A study from Kyoto University in Japan found that female dogs tend to be more critical of human competence than males. In the experiment, dogs watched two people attempt to open containers - one who succeeded and one who failed.

The female dogs were more likely to focus on and approach the successful person, especially when food was involved. Male dogs didn’t show a strong preference either way.

The findings suggest that female dogs are more tuned in to social cues and may judge people based on how useful or reliable they seem.

Other studies back this up, showing that females often hold eye contact with humans longer, react more to social signals, and can be pickier when choosing relationships.

If someone is able to step up for this pup/dog Ava, I’m sure we can figure out transport. I’m also willing to offer up a month of free mid-day walks (30 min, M-F) if she’s adopted to an approved home within our service area.

After a two-month search, a legally blind Chicago man is going to be reunited with his emotional support dog, named Bam Bam, who was stolen from his Logan Square backyard in June.

Bam Bam was located and is currently at the Chicago Police Department, where his owner is headed to bring him home.
