Black Cap Conure babies!!
Fun facts, (some might be rumors lol)

*The are one of the smallest of the conure species, only about 9 inches
*They completely change color when they are wet
*They are absolutely water babies, these guys take a minimum of 3 baths a day.
*They are very intelligent and can easily learn tricks and games
*While they can get loud if neglected or they want your attention,,, they are known to be one of the quieter Conures
*In the wild they live in huge flocks of up to 30
*They are VERY social and do great with an active bustling household
*They are very active and silly, you’ll find them hanging upside down about 50% of the time
*Did I mention they LOVE water??
**Ok this one I have heard and read, but not witnessed, apparently quite a few of them sing softly in their sleep!!!

Due to a sudden death in the family, these birds are looking for a home. Blue is a 10-year-old Blue and Gold Macaw. Rocky is a 27-year-old Umbrella Cockatoo. These birds are healthy. Hello @everyoneeet our 11months old male and female Galah Cockatoo Looking For Their Forever Homes. They're Very Friendly, Well trained and are both hand tamed, this adorable souls are 11months old. They have almost the same personalities.

Galah Cockatoos Are Affectionate and friendly, the galah cockatoo has a reputation for being a loving pet. Unlike umbrella cockatoos, these birds are not big on cuddling. But, they are accustomed to handling.

Remember Blizzard? We took this little Goffin's cockatoo out of an extremely abusive home last summer where he was also subjected to cigarette smoke. Below are some before and after photos. (Note: two of the before photos were taken in March of this year so a lot of progress had already been made)

While he still engages in some feather damaging behavior, overall Blizzard's FDB has decreased dramatically. This handsome guy has come a very long way in a short period of time! 🧡

Living in a healthy environment makes all the difference in the world! Here at our sanctuary a healthy environment means that Blizzard is able to breathe clean fresh air and to eat healthy fresh veggies and fruits along with nutritious Harrison's Bird Foods nuggets. He also has lots of things to keep him engaged both physically and mentally including many opportunities to make his own choices each and every day! 🙂

Currently hand feeding our sweet baby Hahns mini Macaws. These are awesome mini size macaws which have personalities like the bigger macaws but in a small package. WE DO SHIP!!!

Here are two birds in the Vinton area in need of new homes.

Bert: Goffin Cockatoo. Bert is a character for sure! He is the escape artist in the family and if he should manage to get out he will let the other bird out as well. He is 14 years old and does talk some but not a lot. He will scream if he is unhappy or if you have the nerve to eat in front of him and not give him any. He is on a diet of Zupreme pellets and I give both birds fresh fruit mixed with plain oatmeal every day. The get nuts as treats as well. Bert does not have a preference of the s*x of his person but he will pick one. His favorite toy is a box that he can play in and then shred. Toys in his cage as well as perches don’t last long with him. He will let me trim his talons and have never had to trim his beak. Bert is very obviously a boy which is evident with his behaviors.

Barret: 6 year old Blue and Gold Macaw. Barret the parrot is the talker! He says many phrases and is in general not a screamer except to tell Bert to stop screaming. Barret prefers woman but will go to men as well. He is a very adaptable bird. Since he was a young bird, I have taken him to pre-schools and nursing homes to give talks about him. He loves kids and will be most vocal around them. In general the only time he will bite is if he is scared of something – like the lease I bought him. That is a no go for him. I can’t trim his talons or beak myself and he goes to an avian vet for that twice a year.

Barret is little more shy then Bert is and will have to live with a toy for a day or two to make sure it is not a parrot killing object but he will then destroy the toy. He is good about not chewing his perches unlike Bert. Barret is DNA s*xed as a boy but our avian vet swears he is a girl.

Both birds are in good health and fully feathered which I am told my my vet to have a Goffin in full feather is really rare as they are so clever and get bored easily.
