion, urinary tract health, and aid in weight management.
As mentioned at the top of this article, daycare is not for every dog. Dogs who are poorly socialized, or not socialized at all, can be overwhelmed. They can become anti-social or even aggressive. If your dog has past incidents of aggression toward other dogs or people, then daycare would not be a safe option.
Before enrollment, make sure all vaccinations are up to date and any health issues are noted. Spaying and neutering are sometimes not required but can be most helpful with behavior. If your dog has an illness or injury, make sure the facility personnel can provide the necessary care.
At the meet-and-greet, all staff should be able to handle your pet with ease. She should not exhibit signs of fear or aggression. Only then will other dogs be introduced in a confined safe space. If all goes well, small groups will go out to play together. Eventually your pup will have free reign with his new pals.
Worrying about the conditions youโ€™ll find at home after a long day away can be stressful. And, if your dog has done โ€œbad thingsโ€, she will see your return as the impending doom of punishment. Just know that the damage is the clear message that she is sad and lonely. So, daycare may be the best answer โ€“ for the both of you.
The articles are meant to be informative and a guideline of sorts in caring for pets.
We know many of you out their are experienced and responsible pet owners, maybe you will learn something new or be able to help someone else who is reading the article.
