What do you do for a tracking dog after he’s had a bad day? You let him take the night off to watch TV with dad! Lol

Muzzleloader and straight wall cartridge season opens in the morning and ole Lanky is ready to track if you need us! Here are a few tips that might help:
1. If your deer drops immediately, it could be “spine shock” watch him close and get ready to put another in him.
2. If you find bone fragments at the hit sight, back out and text me quick, this one will probably need ran down.
3. If you find gut matter or dark red blood, back out and text me. We will give this one a while.
4. Avoid grid searching. You step in the scent and track it everywhere and it’s harder for the dog to sort through it.
5. If you find where it bedded after the shot but it’s no longer there, back out and text me.
6. If there is a chance the deer might have got over on a neighbor’s property, make sure you get permission before we get there. We will not trespass.
7. Be patient! We will be extremely busy tracking all weekend but we will get there as soon as we can.

I will track in the following areas:
1. Woodruff Co
2. Prairie Co.
3. White Co east of Hwy 167 except those suburbs around Beebe. Just too much risk of my dog crossing a highway or getting on a neighboring property or in someone’s yard.
4. NW Monroe Co
5. North Arkansas Co
6. NE Lonoke Co

Lanky started off the season strong with a couple of great tracks! The first was 18 hours old and the second was 22 hours old on a stud of a deer!
